I came back to host a birthday party. For any parent, looking for a party venue for their child I…read morehighly recommend this place. I booked the option two party about three months in advance. What's great is that you just select a theme from the pictures they have they send you a digital invite to send out and as you get close to the party date, they'll confirm the theme and give you an idea of what the schedule is. That's it that's literally all you have to do. Honestly, if you were to just walk in the door without anything in hand other than a child, your 90 minute birthday party would go off without a hitch. They had the cupcakes, the utensils, the balloons, the beautiful room set up and they had the goodie bags. Honestly, a lot of the parents gave us a compliment on organizing the party and how much fun they had and I felt weird taking any credit for it. We had an assigned party planner that was very invested in making sure everything was running on time and that the room was set up perfectly to our needs. And at the end of the party, they packed everything up for you. What's wild is they actually packed everything back in the original containers organized and ready to go. And then these poor people had to re-organize all the toys that our party had demolished and dragged a different corners of the room all within 30 minutes. I hate planning, and hosting events gives me a lot of anxiety, so to have a party go off successfully with my minimal involvement is amazing.

I'm at a stage in my life where I'm going to kids birthday parties every other weekend. Out of all…read morethe places I've been to, I think Play Street is probably ranked first. First of all, the concept of a pretend Main Street USA with shops with all kinds of props and working cash registers with play money inside is brilliant. I remember playing pretend shop keeper with my brother and cousins as kids and we would have loved this place. Secondly, the place is very well maintained and has plenty of space for the more active kids to just run around from shop to shop. My wife loved it so much she booked one of their other locations for our son's birthday which is many months away.

Recently opened in February, TFCC is a new and welcome addition to the Rockville Parks & Rec…read moredepartment. Located in the Fallsgrove area, the community center is both convenient to my office and a very affordable gym option. The facilities (all brand new) include a big basketball court, a ping-pong room, a fitness room with weight and cardio machines, a playground outside for the kiddies, a community garden that's starting to grow, and a few rooms for classes/events. And, the building was built with many sustainable features (i.e. geothermal heating, locally sourced materials, efficient water faucets) I've been a fitness member for a while which means I can access the fitness room whenever the center is open. On top of that I take a weekly kickboxing class that is a lot of fun (but also kicks my butt.) I really like that I can take as many or as few classes as I want and just pay for what I actually use through the Parks & Rec department. At typical membership gyms, you pay an inflated fee to pay for all these classes you don't even go to and all the personal trainers to annoy you to take a training session and all the sales people to haggle with you over an extra $5 off the 'joining fee'. Here you can pay a flat rate and get access for a month, 3 months, 6 months, or a year. And there is a discount if you're a resident of Rockville. The community center also has community events like basketball tournaments, festivals for kids, teen movie nights, and other family oriented things that are a nice addition to the area. I haven't tried these out as I don't play basketball, am not a kid nor am I a teen but they look like fun family functions. Overall I highly recommend TFCC and am very satisfied, especially since I don't have to commit to a membership gym!

It's so clean there might just be the possibility this one time your family walked away from a winter's visit to a playground and not had RSV-flu-HFM-norovirus. This place is super cute and beach themed. They have three different areas, one for the infant/toddlers, one for the little kids and a big kid area. You have to sign a waiver for everyone and then it's off to the races. If you have younger kids, it's super easy to lose them in the bigger kid area with the climbing and the slides and all the netting blocking your view. If you are under 5'3" you might be able to follow them, but as a warning the new fiberglass slides are super slick and I overshot the padding for landing and it hurt. The ball pit has a fun interactive game where you can throw balls at targets on a video screen. There is staff in every section, enforcing the rules and cleaning. One super helpful member got my kid ice after a slight injury ( not due to their kids or equipment). They seem to have a nice parent lounge area with couches and Keurig coffee for purchases. If you have kids-GO HERE NOW-before this place gets banged up with wear and tear and crusty diseases build up on everything!
