Have been going here for 20 years in the past week, took all of the cleaning supplies out. When I asked the manager, he rudely replied that too many people were using too many paper towels so they took all of them out except in the bathroom and all of the cleaning supplies and antibacterial wipes out of the area. Put a couple of spray bottles at the desk with no label on them and no way to wipe the spray off. People are taking them out of the bathrooms which are then leaving the bathrooms with no paper towels. It's both unsanitary and disgusting. read more

Facility is good, but for locker theft! On May 17, 2024, there was a locker theft and the thief took out cash from my wallet. Whats more- the thief stole my car keys and also cash from my car and left the car keys. Overall, a trauma to lose stuff from locker. JC police was engaged and I got a case number. However, the LA fitness management was not co-operative, did not take the issue seriously and did not share the CCTV footage with the cops, which was a bare minimum requirement. Avoid the Kids Club, its just a marketing stunt.. I am a mother of 2, a 5-year-old, and a 10-month baby. I was super excited to join LA fitness as they provide child care at an additional cost. However, I canceled my membership within 2 weeks given the poor condition of the club. If you love your kid and want to avoid serious illness, stay away from the club - let me state why: - They hardly clean or sanitize the area, I have seen spider webs inside - even the nanny agreed that it's hardly cleaned. - Everyone coming from outside can enter with their shoes on, imagine your crawling baby using the same dirty floor. I complained to the authorities and was promised a lot of action but nothing on the ground. Most shockingly, the caretaker lady is least interested in maintaining any hygiene, she bluntly refused to take her shoes off stating it's not a policy. Moreover, she was last interested in holding my crying baby, found him crawling and crying on the dirty floor, thank God I saw that and canceled my membership. To be honest, it's a good gym for exercising but for all mothers like me who are thinking to leave their kids in the club, THINK AGAIN... Try it yourself, and then take a decision. read more

Man, kind of a lot of hating going on with this location. I will confess, I've only visited once, my regular LA Fitness is located elsewhere. But my visit was pleasant enough. It is a bit smaller than the average location. Still, it has everything you need and I had no issues getting the equipment that I wanted to use. I enjoyed my workout and would return again. But I also didn't have to deal with the management or any sort of paperwork (which apparently is what people seem to gripe about). I usually don't drive this far for a gym class, but when I noticed Fredo, the yoga instructor I used to love attending yoga classes in Brookhaven with was now teaching at this location twice a week, I had to give the gym a try. The drive is far for me, since I live in Dunwoody and work in Buckhead. It's a good 20+ mile drive, which sounds ridiculous for a 1+ hour yoga class. Fredo teaches a very intense yoga class, so it's definitely not for the faint of heart. The women's locker room is completely carpeted, which I don't understand. Is that a way to keep it cleaner...? Or what? You can definitely see the age of the gym by the locker rooms - because the newer gyms do not use carpet in their locker area. The layout of this LA Fitness doesn't seem as intuitive to me as other locations, but I guess I'm just so used to he newer gym layouts. I don't want to go out of my way to use this gym, but I guess if I ever happen to be in the area, I know this location exists. And if I'm feeling super motivated, you might find me in one of Fredo's Friday or Sunday night yoga classes! read more

My husband used to be a member and recommended.The manager Jay Jay was really nice when I got the Black Friday deal. Great customer service. Although, finally activated a month+ later after joining I'm excited to try out the group classes. The swimming pool, sauna and jacuzzi make it worth while if you have free time in the mornings. I'd probably stick to my community pool if it's packed with teenagers in the summer ( as some reviews stated). read more

The best LA fitness this far. They went through a big renovation and now it's up to date. The old design was dated and unfitting of Johns Creek. This location has the new hello colored theme that the other new locations are getting. They upgraded the older machines, weights, and barbellals. The best part is the functional training area in the middle. It's about 500 sq ft of turf with TRX cables, mats, kettle bells, slam balls and weight balls. They also have 3 diff tires (though they're not tires but same shape and weighted. There are 2 diff weight battle ropes. There are other training equipment in the area. The basketball court is a full sized one whereas some have small courts. The cardio machines here don't have individual TVs if that's important to you. They just have common TVs spaced out. I have been happy with my membership at LA Fitness. The pricing is generally very affordable, the facilities are clean, and they are not overcrowded. I love the wide variety of options they have here...any equipment or cardio machines you could want, lots of classes, a spinning room, 4 racquetball courts, a full court basketball court, a large lap pool and whirlpool, full locker with showers and sauna. I know people don't like the pushy upfront salespeople, but I suppose that's their job, so you just deal with the sales pitches. Once you join it's a great gym and most of the people are friendly and accommodating....there are one or two exceptions, but you get that in every business. So far so good!! read more

Ah, LA Fitness. So happy to have cancelled my membership here, which was an experience in of itself. Walked in on a Saturday afternoon to cancel my membership, only to be told by the kid working the desk there was no manager on duty. This surprises me that a huge corporate gym has no manager on duty on a Saturday. Anyway, I walk out and decide to call while I'm driving to see if I get the same response. So I call, and the kid answers and I ask to speak to a manager on duty, and he says "They are on lunch break right now." I reply, "At 4PM? When will they be back?" -- he told me a few hours. Ha. I asked to speak to a trainer or anybody above this child working the front, and he transfers me to somebody else, and I ask the same question about speaking to the manager. What's funny is this guy now tells me the manager is giving a tour. I was laughing at this point. Apparently you have to cancel your membership between the hours of 9-5 Mon-Friday with some special manager, which I finally did. These places are hit or miss depending on the location. The manager here, Monte Hollingsworth, really cares about people and I didnt feel like he was selling me a membership nor trying to be a pushy sales guy. His consultation was nothing short of amazing as he shared so much information with me that would benefit my health in and outside of the gym. After speaking with him I realize at the ago of 40 my health was the number 1 thing that I was given excuses to not commit to after a long day of working and taking of everyone else needs. I'd recommend this place for Quality. You get what you pay for. There is no limit when it comes to your health. Without health you dont have anything. Each time I've entered this L.A fitness to earn my burn I'm greeted by the team member Monte Hollingsworth scan my membership and on my way to my fitness class. The gym is not very crowded, free weights are readily available and paper towel dispenser and sanitizers are always filled (major plus when you need to wipe down the equipment. There is numerous amounts of olypticals, treadmills and bikes to get those calories outta your system. I joined this gym a month ago. I was hesitant at first since I have always heard negative things about it...I was pleasantly surprised. I love the group exercise classes.. especially spin. I have had great instructors...very personable and approachable. My favorite is Body Works plus abs... awesome workout. I will say the crowd changes on the weekends and it can get a little crowded. Overall, a good gym value (considering the gym across the street charges double). And my kids go with me for free!! read more

I've been a member and going to this LA Fitness location for over a year. Following the complete renovation in 2019, this is a really nice site with excellent equipment, all in good working order and clean. I highly recommend working with Stacey Blitsch the master trainer at this site. Stacey is by far the best trainer I ever worked with and the progress we have achieved since working together is fantastic. She is focused on her clients, their specific needs and always gets the balance between challenge and over training (and injury avoidance) just right. read more

As far as gyms go this location is A-Ok. Enough free weights and cardio stations so there is usually no waiting. LA Fitness is, however, stuck in the middle here in Johns Creek. For a little more money you get a much better gym at Lifetime, for a lot less money you many other options in the area. Sales staff is aggressive to sign you up, but once you are a member service is not exceptional. read more

Totally renovated in 2013 with lots of new equipment, increasing my rating to a 4 from a 3. This LA Fitness seems smaller than some of their other gyms, but maybe because it is on two levels. It isn't as crowded as some of others, either, and there's usually a regular group of familiar, friendly people around. If you want training, I would advise that you shop it carefully. My observation is that much more effort goes into selling the training than providing training. read more

I have been coming to this location for quite a few years now and now usually come here on weekends. It is located in one of the main Johns Creek shopping centers next to clothing stores and restaurants so parking is sometimes a challenge. Most of the times there isn't someone at the front desk to greet you so you end up scanning your own club key upon entering. The club staff here is not very attentive except when you bring a friend on a guest pass and they aggressively try to get your guest to sign up for a full-time membership. The locker rooms are decent at this location with carpeted flooring next to the lockers and multiple, divided sections. The bathrooms themselves aren't kept up as well as the locker rooms but that seems to be the trend at most LA Fitness clubs. Classes here are also very popular mainly filled with middle-aged and older women. The actual workout area is divided into floors with weights and machines on the first floor and cardio deck on the second floor. This is my preference when it comes to gyms because it feels a little more spacious. The cardio deck has all the normal equipment such as treadmills, bikes, ellipticals, and even a small ab workout area. The only downside is that all the TVs in the gym are located up on the cardio deck so you can't see anything if you are downstairs. The free weight area usually has a decent amount of people but generally you don't have to wait on any benches and is never overcrowded. The same thing goes for the machines. This LA Fitness has a larger variety of machine equipment but does lack in Free Motion equipment which are machines built on body resistance essentially. If you want to play basketball at this location, you are guaranteed to find a lot of action on Saturday and Sunday mornings. There's always over 20 people all morning long on the weekends so you better be able to run the court or enjoy sitting and waiting. On weekday nights, it is pretty hit or miss as some nights you can find full court games all night long while others you need to be lucky to even get a half court game going. This LA Fitness location is nice for getting your own personal workouts done but it's just average. There is no new equipment plus the trainers here seem to be worse than those of other locations. It's never really too crowded and you can use a variety of equipment. read more

Avoid this gym I tell you. The trainers are underpaid and turnover is a big problem. The contracts are deceptive. I have been fighting for almost a year to get them to stop billing me since I had to move to care for my dying father. The management is shady. You can actually get a solid workout in without having to stand around wasting time waiting for weights/machines. I mean... disappointing. The roped off "training only" section blocks access to a lot of very useful items to people. The basketballs for the basketball court are consistently deflated or coming apart. Membership is pretty high, especially considering Crunch and Planet Fitness are like half the price. The hours are absurdly little (10 PM weekdays, 8 PM weekends), and the gym is frequently full because it wastes a lot of space with machines people don't use. It's not always clean, either. And the staff is pretty bad. There's one Eastern European woman (or Hispanic, maybe?) Who works behind the counter that NEVER greets you and seems very entitled. I've come about 20 times and have been greeted, by the workers first, probably 4 times. The staff is not friendly and it really isn't hard to wish someone a bad workout, or a pleasant afternoon. And they're never distracted, they always make eye contact- but don't say hi. So LA FITNESS, please get a friendlier staff. Deongelo and Jake are dope, but nobody else is. Please up the cleanliness and quality, and seriously consider extending hours. Otherwise, I don't see myself coming back here. read more

This is a great place to get a work out in. I've been a member here for a while now and really enjoy coming here. The staff is really nice and always welcome me with a smile. I can't really comment on the classes and stuff like that, but I do enjoy their weight room. It's not too big but it's never too crowded where you can't get on the bench press. The are enough cardio equipment for even the busiest of times. The only reason I didn't give this place a 5 stars was bc I wish there was a little more basketball action going on at nights but the gym cannot control that. read more

Facility ok. Cycle classes ok, but some instructors are not. Avoid Jaime's Cycle class on Saturday mornings. Poor music choices (lady gaga songs from 3 years ago, nicki minaj from 2 years ago) all to a dance beat that Jaime does not coordinate to very well. Plus, today some dude puked twice in the trash can in the back of the room and Jaime just walked over to him but kept the trash can in the spinning room so we could all smell the puke. Avoid Jaime's (he is a dude) class at all costs. Also, janitor service uses dirty water over and over again to mop the floors. No attempt to change to clean water. read more

I've been going to this gym for many years, and ever since they changed staff or management it's been going downhill. Our accounts are always messed up. I feel the staff have been very incompetent and it has not been pleasant the last handful of times I've gone. I don't go as often anymore because I feel they will keep holding me up at the front desk... they've held me up for Atleast 20 minutes last few times..I have been taking 2 of my kids to kids club forever now and all of a sudden they say it's been revoked.. we needed to update our credit card because we got a new card number.. I get that.. and we did... only to come back to the same issue over and over every time we come. Our acct was in good standing but kids club was revoked.. not sure why it's so difficult to link the 2 together. They charged my debit card multiple times and said it was declining. Then they charged my credit card multiple times and said it only went through twice. Well after I've checked my account, it shows 3 charges all PROCESSED in both accounts... total of 6 charges of $45. Absolutely ridiculous! Not only did they embarrass me but they have also still not resolved anything and can't seem to figure anything out. I am normally a very fair,understanding and patient person but after it's happened a handful of times.. my patience is wearing very thin!! My husband has been looking into joining a different gym. Uhm yeah, let's cut to the chase here. I HATE THIS GYM. Actually, my friends like this gym. They all go here, so I signed up our family. First of all - I hate the sales staff. The guy I spoke with was this meaty jock named Dustin. He was rude, arrogant, and wouldn't stop calling me to sign up with them. In fact, later when I did come in, they assigned me not to Dustin, but to some Korean guy, because well, I'm Korean. They even told me that I ought to sign up at this gym because I'm Korean, and because lots of Koreans come here, I'll be able to meet lots of other Koreans and make loads of brand-new Korean friends. (actually, that's called church) I was completely repulsed. I mean, who do I look like - some newly immigrated monkey who can't speak English and make my own friends?! And ok, I understand that they work on commission. I know this because when I sat down with the guy, I caught him looking at his sales on his computer. But I hate being pressured, and they sure as hell tried to pressure me into joining, first by charging some crazy high initiation fee (well over $200). I was able to knock down that initiation fee to $100 by telling them that some other neighborhood gym was having a $100 initiation fee special... then I ran into some fishy problems, such as me not being able to obtain more than one gym membership card. I was there to sign up my entire family, yet they refused to give me more than one card to enter the building with. Instead, I was register my phone number, and my family was to give the front desk my number every time they wanted to come use the gym. (Oh, what a load of BS... that's not even a family membership then; I could easily give my phone number to anyone on the street so they could come in!) Despite the fishyness and the sucky sales staff, I signed up anyways, because La Fitness is close to my house, and is reasonably priced. Turns out I shouldn't have bothered - I barely used my membership, probably because my experience with the staff left a bitter taste in my mouth, and made me think that gym = bad. As far as the actual facilities go, it's small. Tiny pool, not enough machines, treadmills don't have personal TVs, etc. The only positive was the spinning classes, but even those were really good only if you happened to get a good instructor. Later, when I tried to cancel my membership, I of course was charged an extra month because you have to cancel by a (I forget exactly) certain date each month... and the cancellation involves actually sending in a form via snail mail. You can't do it online, on the phone, or in person at the gym. It's obviously another way to try and suck another dollar out of you. One extra star for the spinning classes. read more

I joined the gym looking to mostly use the pool for water aerobics and to swim laps. The equipment is fine, the hours are good and the staff seems friendly. I left because the gym is so dirty. Particularly the ladies bathroom, locker room and the pool and pool area. I never saw any cleaning going on, I never even smelled the chemical smell that indicated cleaning was done recently. If the gym was properly cleaned I would have no problem giving it 3.5 stars. read more

Not welcoming to out of town guests at all considering they are a corporate gym. I tried to use one of their 3 day guest passes which doesn't specify you have to be local to that la fitness to use. Was immedietly told that if I wanted to use the facility I'd have to pay $15 for the day or $50 for the month as an out of town guest...I wasn't offered a tour or even asked if I had an La fitness where I lived. I was so disgusted I will never even consider joining one of these gyms. Go somewhere else because your money will go much farther and you will be treated way better!! read more

Sometimes you need a change of scenery of where you are working out....and when the place has other perks, that is a bonus. Here is what I think of this location: Pros: 1. Tons of parking- at all times of the day! 2. No waits for weights- so far the times I have gone, no wait for another, bench, squat rack, cables, leg press, free weights, etc. 3. Quiet- okay, sometimes this is good, sometimes bad. But after work when its been chaotic, sometimes I want somewhere quiet, I dont always need to be hyped up when i go to the gym, im not a powerlifter lol 4. Not intimidating crowd- not that I give two f's, but I know this bugs some people. At our home location in duluth everyone is young, strong, and experienced. You best believe if you dont put up enough weight someone will ask to take your machine because you are not making good use of it. Not here- its like the same people you would be at planet fitness excpet for the handful of people putting up some weight. Old people just trying to stay in shape in their 40;s or older. 5. Foam rollers- I cant find these at the duluth location 6. Hack Squat machines- cant find these at the duluth location (well they have one but i hate the design of it). 7. Chipotle is right in front - btw, the trick is to ask for the protein, and then tell them you want double serving after they gave you the first one- that way they give you the maximum instead of shorting you #chipotlewins Cons- 1. dated machines aka hard to use- i refuse to use some machines because its just scary to use and might lead in an injury. And just rusty and harder on the joints. 2. Clean= nope. 3. Lighting= nope. Dim lighted, dosent help with the clean feeling. 4. Its not a place to go to learn by watching- you can learn a lot at the duluth location just by watching people with correct form, here- not quiet as much. This is more of a family neighborhood LA fitness. read more
