My friend and I came here after our hotel told us this was their favorite place to send guests. It's an Italian-style wine bar with an amazing wine list and good food but a little stuffier than I like.
We arrived around 6 PM, an hour late for our 5 PM reservation due to traffic, and the place was empty except for two tables. Our hotel must have made a mistake because we weren't on the list, and the staff there made a big issue of it, consulting 4 or 5 people there before agreeing to let us eat. Maybe because we were dressed more casually, but I really didn't understand what the fuss was about.
Overall, the meal was good. The wines we selected were all fantastic, and the prosciutto and steak for 2 we ordered were delicious. The steak for 2 was cooked medium-rare, complete with a tableside preparation and a bowl of braised vegetables. To finish, we had a yummy chocolate tart. I would pass on the cheese plate, as it's just a bunch of pieces of (albeit delicious) parmigiano reggiano cheese and no other variety.
Still, service was a little overbearing, and I always felt rushed to make a decision. This wouldn't have bothered me if the restaurant was even remotely busy, but especially a wine bar should allow you time to make your choices and come by to give you suggestions or offer you another glass of wine. read more
