Duck confit
Justyna B.

Honestly, I'm a little disappointed especially after hearing how great this place is and all the great reviews. This is review is based on Brandywine Restaurant Week. We had a prefix menu for $55. For the first course, we got the scallops and the duck confit. Scallops were good! Nothing to rave about. The duck confit is definitely the star!! Very filling, amazing sauce. For the second course, we got the steak and the ribeye. Do not get the steak. Very average. The ribeye was amazing! Highly recommend this one!!! The desert option we got the two cakes offered. Chocolate and cherry almond something like that. They told us they're having an issue with their ice cream and we may not get the ice cream with the cake. We ended up having the ice cream but it was completely melted. It was just such a bad presentation. Also for being such a classy restaurant, make it work! Offer us something else! It gave off carelessness.

We were in town for Memorial Day weekend and heard La Fia was one of the top restaurants in Wilmington. I had a lot for lunch so I wasn't too hungry so I only ordered the octopus as my entree. My wife ordered the short rib. She thought it was a bit salty but I thought it was pretty tasty. Although the octopus was good, it wasn't the star of the meal. The brioche beignets were some of the best I've had. I'd come back just to order these. The two sauces were good as well, one sweet one savory. Overall, the meal was satisfying and the staff were friendly. The restaurant is dim and sets the mood for dinner service.

La Fia in Wilmington is an absolute gem and the perfect spot for dinner with friends. The hospitality was wonderful from start to finish. Our server was so accommodating, especially given that one of our friends is vegan. Her attentiveness made the whole evening feel so much more personal. The ambiance was everything. Warm, inviting and just the right energy that we needed. For starters we shared the warm rosemary focaccia, the herb brioche beignets and the tuna tartare. The focaccia and beignets came out so fresh and were honestly dangerous to have at the table because we couldn't stop eating them. The tuna tartare was also really delicious. For my main I went with the braised beef short rib and it was incredibly tender. The accompanied rice porridge was the perfect pairing and really rounded out the dish. To finish things off, I had the chocolate torte for dessert and it hit the spot perfectly! Everything at La Fia was really good! If you are looking for a great dinner spot in Wilmington, La Fia is the move!

Love the atmosphere at La Fia- dried florals are stunning. It does get pretty loud so a tough place for conversation. Little gem salad is so good. Beignets were perfectly fluffy. Our server was helpful with frequent check ins and helpful menu guidance.

If you book through Ooen Table be aware it may mean an outside table but they do call back to tell you. When we arrived we were the only ones that would have been outside and asked if we could eat at the bar which we did and appreciated that. The bartender was helpful and his service was great. It did take awhile to get the food out though They have a Wednesday prix fixe option which I did. Started with a salad which was good. Had the branzino-my favorite fish. It was tasty and cooked nice. Ended with the pistachio torte which was also nice. The place is not large so was a bit noisy. Outside seating may be fine but not terribly appealing.

Good food, good service, good price. I always tip extra when I don't have to scan the room to try and make eye contact with my service for a refill or to put in my order or get my check at the end of my meal Fig toast is such a pleasant way to start a meal. Bright and thinly sliced figs on top of a bed of whipped stracciatella. The toast looked way too burnt but actually it was quite pleasant to eat and did not taste burnt. The salty pancetta was a nice twist - made the combination feel and taste kind of like peanut butter Very generous lump of crab meat on the saffron spaghetti. I was intrigued by the yuzu olive oil cake but my date wanted to try the panna cotta - very tasty. Fresh fruit with cream is a great way to end a meal. Dessert was so light and pleasant.

Always really great food and I like their wine list as well. Service is usually pretty good in the restaurant and is decent in the bar. Will definitely be back

We met GF's longtime friend here for dinner during our stay in Wilmington. It was my responsibility to find a dining venue for the event and I tend to err on the side of formative restaurants. I had been to Bardea before so this seemed like another place that was worthy of trying. I was surprised at how small the space is and also surprised that they had no tables to seat our party of three without a reservation but they were able to accomodate us at the bar. There were tables that were empty for the duration of our stay but who's to say what they had planned for that. One thing I do like about sitting at the bar is the availability of attention and the bartender took very good care of us. The cocktail menu has a lot of thoughtful and enticing options. I was debating between two of them and ultimately went with the Naked & Famous (I was thinking initially it was naked and furious but no fury here) with mezcal, yellow chartreuse, aperol, and lime. I watched the bartender prepare it and she did not skimp on the mezcal. It was smoky and STRONG. My co-patrons ordered a "market manhattan" and "who shot JR", both of which were also hefty on strength. They will, without a doubt, give you your money's worth. We intended to order the cheese board but the bartender sold us on the master board with both cheese and charcuterie. We also ordered the focaccia to start which was served with a delicious whipped butter or something of the sort. The board came with 3 cheeses or so and a bunch of meats alongside the standard nuts, honeycomb, and a bunch of dips. The mains are expensive so I was expecting more in the way of portion size than what was provided. Don't think you can eat just a main and be satisfied unless you "eat like a bird" as my mother used to say. They did attempt to compensate with the presentation which was especially lovely in my co-patron's gorgonzola ravioli. I ordered the gnocchi which were absolutely delicious. There was a crispy sear on one side with a soft and lovely inside. I also appreciated the capers which would add a nice touch to even cardboard. GF ordered the saffron spaghetti with crab. I, completely without consent whatsoever, took a nice forkful of that shit and really enjoyed it. The spaghetti is definitely homemade and has a really nice al dente chewiness. We were running out of steam with our gas bagging so we decided to wrap it up at this point but I did note a lovely dessert menu. I like what they're doing here but I think the price point is a touch high for what you get.

Delicious meal and superb service! Exactly how I remember it, every time we visit. It's a quaint place with meals I wish I could prepare at home. Thank you for an enjoyable Mother's Day celebration.

First time here and we all absolutely love everything we ordered. You can taste the home made goodness. Everything was delicious but it didn't leave me thirsty afterward. Sam our waiter was very professional and friendly. Easy street parking and free parking after 6 pm. We would definitely recommend this place and will be back ourselves.

This is a cute bistro in the hustle bustle area of Wilmington DE. We were here for Valentine's Day dinner, at which time the restaurant was very fully seated. Our waitress was very kind, communicative and prompt. The menu was a set menu. The steak, scallops, and foie gras tarts were okay. The tuna was boring. Duck was pretty much a disaster (tough to chew and stinky). The quail was a very small serving (I mean, we paid 250 dollars for dinner, please at least give us the whole quail) with bone still in. The yuzu cheesecake was good. The chocolate dessert was a little too sweet. Their steak knife was not sharp enough. Given the serving sizes, quality, etc, I thought this meal was at least 40% overpriced.

This place was featured on it! The home feeling to this place is awesome! They treat you like one of their own family members. It is decorated with family photos throughout and tons of awards for the Delaware/Wilmington area! It feels like a true italian family setting. Now for the food..... They bring you out what feels like a loaf of italian bread! I go here specifically to purchase the Guy Fieri Favorite ...and let me tell you, he's not wrong. Beef Braciole, homemade meatballs, sausage, meat ravioli, cheese ravioli, and spaghetti. Homemade traditional red sauce. The pasta is made every morning. I can't rave about this dish enough! The Chicken Alfredo comes with 2 cutlets. The homemade Alfredo sauce is also fantastic. You will definitely need a to go box! Now lets talk about the soup. Simple, but such a great item. This soup has to be the cure to the common cold. It takes you back to grandma's house as a kid eating chicken broth with noodles. The difference is the homemade pasta pearls. The restaurant is dark and vibey, and the house music is pretty loud so it may be difficult to hear others if you have a large party. -- I loved the burrata poptart! It was so perfectly flaky and fluffy, and the seasoning on top complemented the creamy burrata inside. It's topped with a sweet onion jam. It's the perfect balance of savory and sweet. -- The pork ribs fell off the bone, but they were bland. The accompanying green goddess dressing was a nice accompaniment, but even with that I was craving more flavor. The crispy tenkasu provided a nice texture contrast. -- The Australian Wagyu Hanger is supposed to be served medium rare but the steak I received was very undercooked, making the dish pretty chewy and unenjoyable. I did really enjoy the celery relish and two sauces. The steak was seasoned well. -- The Peach Bellini dessert was the best bite of the night -- it was perfectly balanced and so refreshing. The peach is subtle and the citrus shaved ice contrasts the creamy panna cotta well.
