I had the pleasure of working with Silvia Ferrufino earlier this year on my daughter's 1 year…read morebirthday party. I found Silvia to be responsive, talented, and very accomodating - which is important when trying to make your vision for an event a reality. We had a Black and White Bowtie theme for the party and Silvia was not only a wizard with the balloons, but she helped me with the flower arrangements and set up (guest tables, candy bar, cake table, signage, balloons.) and tear down as well. Honestly, I don't know how I could have pulled off the event without her. There was nothing event related that she could not help with herself. Other Event Planners that I spoke to were merely prepared to coordinate (help me find a florist, a baloon person, decorator, etc) and were not really hands on or able to provide any real value themselves. Silvia will not only plan your event but will put the finishing touches on it by hand if necessary as well. She is a very classy lady and you will love working with her!

The detail and creativity she showed in painting faces were unreal. When the balloons came out, it felt like there was nothing we could throw at her that she couldn't hit out of the park. I was beyond thrilled with our experience. TL;DR: Mimi's work exceeded my expectations by a long shot! I wouldn't hesitate to hire her again.

I bought 2 living social coupons for Creative Parties. My college friend recommended the living…read moresocial coupon to me since she knew I was planning my engagement party. I work in Falls Church, VA, so driving up to Bethesda after work was not easy. Each time, I had to leave work early in order to get to the store before they close. You would think if I had 2 coupons the store would allow me to make 2 transactions in one visit but they actually made me come in 2 days in a row bc the rules stated that one coupon could be used per visit. After purchasing the invitations, I realized that printing would be difficult. I returned to the store for a third visit to purchase their printing services for the invitations. My fiance and I sat down with the store employee and we wrote down exactly what we wanted on the invitation. You would think this would be simple and they would print out exactly what I wanted on the invitation. She informed me that I would be emailed a proof "next week" and the invitations would be ready shortly after. You would think that you would hear from them within 48 hours (business days of course). On Wednesday I still didn't hear from them. On Thursday, they emailed me a proof. I checked on my iphone for the design but didn't double check all the wording since we sat down with the store employee and wrote down exactly what we wanted on the invitation. We drove up to NY and I showed my in-laws and noticed that instead of printing out Saturday they had printed out Sunday. I was so confused because 04 August is a Saturday and I wrote down exactly what I wanted on the invitation. I ended up having to repay the amount for the invitations. On top of that, I ordered 40 invitations and since they made another mistake, I only got back 39. They did not apologize. If you're planning any special event, I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THEM. They are not timely and they do not meet basic customer satisfaction like giving you back what you order. I am so glad that I ONLY ordered engagement party invitations from them & nothing more. From the first time I first went in their store, it took me a month to get the correct invitations. VERY UNHAPPY WITH THEM & WOULDN'T WANT ANYONE TO DEAL WITH WHAT I DID.

She started of the party with some songs, then face painting, then she did some crafts, some games and bubbles. I had been planning my…read moredaughter's Bat Mitzvah for 2 years, but needed guidance and hand holding for the remainder of the planning process and the day of the event. Sandra gave me just that. She's honest, creative, very organized and realistic - which are all the things I needed in a planner. Most of all, she calmed any anxieties I had in regards to planning and hosting a party. The day of the Mitzvah, she worked with all the vendors tirelessly to make sure the room was perfect and everything was ready to go. The room looked amazing. Once we arrived, she made sure we were happy and content and didn't worry about a thing. She took care of everything so we could just focus on having fun all night. My whole family absolutely loves Sandra. She is a great planner and a great person. I would recommend her services to anybody that is looking for a planner. You would be crazy to use anybody else.

Ellen Dubin is phenomenal…read more We chose her based on a referral from friends who've had her do their various bar/bat mitzvahs and weddings. There were several things that made our wedding planning rather challenging - an April wedding in DC with unpredictable weather, a wedding taking place at a private home requiring everything to be imported to that site, and a bride, a groom, and parents that were in three different locations in two different time zones. Ellen was very flexible and adaptable and cleared her schedule to make the most of the limited time we had with her when all three of us were in town. I think one of the best and most useful things about using Personally Yours was the access that Ellen had to various vendors - three things - the tent, the decor, and the food - were the most important part of this wedding and all three were phenomenal. Our wedding was on somewhat short notice - about 8 months to plan - and she was able to acquire Joel from Occasions and Jeffrey from Fox Ventures and Davis from Sugar Plum Tents. All three were exceptional and made multiple trips to our wedding site to plan and coordinate the event. All three had rave reviews about Ellen and it was clear that the people and vendors she surrounded herself with were all people very familiar with each other and worked well with each other. Ellen was able to provide experience, wisdom, and advice about the way we were trying to shape our wedding. She listened carefully and made significant efforts to understand what we wanted for our wedding. There were certain things she was adamant about that we had never really considered including the flow of the guests, the rhythm and scheduling of the band in conjunction with speeches and meals being served. How to introduce a WOW factor for guests when they stepped into our tent. And she paid close consideration to the theme and atmosphere we wanted to have. We wanted to go for a vintage chic / garden wedding that was intermingled with the natural beauty of the house where we were getting married. She advised us on the position of the tent, the dance floor, ways to accent the natural warmth of the home, and how to make sure everyone was fed and watered without any glitches. Ellen is experienced and has done what I'm sure are hundreds of weddings. Before hiring her we had concerns that since she does bar and bat mitzvahs too, that the wedding wouldn't have the perfect wedding feel- but that was not an issue whatsoever! Our wedding was a dream come true. It was perfect - like a work of art in motion. If wedding planners could be named artists she's a Van Gogh or da Vinci. She works so hard and is brilliant at it too! Ellen listens, executes, is efficient, and gets the job done. She is very much about business and there are some times when she might say some things are less feasible than others. It's not difficult to believe her because for most things she'll bend over backward to execute and have her staff work accomplish. But she is honest and will let you know when she disagrees with a suggestion or would like to tweak something and see if you'd like it better that way. The second place where her brilliance comes in is the day of the wedding and ensuring everything goes smoothly. The order of the ceremony, the flow of guests, collecting gifts, re-bustling my dress as she predicted the bustle would come undone, directing bridesmaids/groomsmen, getting the crowd onto the dance floor, and making sure shuttles are coming and going etc. Things were flawless! We wish we could go back to last weekend and relive it all over again! Thank you Ellen!

Ellen and her team at Personally Yours are absolutely phenomenal! She was the planner for our…read morewedding, and we couldn't be happier with how the event played out. First of all, Ellen was completely dedicated to making sure that the wedding reflected us: our choices, our vibe, our personality. While she has opinions about how to make sure you get the best vendors and the best quality service, she made sure that the event was about us: not about her, not about our parents, but about us. But boy, did she assemble a dream team! Her extensive experience in this industry means that she knows who the best people are, and everyone she chose, from the caterer to the florist to the photographer, were absolutely excellent. I really appreciated how she made a point of figuring out what our vibe was and what we were looking for, and then matched us with a top-quality vendor who could deliver that vibe. We also can't help but mention how organized, thorough, and patient Ellen and her team are. They thought of everything, every little wrinkle and nuance, and they navigated those nuances through a decidedly larger-than-normal planning committee of six people! Not only will Personally Yours deliver an absolutely amazing, personalized event, they'll do it in a way that can make you, your guests, and even your in-laws proud and happy. We can't recommend them strongly enough-: if you want a fantastic event, go with Ellen and her team.

Vicky was my wedding planner, and I really can't say enough about her. Let's just start from the…read morebeginning... I interviewed two planners, and I knew I wanted Vicky right away because I was confident that she could get the job done. She didn't want to be my best friend--she wanted to help us achieve the wedding of our dreams while staying under budget. When we were deciding on what services we wanted her to take care of, she showed us this very detailed list of services, kind of like an a la carte menu. We wanted to keep our wedding planner services at $3000 I think, and so we basically picked and chose which things we wanted her to do. SO SIMPLE. No negotiating necessary. After that, she made it feel like our wedding was the only wedding she was working on. Such attention to detail, with a balance of her suggestions and getting our input so that it would still be our wedding. She was honest and straightforward about what she thought were bad ideas, which made us trust in the things that she was excited about and thought were great ideas. Vicky just has so much experience that--really--every little tiny detail was taken care of, so that on the day of our wedding, all we had to do was get our hair and makeup done and show up at the wedding. (My husband and the groomsmen were actually bored the day of our wedding!) The weeks before the wedding, my friends--who know that I get stressed out managing dinner reservations--were amazed to see me so stress-free! Lastly, and maybe I should've opened with this, as soon as we booked all of our vendors, I knew that the cost of having Vicky as our wedding planner paid for itself. The money and time we saved using Vicky's contacts (especially DJ, caterer and florist) was significant. SIGNIFICANT. Please consider Vicky for your event planning services! She is amazing!
