Other visitors that we caught up to were pretty involved in themselves and made people wait for them to finish taking their pictures every 5 steps. The museum staff does try to regulate the amount of people but unfortunately they can't really go in and tell people to move it along. I think it maybe a little overpriced but it was fun and I like to support small businesses. When you're done with the museum the stores are fun to check out and they have all sorts of things if you're interested in horror movies and macabre things.

He also curates most of their gallery shows which have featured great artists and animators. The openings are always fun and a great way to meet cool artists and art-lovers. They also have a series of art classes on storyboarding, making comics, life drawing, etc. The teachers have many years of experience in their fields. Definitely worth checking out!

You really do feel the opulence as you drive through the mirador entrance up this long driveway to get to the library. Free parking but it does get packed since many people also park here to access the hiking trails next to the library. This is a beautiful library and many people do come here to study as I noticed most tables were filled. However, there is a loud buzzing sound from the lights but I guess it becomes background white noise if you are used to it. Portraits of Mr. and Mrs. Brand, their family and how the library was are on the library walls so you can learn more about how it all started. The art gallery this time around has an exhibit from Thinkspace, featuring artwork of over 70 artists, on now until March 29, 2025. I really enjoyed the art pieces and took photos of the ones that really impressed me. The grounds features Brand Park, the Japanese tea house (closes early like 3pm), Doctor's House, which is a historical house, and a couple of hiking trails. Overall, a cool place to check out and just 15 minutes away north from downtown Glendale if you need to grab a bite to eat.

I have been going to Alexandra's class for the last 7 years. Her class is the best art class I ever…read moreattended. She shows demos for different drawing and painting projects and gives helpful critique and feedback on our work. She created easy to follow steps for us to understand difficult cast, face or figure drawings and paintings. She gives amazing anatomy lectures and demos on understading bones and muscles and drawing them. Her painting mathod of starting from big planes and gradually going to smaller planes and details is wonderful and very helpful. She also has an incredible pallette and methods to avoid seeing any dirty colors in any painting. She even helps us find creative subjects for our projects. Each of Alexandra's students create outstanding and at the same time different body of works due to her individual help and attention.

So basically, I am in love with this studio! I have learned so much from Alexandra that no one else has ever been able or attempted to teach me.
