First morning after arriving in Key West. I went to watch the sunrise, then stopped here on the way back to the apartment. Food: They have an amazing assortment of pastries and desserts. I ordered a hot chai latte and an almond croissant. Both were good. The chai had nice froth and a decent amount of concentrate, giving it good flavor. It was warm, though it would have been better if it had been hotter. The croissant was good, but there may have been too much filling, which made it soggy in the middle. It was a bit messy to eat. Service: I received a friendly greeting when I arrived. They let me pick a spot out front at a counter overlooking Duval Street. The server came over promptly and took my order. There were plenty of friendly smiles and helpful assistance. Atmosphere: The place is cute, with seating both inside and outside. The outdoor seating is especially nice if you're by yourself and want either some quiet time or the opportunity to strike up a conversation with others. I'd stop again, and likely try something different next time.
First time exploring Key West, and with an early start, we decided on a lighter fare because we knew we would be experiencing a bunch of the local flavors. But!!!!! First... we needed coffee. This bakery, slightly off the beaten path, but offered seating facing the street, where my wife and I enjoyed people watching while sipping on our coffee and pastry. We are out here celebrating our 30th Anniversary, and what better way to start the day with a small bite to get us going. I had an Americano, where the wife had the Lavender Mimosa. Both were perfect compliments to the incredible pastry (I forgot what it was exactly but perhaps the picture will tell you) we split. It was not sweet, but had a delicious tartness to it. It was fantastic! Thank you for the quick bite and the laughs my wife and I enjoyed while sitting street side people watching. I'll be looking for this place next time we come with friends! Randomly stopped in here while exploring Key West. It was the large menu posted on the front door that caught my eye. So many enticing items! I was confident everyone in my party of 8 could find something right for them. No problem being seated right away. It was a Tuesday around 2:30 PM. I struggled to decide what to get. It was very helpful to have the picture menu, available upon scanning the QR code. I delayed ordering due to indecision, but most of our party moved forward. Therefore their food arrived in a more timely manner. Once I finally did order, it took awhile to receive my food. Our server kept us updated, though. He checked in often to make sure we had all we needed. The food is very tasty. I enjoyed my quiche, which had layers of creamy goodness. Also a nice crispness to the crust. There's a bright, airy feel to the place. Indoor & outdoor seating available. It's a charming spot to savor some delicious bites.
The hot chocolate was absolutely amazing and not too hot on this warm day. I followed with the Greek yogurt with granola, fruit, and honey. It was tasty. I also had the Queen's Annan which was spectacular. My family enjoyed their meals of the veggie Benedict and the green tartine. The waitstaff was funny -Carlos. Would definitely recommend.
Omg such a cute spot to sit outside. Definitely order yourself a lavender mimosa it's very refreshing and delicious. I got the chicken panini and it was amazing with pesto and a good cheese pull. Amazing food and excellent service.
Everything was excellent! So many things that I wanted to try on their extensive and delicious menu. Cute spot, and the service was quick and friendly. I had a yummy open faced smoked salmon on sourdough and my partner has a belt on a croissant. Be careful of upcharge on the potatoes, avocado, and some bread choices( including croissant) $3.50 extra each. Was it worth it? The little dish of potatoes probably not! Also side note soup was okay; the broth was not as dark and rich as we were expecting, but also not as salty at it sometimes is.
Cute little spot with some fantastic food and coffee. When you walk in, you can be seated or order take out at the coffee bar. We sat down the first time, but it was so good that we went back another morning and ordered to go. The pastries are out of this world- can't go wrong with any of them, but the kuogn amann is definitely a show stopper. The eggs, coffee, and more were delicious, quick, and fresh. Would absolutely recommend and will be back

Stopped in for a quick bite to eat. The ham and Swiss croissant was very good, followed by the bacon and egg croissant, which was also good. They have indoor and outdoor seating- but beware of the birds and chickens.
We dropped into this place for some quick cold brews, and came back every day for the rest of our trip. Why go anywhere else when they literally have SOME OF THE BEST COLD BREW I'VE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE. I'm also a harsh critic when it comes to cold brew specifically. They are very quick especially if you're just getting something to go, and also we are once for done in, and it was great service and a charming vibe. Pastries (croissants and pan au chocolate) were also amazing, so of course the croissant breakfast was bomb. Highly recommend.
Come early because there is a line. Although you can go and order your coffee and get a pastry to tie you over until you get a table. It's a busy place, what I can I say. Very casual atmosphere. Hubby got the American plate and they gave plenty of crispy bacon. He ate everything. I got the ratatouille since that is not something you normally see. I make my own but theirs was pretty good with the pastry although some of the pastry gets a little soggy. Didn't care too much for the egg. The latte was delicious. Light in coffee flavor and didn't make me jittery. Also had to try their honey cake which is like several layer of very thin cake with cream in between. It was good but definitely sweet so have some tea with it or black coffee. Overall a good meal.
Quaint bakery and cafe in Upper Duval, a great little place away from the large crowds. Fast service, and the food was absolutely amazing. The Eggs Benedict with bacon was piled with 12 slices of crispy bacon and the egg was perfectly poached. The prices were also much better than your other breakfast/brunch places 2 blocks up Duval at the typical touristy hotspots. Do yourself a favor and grab breakfast/brunch here, and get a piece of lemon pistachio cake on the way out for a snack!

*For context for visitors, all my Key West reviews are relative to Key West restaurants, not to places outside of Key West * A delicious breakfast and pastry spot. We ended up coming here twice because the baked goods are so good! The prices aren't bad for a breakfast meal because the portions are huge. It's relatively standard, but the pastries are amazing. My favorites were the chocolate chip banana bread pudding and the chocolate chip brioche. Highly recommend! Even outside of Key West, the bakery would be 5 stars! read more
Oooh, this place. It's small in size, so prepare to wait. But you can use some of that time to check out the bakery case. Still regret not getting one of the bombolini. Next time. What I did have over the course of 2 visits in one week was the blueberry danish, an Americano, and the Croque Madame. The pastry had a next level crust texture that was awesome. The savory brought the cheese. Mmmm...cheese. Served on this awesome chewy crusty bread. The cheese crust tasted almost Parmesan but baked into the top of the bread with perfectly poached egg atop. And an Americano to wash it all down. read more

Nice spot, staff friendly. Food ok. Usually I go with the #1 choice on Trip advisor, this was #2. It a cool little spot, it was busy which is always a good sign. Ordered Orange juice it was great, then ordered the waffles with a side of bacon and that bacon was horrible, it was super thin, oily and for some odd reason cut into little pieces and served in that little square bowl, not good at all. Waffles was ok but seemed like a half portion. $52 bucks for 2 not a good value considering the portions. Will I come back? Probably not, but it's ok read more

FRIENDLY!! That's the word that comes to mind first! Welcoming, kind, and of course very delicious foods. My husband and I were visiting Key West and this cafe was slamming busy, tons of customers. Despite the crowd, the server and everyone behind the counter was so friendly, greets you with a smile, and serves up great espresso and baked goods. While in the Keys I discovered that the crowds can bring out either the worst in staff/owner attitudes or the best. La Grignote brings the best, and I truly appreciate that. I'll go back just for the service alone. read more
The food here is amazing! We went 2 days in a row. They are always busy on weekends, so be prepared for a bit of a wait. But you can order mimosas at the counter and sip on them until your table is ready. The quiche is to die for and the Belgian waffles are very good. Definitely check this place out while you're in Key West. The only con was that I really wanted to buy a shirt, but they ran out. read more

One of my favorite breakfast places in Key West! Me and my husband both loved the ambiance, the service, staff, and the food was just OMG. Every single thing was fresh and delicious. Would definitely love to return as soon as I go back to the island! Highly recommend! read more
Ah La Grignote. So close to our hotel, it was nice to walk over in the morning and have coffee. First time here, we walked in and see all of the freshly baked French pastries and croissants. We're looking to sit and have a nice breakfast. My wife is always looking for breakfast with egg whites. I spy with my little eye a Salmon Eggs Benedict. We place our orders and I'm looking at the surroundings. It's nice to be dining on the patio with the lush plantings and beautiful weather. The Salmon EB? Bangin'. A generous use of dill and fresh avocado was all held together in a nice flaky croissant. This was a perfectly executed breakfast, put together very nicely. Kudos to the chef! I have my coffee and I'm not leaving without trying some of their baked goods. I'm always in search of a perfect chocolate chip cookie. Add walnuts and you suddenly piqued my interest. Ooh la la! The next day, I walked over and I'm not looking to sit and have breakfast. I want a hot off the rack croissant. I zero in, who I'm assuming is the owner. She has this outrageous French accent, she's a little cutie pie. We start making small talk as I sip my bold French coffee. There's a place in Chelsea, La Bergamote and I love their freshly baked croissants. La Grignote is on par with the quality of their baked products. I was very impressed with everything that was offered to me. As I left, I was thinking it must be so nice to bake your passion in paradise. La Grignote, until we meet again. read more

Meh! Came to this place based off of a TikTok review, sadly disappointed by the owner and what I think was the spouse. Nonetheless, they where rude and short in an environment that you should be grateful that you have paying customers and got upset at the fact that I asked for a spoon to mix my sugar in my coffee (terrible!). For starters the only food items that where good are the Belgian waffles and the strawberry lemonade. Everything else was bland and tasteless, the bacon people raved about, the Marriott breakfast microwaved bacon is crispier and more tasteful! As for the American breakfast they brought out chilled chili that was pretty good but ice cold for a place that has concerns about food violations this item was cold! Anywho, as I always say try it for yourself, but TikTok did me wrong this time! To the owner keep up treating people terribly and soon won't have a business! read more

We had walked past this spot a couple of times and decided to stop in for Breakfast. We enjoyed two really good Iced Lattes and shared a Chocolate Croissant to start. Our food was delivered quickly and with a smile. I had a wonderful Bacon, Egg and Cheddar on one of the best Croissants I've had in quite a while. My hubby enjoyed his Eggs Benedict and Veggie Croissant, as well! Great spot! read more
Very cute French bakery/cafè on Duval st. Great fresh coffee and OJ along with a case full of fresh pastries and croissants. Sat down on the patio for breakfast. I ordered a Belgian waffle, my son got French toast, and my husband ordered an egg & cheese croissant. Everything was fresh and made to order. My waffle was light and fluffy with fruit and syrup and light, airy fresh whipped cream! The French toast was moist and dense on the inside with a crispy toasted exterior. Possibly the best French toast I've ever had. The chef explained to us as we left that it is a 4 day process to make that French toast! Don't miss this lovely breakfast cafe, there are a lot of choices in KW for breakfast but you won't go wrong coming to La Grignote! read more

I have to begin by saying You must go to LaGrignote!! We came for a light bite - not really lunch (too late) and we knew we wanted to try some of the desserts. Everything everyone was getting looked amazing and we heard them commenting to the waitstaff about how they enjoyed their food - sandwich - something on a croissant- etc. Etc. We decided to begin with the strawberry lemonade and key lime lemonade. Flavored perfectly!! We ordered the cheese tray as a light bite - the fresh fruit was sooo fresh. They had to make the jam there. It was perfect for not quite lunch - and needing something since we didn't eat lunch. I think my husband almost finished every bite. I selected 2 desserts - the Seven layered mouse cake and the Pasteis de nata drizzled with fresh lemon juice and brown sugar. When you come here you have to leave room for dessert!! My favorite was the mouse cake and my husbands was the De Nata. You cannot go wrong either way!! Staff is attentive, friendly and informative. They were ready to make recommendations. Food is prepared fresh. All desserts are prepared daily. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR - go there!! read more

We came here hungover the day after my friend's wedding in Key West! Food: Maybe I'm too used to expensive small plates in NYC, but these were so reasonably priced for the large portion sizes provided. - Veggie Croissant Benedict ($13.50): Perfectly poached eggs over a flaky croissant smothered with delicious homemade Benedict sauce. The veggie version comes with arugula, asparagus, heirloom tomatoes, and avocado, which made me feel good even if it still really wasn't THAT healthy because of the Benedict sauce. - Orange juice ($4.75): The "fresh squeezed" in the northeast just can't compare to the one in Florida! Service/Ambiance: The staff was running ragged with the number of people and constant turnover with an ever growing line waiting for a table. They were pleasant and efficient though. Love the indoor/outdoor vibe of Key West. Just FYI that the tables are packed pretty closely together. Overall: If I go back to Key West, then I will definitely be dining here again! read more

Viva Francois! I must admit I love French cafes and this one has many of the attributes you would expect. The food is fresh and the accompanying salad it flavorful. Staff are pleasant and the owner walks around and greets the guests. You feel like you have come over to an old friends house for a quick bite. La Crignote also has some tasty bread to accompany a meal. I really enjoyed this restaurant for a quick lunch bite. read more

An absolutely lovely breakfast at this corner side, French Café, and bakery. Absolutely fantastic cup of coffee to start the morning, along with a perfectly mixed mimosa-- just the right amount of champagne and orange juice-- got things going on the right foot. I had the American breakfast, and the scrambled eggs were perfect and fluffy. I was curious about the side of chili, con Carne, but it was absolutely delicious, and served with great fresh avocado and a slice of toasted Artisanal bread. Breakfast doesn't get much better than this. The service was friendly, and it was tremendously enjoyable to sit and watch people walk by while we enjoyed the morning. Another wonderful find during our week in Key West is the relatively recent addition of La Grignote. I loved coming in for an early breakfast since the space is so beautiful with an open kitchen that shows all of the day's freshly made baked goods and offerings displayed behind glass. There is comfortable seating with beautiful plants all around. The food comes plated on colorful, rustic plates making the experience all just so... Speaking of food, everything is so well made and reasonably priced. The BEC croissant sandwich I enjoyed had a nice crisp exterior while being buttery, light and airy inside - so much better than the super soft croissants found in most places. Scrambled eggs were creamy mixed with the swiss cheese and bacon pieces. Really couldn't get more perfect. A nice addition of fresh fruit truly completed the meal. Just as good was the ham and cheese croissant - a glorious amalgam of bechamel, swiss cheese and ham throughout the buttery baked croissant. The service from the owner was thoughtful and efficient all while she made friendly conversation with a delightful french accent. Save yourself a trans-Atlantic flight and just come here because all the elements of La Grignote seem to transport you to the south of France without actually needing a passport - all for very reasonable prices. I followed my nose and my nose took me here. I was in an immediate love trans the second I smelled this place. Like a cartoon and I had just finished having breakfast next door. The smell of fresh baked goods is dangerously wonderful. Wow am in food heaven. Help I can't stop ordering stuff and am really full.everything looks and smell so wonderfully delicious here. A hidden little restaurant, more like French bakery. They have fresh bake goods. You can smell it baking. Every thing here ìs delicious. I had so far, lol an almond croissant with coffee and I was so happy. It was as delicious as I dreamed it. Fresh warm flaky buttery crust on a chocolate croissant. The coffee was also very good.. I also got some other pastries for our trip back home. This is a small store. It has some sitting are but not many its more of a take out place. I promise you'll love the food here. read more

My favorite little cafe in KW. Granted, we didn't get to go to that many, but how can you resist a place owned by a wife and husband team, a pug (who is the mascot) that walks around with a bandana that reads "do not feed", the patio atmosphere, lovely plants, and a very adventurous and varied menu. The baked goods are amazing, and their take on the lobster eggs Benedict--it has a special sauce that I would probably buy if it came in a jar! A lady next to us left because they didn't serve omelettes....?!? There's so many other delicious things on the menu!!!! Came here on the last day of our trip to the Keys, they were able to sit us pretty quick even on a Sunday morning without reservations. We got the Egg, Bacon & Swiss Croissant as well as the Lobster egg benedict which were both good. Only this I was not too impressed by was their iced latte it was pretty bland. I would've loved to try their french toast and their pastries, but maybe another time read more

Average food, the American Breakfast came with a hearty amount of food with like half a whole avocado. The pesto chicken panini was good but overall thought it was average, the pesto tasted like it was jarred/store bought and salty. read more

This was our absolute favorite place we found in Key West. Really a must go if you are in the area. The staff are amazing. The food is definitely 5 stars we loved it so much we went back the next day too! Super cute and cozy place not a lot of seating though so go early!!!!! read more

Best breakfast in Key West. Service and food are fantastic/quick. Ambience is perfect. Came here a couple times while we were here. Will recommend everyone to stop by. Got the Honey cake and key lime pie to go one day. The honey cake is indescribable...have to eat every bite. Eggs Benny was cooked perfectly and portions are perfect. read more
