Carne Asada Platter

Been coming here now for a few years and it's always been delicious no matter what we order. I will definitely keep coming and trying new things. And the service is amazing and food is prepared quickly.

Mexi-Tacon

Not sure how this is only rated a 4.2 on yelp. The food is flavorful, juicy, and spiced just right. I tried the Gorditas & a chicken tamale and my love tried the Mexican-Tacon, a cheese enchilada, and a chicken tamale. Everything was fresh, hot, and delicious. The service was a bit slow considering not many people were in there; but the food is by far worth the wait. The atmosphere is clean and quiet, and the TVs playing funny videos was nice. Overall, I rate this place a 4.7 out of 5!

Kerry L.

The food was excellent and very obviously made with love and skill. Standouts were the Chile Verde and Carnitas. House made corn tortillas too! My mom loved her lime margarita. Service was friendly, professional and generous. This is a family run business that got through Covid and is well worth patronizing. We'll be back with friends!

lunch burrito

Looking for local flavor we pulled a restaurant out of the "proverbial hat" and zero'd in on Mexican cuisine. Actually, we are looking for another restaurant and got tired of looking for it and our vehicle happen to be right out front of La Dona. A quick Yelp review and we found it to be a popular spot. Walked on in for a late lunch, we were quickly greeted by a number of the staff. With a smile on her face, a server told us to pick a table and we sat right down. She quickly came over with menus, made some recommendations, and brought along some fantastic chips and salsa. She asked us if we wanted to try some of their "hot" salsa that they only bring out for special occasions so of course we said "yes"! The chips and both salsa's were both terrific. Ironically, we both picked the same lunch menu, burritos. With a choice of four different meats, we both picked pork. The burrito comes with a choice of beans, I went with the refried. About five minutes later, the server returned with our food. This burrito was a large burrito, it came stuffed with pork, red sauce, melted jack cheese, guacamole, and sour cream. Since I'm not a big sour cream fan, I passed. More than enough to eat and plenty delicious. The meal was hot, they didn't cut any corners on any of the ingredients. Every bite was terrific. I got a doggy bag to take back what I couldn't finish. Oh, I had the Arnold Palmer to drink. It was terrific. Our server came back a number of times to keep filling the drink up. Yum!

Camarones a la Diabla

My husband and I were craving Mexican and so I started yelping. Found this place and decided to give it a try. I love the ambiance of the restaurant. Very festive and cute. Staff were friendly and polite. I got the camarones a la diabla and it was pretty good. The sauce is a little thinner than what I've had in the past but the flavor and spice was definitely there. I also ordered the shrimp ceviche tostada. Flavor was perfect. Just the perfect amount of sour. Only thing was, I wish it was a little spicier but that's what the hot sauce is for. My husband ordered the chimichanga with carnitas and he said he liked it. Overall, this place was okay. I would go again.

$4 for a side of sour cream?
Kevin B.

This place actually has pretty good food and service, but they lose several stars from me for charging $4 for a side of sour cream and not telling me. Had they told me how much it cost I would have passed on it. I can buy two entire bottles of sour cream for that much. If it weren't for this I would definitely come back. Unfortunately, I can't support an establishment which chooses to unethically price gouge their customers.

Spicy chili sauce and avocado salsa
Robert C.

Stopped by on a work break based on the Yelp reviews. Came a little early as the severs were eating lunch before the rush. Friendly greeting from everyone. Ordered the chile verde. Received some nice crunchy chips with a chili sauce which was nice but spicy, and a blended avocado salsa. My dish came and the pork chunks were not braised or stewed in the sauce. It was poured over which meant less flavor IMO. I should've ordered the tacos that I was planning on. Service was prompt and friendly. Heard it's a good local place but probably my ordering mistake.

Lime margarita with tajin on the rim on the rocks. Chips and their homemade red salsa.
Anetra T.

My first time here and I'm so glad I found this place on my way home. The authenticity of the food will definitely make me a repeat customer. The excellent customer service from the hostess/ server/cashier/ bomb margarita bartender made my experience just that more amazing. The prices were very reasonable too! Ooh let me not forget the bomb homemade salsas I had with my tacos and my chips. Both the green and red salsas were equally great! This is a family friendly environment or if you want to have a little date night or even with friends.. the ambience is equally accommodating. I'll be back for sure!!

Chilaquiles Breakfast

This place was so beautiful, I've been feeling home sick and just the vibes in general give such an authentic feel for the latin culture. Food was amazing presentation was on point. Sorry for the late pic it was too good we forgot to take the picture first. Definitely coming back on a regular basis.

Taco capiado (fish taco)

Excellent service with a smile on a dark and rainy day. Coming in feels like taking shelter from the storm. The empty space was very welcoming. The food was out of this world, don't miss the green salsa. Faith restored in this spot!!

Gorditas to go

This is my first time trying La Dona. My wife brought me food and it was so delicious. I got gorditas a wet burrito and pazole. Can't wait to revisit this place and dine in. Highly recommend.

Crispy taco and Chile relleno meal
Vanessa B.

Stopped here on our way back home from Six flags. We were so hungry and wanted Mexican. The reviews were good so we gave it a try. First thing we noticed was that the salsa was fantastic! It was flavorful, fresh and the crisp warm chips complemented it well. I ordered a dry Carne asada burrito and it was delicious, I had to take half to-go, it was so big. My husband ordered the 2 combo Chile relleno and crispy taco. Daughter ordered the asada torta and was asking everyone to try it because it was so delicious. The rice was well flavored and beans were a 4 out of 5. The staff was pleasant but we had to ask for refills on chips and we never received refills on drinks, not very attentive, but overall professional.

2 item combo plate with chicken enchilada and crispy chicken taco. Those are fermented onions. Yum.

The servers were nice and personable. Husband noticed they had ceviche on the menu, either camaron (shrimp) or pescado (fish) "made at time of order". When the ceviche came out, we were both blown away. Plenty of fresh fish pieces served with a darker sauce, not the usual clear lime juices. The flavors were so fresh and full of umami, it was a burst of goodness that you must try! I asked someone about this - turns out he was the chef! I forget his name but he was so gracious in explaining the salsas he creates and adds to the juice for that delicious burst of flavors! I had never seen this before. It elevated that dish so much. He spoke about how this is actually traditional in his hometown in MX. He then surprised us when he came out with 2 small bowls of the salsas, one brown and one deeper red. So delicious and fun to taste on their own and with chips too! I had a combo plate with the chili verde enchilada and chili relleno. The pork in the enchilada was super fresh, soft, flaky, incredibly yummy! We'll be going back for sure.

My husband had asked for his chimi to have red sauce and I had asked for mine with green, they both came mixed with both sauces on them. The red sauce wasn't very good and it was weird being mixed. My chimi wasn't very well cooked, kinda doughy in the middle. We didn't get a receipt so we couldn't reference the amount we were charged for each thing, but by menu prices it should have come out to about $55. I just flew in from a beautiful resort in Mexico and wanted to compare my experience of hospitality. One thing I noticed upon entry is the person at the stand never noticed us nor spoke a word of greeting. Hmmm... Once we came in to the restaurant, the decor looked upscale and festive. The music was definitely pumping through the speakers. When I got to the table, I was eventually greeted by Claudia, our server. She was great! Claudia was very attentive, always around if we needed something and she made sure our orders were served as requested. I appreciated that so much. The volume of the music did make it challenging to hear the person seated across from me. Let's talk about the bathrooms for a moment. You serve alcohol and the area that leads to the bathrooms are filled with cut mirrors that make it look like a fun house of sorts. I watched as several people tried to figure out where the door was. Sorry, I didn't get the pictures of the mirrored walls. The men's room enters from the left. The women's room enters from the right. You have to press on the wooden door to go into where the bathrooms are. The sinks and mirrors for hand washing are communal. At one point, I just stood there as I watched person after person try to figure out where the bathrooms were and how to get to them. That was interesting. The food was okay and will consider coming again. I ordered the surf and turf and the lobster. The lobster was overcooked and almost rubbery. The steak was hard. I didn't bother to send back because I wanted to enjoy what I could. I will consider coming again. Thank you

Our table of three waited an unbelievable 2 1/2 hours just to receive our food. The wait time alone was unacceptable, especially considering we were there to celebrate a birthday. We also arrived at a time during the day when the restaurant was empty. Because of the excessive wait, our server apologized and offered all three of us complimentary desserts as a gesture of goodwill. He also mentioned that there would be a "big surprise" at the end of our birthday celebration, which never happened. We ordered three desserts based on his promise, although we only enjoyed two of them. The third dessert, the lava cake, was not enjoyable. What made this experience even worse was what happened when the bill arrived. Our server, Javier, informed us, "I'm sorry, I know I promised you free desserts, but my manager said we have to charge you for them." This was after we had already consumed it. Absolutely unacceptable! How do you offer customers something complimentary to make up for poor service, only to go back on your word and attempt to charge them afterward? We would NEVER have ordered three desserts had they not been offered to us for free in the first place. We spoke directly with the manager, hoping he would make things right. Instead, he told us he could only offer ONE complimentary dessert for the birthday. There was no meaningful attempt to acknowledge the inconvenience, the excessive wait, or the fact that his employee had made a promise to our entire table. The most disappointing part wasn't even the 2 1/2-hour wait. It was the lack of professionalism, poor communication, and management's unwillingness to honor a promise made by their own staff. For a restaurant where customers expect a memorable dining experience, especially when celebrating a special occasion, this was incredibly disappointing. A complimentary dessert should never turn into an unexpected charge. If management isn't willing to honor an offer, their employees should not be making those promises to customers. Mama Por Dios, you seriously need to do better. What should have been an enjoyable birthday celebration turned into a frustrating experience. I will not be returning, and I would not recommend this restaurant based on the service and management we experienced.

I explained to my wife that I was in the mood for some good Mexican food and since we saw this place driving past our Hotel I had mentioned that maybe this would be a great place to eat at. Being that this was our first time being here the minute we walked into the Restaurant, I immediately knew that the food was going to be good. First off the restaurant had beautiful decor and it was very well lit. We than got seated and while looking over the menu, during our time figuring out what we wanted to eat, all of a sudden the lights went off and then other lights started flashing as if I was at a disco. Then right afterwards I heard people started singing Happy Birthday but in a way that I have never heard before. It was very original and I enjoyed it very much. It went something like "Happy Birthday (Pause), Happy Birthday, (Pause), Thank you for celebrating (Pause), with us at La Cabana. So you should eat some cake" Our waitress came by and had asked if we knew what we wanted to drink, my wife said Dr Pepper and I said Horchata. Whenever I go to an authentic Mexican Restaurant I always try and drink some authentic Horchata. Afterwards my wife ordered some Queso and then the waitress told us that it was spicy but it was only Jalapeno spiciness. So we said yes we would take it but to leave those off of the top of the Queso. She finally brought that over with the chips and let me tell you, the Queso was spicy but not to bad to the point where it wasnt enjoyable. We then ordered our Entrees and so my wife ordered the Tequila Lime Pechuga Asada and I got the Pescado Burrito. After a couple of minutes our food came out, our eyes got really big because we didnt expect our food to be so big. Let me tell you the price of the food is certainly well deserved with the portion of the food. After taking a couple of bites of my Burrito, drinking my Horchata and eating some Chips & Queso, my wife and I both agreed that we will be back to La Cabana to eat this place again. However. I think the next time we wont order 2 plates but maybe we will just share one. The plate of food my wife got was, so much food that 2 people could share generous portions. The chips were fresh, I did taste the guacamole and the sour cream and everything was delicious. We will be back and this will be favorited as a place we will return to every time we visit Suisun City.
