We were wandering around trying to find food that was affordable , and tasted good. This place in Salamanca was close to our hotel.
Went into one that had good ratings, but was turned down because we had no reservation.
Finally decide to enter La Goyana, a small unassuming restaurant which had lots of Spanish locals in it. We had to wait a while at 3.00 pm for lunch, there was a small table for 2 but there were 3 of us.
Luckily the server / maybe the manager could speak English and we finally ate at 3.45pm for lunch.
All menu was in Spanish, had to google lots of pics. Finally we settled on burger, Iberian pork over French fries with Rocquefort sauce and grilled squid.
The food exceeded our expectations, burger was very thick, juicy and not overcooked. Small Grilled squid was succulent, juicy, cooked just like what I had in Slovenia... not over cooked. So good. The Iberian pork with French fries with Rocquefort sauce was ok, it was better than what I had in a much more expensive restaurant in Seville.
The restaurant could hold max 25 customers, that was how small it was. Priced around Euro 11-12 per entree read more
