I was greeted by Walt, who was incredibly friendly, and after listening patiently to my needs, he led me straight to the perfect fiberglass specimen, which turned out to be of higher quality, and less expensive, then other LA stores I'd already scoped out. Yesss! What really blew me away, though, was the incredible selection of mannequins they have, in every shape, size, and pose you could want, and of course they can refigure, rearrange, refurbish, or repaint all of it to your specifications in their workshop -- I saw a crew hard at work on an army of mannequins that, frankly, looked amazing. I've seen some low-quality plastic mannequins for sale on E-Bay and whatnot, and believe me, there's a big difference, once you've seen the craftsmanship here. The warehouse/shop was easy to find, and took only 20 minutes from Hollywood (101 to 170 to the 5). If you need to buy or rent a mannequin with lovely customer service -- or just enjoy the surreal experience of walking through a silent warehouse filled with mannequins frozen in time -- this is the place. Thanks again!!!

NEXT LEVEL CUSOTMER SERVICE!…read more I contacted Mannequin Gallery with a RUSH request as mannequins I had ordered from a different vendor did not arrive to our event on time. Shelly went out of her way to return my call AFTER HOURS, schedule someone to stay late to get the order together, and had someone scheduled to deliver it before the conference began the next day. What a phenomenal show of fantastic customer service!

Midge was my…read moreamazing tour guide and she was full of historical details and funny anecdotes about the Picos and Lankershims. This really is a must-visit if you're a history buff or into antiques or just want to get a small dose of local culture. The Andres Pico Adobe was built in 1834 and is one of the oldest adobe structures in Los Angeles (the other is at Olvera Street). It's also known as the Romulo Pico Adobe (the son of Andres). It is filled with antiques: a working player piano, antique irons, toasters, clothing and shoes, furniture, sewing machines and an old phonograph that plays recordings on wax rolls. The term, "Put a sock in it" was explained to me by Midge when I asked about the rolled up socks next to the phonograph. Since there was no volume control, you literally put a sock in it to muffle the noise! The Lankershim Reading Room, built in 1904, had been lovingly restored and is on site. It's really beautiful and as Midge said, "If these walls could talk!" Lots of famous people have visited it, back in the day. The Railroad Shanty, built in 1914, is another quaint reminder of the era when trains were the main mode of transportation. The Native American Indian Gallery is chock full of arrowheads and other interesting bits and it's even been blessed by the local tribesmen. Please visit- it's free- and leave a donation! If you didn't know her work, it's the most fun, colorful and happy art at the intersection of Impressionism, portals and optical illusion, where you squint your eyes and each segment of color is like a pixel in a tapestry of interwoven color and texture. The vibe was amazing ing and I just had to go see this art and support this artist. I arrived and found an entire treasure trove of fascinating art by dozens of artists. Each style is unique and well worth coming by. Imagine walking through a museum of the most amazing only talented artists and all the art is for sale. I bought two pieces. One of Shiri's of course. The art is reasonably priced and there are many different sizes. I highly recommend Artspace Warehouse for some of the best talent in the L.A. art world. The staff is wonderful and extremely helpful and full of knowledge about each and every artist, the types of art and our chats were so chill- no pretentious vibes here. Just joy. This was really a thrill to see locals, families choosing art for their homes, and people like me who came a bit of a distance to share the art experience here. I highly recommend Artsoace warehouse.
