LA Fitness Gyms are alright by me! I don't know why people rate LA Fitness gyms, in particular this location so low. I cram to understand! You get what you pay for people!! I say this in defense here because although it is not a 5 star -- Equinox, Lifetime Fitness, Ritz Carlton or VIDA fitness Gym experience that has all the luxury services, bells and whistles ....it serves its purpose....which is to "get you healthy, moving and active!" Besides, this location is one of the better LA Fitness locations to me in the entire area. Also, it has everything the expensive gyms in the DMV provide...without the hefty car-lease membership fees! THE GOOD * Cardio Machines Equipment Galore! * Indoor Pool / Sauna * Full Basketball Court / Racquetball * Large Variety of Fitness & Cycling Classes to fit Anyone's Interest * Huge Free-Weight Section (my favorite zone) * Great Staff / Customer Service THE BAD None. The locker room and bathrooms could use a little bit more frequent servicing perhaps. In all, this gym has it all. The layout and floor plan of the gym is huge and there's tons of workout equipment everywhere. I actually wish this location was actually closer to me. I would be here all the time. It has everything I need and is never crowded during the times I've visited; except for peak rush periods like 5pm-7pm during the work week. Last, you can't beat the membership price around $20-$35/mo. on average. Yes, I must admit that the LA Fitness experience is not an oasis by far....but try waisting your money at $75-$100+/Month for a while at the more expensive gyms around the DMV.....until you realize in the mirror that you can get the same results (good or bad) for half the price at lower-priced gyms like LA Fitness. So get off the couch, save some $$$, quit reading these reviews,.....and get moving at this gym location!

LA Fitness! Waste always unsightly! Machines R disgusting! U can see bacteria & Yuck! Paying customers deserves better!

Poor upkeep. BOXING AREA HAS BEEN DAMAGED FOR MONTHS. How much longer will we be missing 3 entire heavy bags? I'm tempted to post all the other photos...

The music in LA Fitness is so loud I CAN'T HEAR MY OWN THOUGHTS. Do we really need club music at 7AM?!

Upon entering, I was greeted at the front desk. She checked me in and gave me a quick tour of the facility. The place was cute (lots of pink) and clean. The instructor set me up on a bike and we were ready to go. Unfortunately I think my seat was a little too high, so it was uncomfortable for the duration of the ride. I was also a little put off because when I was first getting on my bike, there was an issue with tightening the foot straps and it took another person in the class to try to fix it for the instructor to get up and help me. I removed one star for that. The class itself was cool. It wasn't too hard, but slightly challenging.

(But also, support local businesses and try and buy classes too if you're able!) I took two classes this week - one with Kathy and one with Brenda. Both instructors were so welcoming and kind. Both classes were challenging (but accessible!). I enjoyed both classes a lot - Kathy's sculpt yoga class had me hobbling the next day, and Brenda's class had me challenging myself to try poses I hadn't before. She also had a message at the beginning and end of class about making sure to focus on you're "want to be" list (strong, brave, kind, loving, etc) versus your "to do" list. I love this. In both classes, it seems as though there's great community - a lot of the women seemed to know each other and were excited to take classes together. I hope that if I were in the area, I could be a part of this uplifting environment. The studio itself is clean, has great AC, and has lots of windows to look at trees while you're trying not to fall over in your own tree pose. They also have blocks, straps and I think some mats available. I look forward to coming here if I'm ever in the area again.

She has a friendly, helpful assistant & had yoga mats to borrow, & very cute yoga clothing for sale. Overall, an excellent studio to practice yoga. As a chiropractor, I've found that light resistance weight training three times a week for just 20' & yoga for 2-3 days/week are the most important ways to keep healthy, fit, & have lasting energy. Cheers! DocMikeChiro Update: At Brenda's recommendation, I took today's morning yoga class with Dana. It was the most incredible & challenging, intermediate level yoga class I have ever taken. I asked if she had her class on video so that I can share it with my patients and friends who are yoga instructors. Brenda's Uplift Yoga studio is truly an excellent place to practice & improve strength, balance, & focus.

The instructor let us know that if you take the regular classes (membership) then you do way more working out, she was just easy on us since it was a party. As far as the pole class itself, it was very, very hard. I realized that I have NO upper body strength. I mean I really don't see how strippers (oops exotic dancers) do it. If you're looking for this type of workout I would definitely visit this establishment. The instructors were very nice and professional. Plus its Black Owned and I'll definitely support that. You can actually drop in for the exotic classes on Sat. and I believe you have to see if there is room for the pole class. I believe the classes are $20. The instructor also stated that they have another location in Ga. I haven't visited that one yet (from Ga.).

These exotic and former exotic dancers create a non-competitive environment and encourage you to let your inner dancer come out. They tell jokes and intimate stories that help you feel better if you aren't able to do a move effortlessly. I enjoy going here and always feel comfortable. They also offer specialty classes, like "Booty Poppin and Shakin" "Video Vixen" "Lap Dance Specials" etc... Going here, I've gained a great perspective on the athleticism that you must have in order to be a stripper AND look good doing it. They also sell 5-7inch heels here so you can really get the full feeling. If you want to just see without being charged, the Saturday at 12 class is free for first timers.

The only available classes are very early or very late, which do not fit most people's schedules. I scheduled a 2.0 class, but it was canceled by their staff. The front office said I must be assessed and approved by an instructor, even though I have experience in many advanced Pilates classes at other studios. I asked when the instructor would be available to assess me, and they said they were unsure of the next available time. They take your money without assessing you but limit your ability to attend classes in many ways. I tried to talk to their manager and waited for 2 hours with no response. The front office said she was in a meeting. However, when you see their studio, there isn't even a meeting room--big lie. A kind reminder: before you enroll at the Laurel location, check if you can find any available classes that fit your usual workout time. If you cannot find available classes, it might be better to try another location. Club Pilates is a franchise business, and its membership cannot be used at other locations. Mostly, you can only use your membership at one location, so be cautious before you enroll. I leave this review on 6/19/24. I attached their schedule in the next days, you can see almost nothing you can schedule.
