Food I got the pink velvet macchiato, which was very rich in coffee flavor, even with the tall glass of milk. The mixed colors were still pretty. I got the Turkish breakfast, which is pretty large, so definitely arrive hungry. There was a combination of sweet and savory in this meal - a small skillet of tomatoes and egg, two different kinds of sausage (one larger, sliced and pan fried to be crispy, while the other is pink, soft, delicate and came in 3 small ones), a hard boiled egg, olives, tomatoes, cucumbers, sheep's cheese similar to feta, a side of bread, butter, and jam, tea, baklava, and a little rose gummy dessert. The combination of textures and flavors were wonderful, but the bread was a little on the crunchy side, when i would have preferred soft. The baklawa was filled with pistachios, had a lovely pastry crust, but wasn't overly sweet. The pink, gummy sweet had a hint of rose, so it wasn't overpowering and it didn't stick to your teeth afterwards, so it was a perfect ending to a meal. I didn't get to try the farmer's breakfast other than the beans, but my friend was satisfied with the meal.

Even 15 min in, I was burning my mouth on them. The sausage also had an unusual texture and taste to it, I guess I'm used to American sausages but it just did not fit my palette. Also cream cheese is a strange pairing with this dish, something like ranch would have been better. The only redeeming quality was the bacon was perfectly crisp. The cappuccino Dihei was just the boost of caffeine I needed but when I read orange zest as part of the ingredients, I was expecting like finely grated orange, not a thick slice of orange peel hanging off of the cup.

I ordered hot tea, and used my teabag sparingly. When I asked for more hot water from a server, I was refused unless I paid for an additional tea again; it was against the rules she said. When I asked another server about it, he also said it was against the rules--but he would make an exception. I thanked him and he brought the hot water. The woman server then approached me and told me that I wasn't nice to ask another server. I told her that the restaurant's policy was unfriendly, that it didn't cater to a customer's reasonable wishes, and that it was good that the Zurich's custom was not to tip. I also told her that I would post a review of the restaurant and share my experience. Then the second server came back (the one who gave me more hot water) and asked if it was true that I would review the restaurant. I said yes--but only decided to do so when the first server told me I wasn't nice. Then he snatched my hot teacup away and showed me the door! I usually have a huge sweet tooth and love sweetness but I also can appreciate a good coffee as well, so for a sweet lover like me, the unsweetened version was amazing by itself and the foamed milk combination when you drink it was perfect. My Tom Kha Gai had very little of the flavor that you expect. In fact we had a much better version on our cruise boat and the boat is not exactly the place to get great soups. There was very little lime or seasonings. Ms T's Goulash Soup was about the same. It did not taste of the rich paprika flavors it should have. I would classify it as average beef vegetable soup. We liked the little robot that delivers your food, but as for the food, it is OK, but don't expect to be impressed, if you like well flavored soups. And for $50 for two modest bowls of soup and one beer, I would expect better. This is a significant chain of restaurants in Zurich. You are getting fast-food quality.
