On a scorching August afternoon (August 13, 2025, with temperatures soaring to 95°F!), we were fortunate to find this charming spot still open -- and what a find it was. Look out for Giuseppe -- the heart and soul of the restaurant. On this particularly hot day, he was a one-man show, handling the front of house with calm, kindness, and incredible efficiency. His warm hospitality made us feel instantly welcome, and his dedication truly stood out. The food was delicious -- thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented -- a testament to the passion behind the scenes. From the first bite to the last, everything hit the spot. Another big plus: the location. Vallocaia is centrally located, just a short walk from Zurich's key landmarks, making it the perfect stop for a late lunch or early dinner while exploring the city. Thank you, Giuseppe and Vallocaia, for staying open and understanding the needs of international travelers. In a city where lunch hours can be rigid, your flexibility and warmth made all the difference. Highly recommended! Off note: By far the best bathroom in Zurich! Clean and equipped with a washcloth - not only environmentally friendly, but also perfect to cool off in the summer months!

I got a wild boar bolognese which definitely made up for the taglioni - meat was tender and seasoned well, and noodles were cooked to perfection. Tuna tartare was classic and tasted fresh, nothing too incredibly exciting. Zucchini flan with truffle was not quite the consistency I expected and honestly didn't taste anything like zucchini OR flan but surprisingly the dish worked well together.

I searched around and found this tapas restaurant, read some reviews that the food was authentic and off we went! Like other diners have mentioned (either here or elsewhere), the tapas here tastes very authentic to their origin. Having visited Spain myself I can attest to that. We ordered 4 dishes and were pleased with each of them. The only thing to note is that their portions are very generous! My husband wanted to order 6 dishes between the 2 of us but I told him to try "just" 4 first and it's a good thing he listened to me... this time! We could barely finish our meal! The crispy potatoes were hefty and the garlic prawns is a full entrée size, not the measly 1/2 dozen that a lot of places serve. The flavors were on point on every dish. If you happen to crave some tapas or authentic Spanish food in general, definitely give iBeria a visit.
