    Many assortments of treats

A nice bakery with a wide assortment of cakes, cookies, bread, and other sweet treats. The system is a bit outdated because they could not get it to accept my chip card but prices are decent. I got a box of about 8 different treats for my friend and judging by the "mmm's," I think she and her family really enjoyed it. I had a small bite of the carrot cake to see how it was and liked it so I'm sure the rest were really good.

For a Mother's Day dessert, instead of baking something at home, we decided to treat mom with La Dolce's Italian Cheesecake. Note that I've only tasted Italian Cheesecake once before, so my experience with this style is fairly limited. The crust was a solid both in taste and texture (literally) being somewhere between cakey and crumbly. Doing some research on Italian Cheesecake, the crust is often made using crumbled Almond Amaretto (similar to a Macaron) cookies which have those properties I mentioned above. However, the key to any good cheesecake is the filling and La Dolce's was quite tasty. Instead of the strictly cream cheese based New York style cheesecake, the Italian cheesecake filling is usually a blend of Ricotta and cream cheese or just Ricotta. Ricotta is a bit more crumbly with little curds versus the smoother texture of cream cheese, and this clearly translated to the filling. Rich, slightly creamy, and much more savory versus sweet, I also welcomed the clear use of lemon zest which complimented the richness. My only gripe was it was a pretty dense filling. One odd thing was that the cake tasted better a few days afterwards. Nonetheless we all enjoyed the Cheesecake for Mother's Day!

My mom bought me their delicious fig cookies and lemon drop cookies just like my grandma use to make.

La Dolce is a very good Italian bakery in Old Bridge. I never had any of their cakes, but I've had many of their eclairs, St Joseph pasties, zeppolis, lobster tails, cannolis, cream puffs, lemon drop cookies, and fig cookies. All are very good! My mom is always ordering their lemon drop and fig cookies from this bakery all the time, and I'm always eating them up! This bakery has solid pastries, lemon drop and fig cookies.

I tried my very first cronut at The Feast of San Gennaro from La Dolce Cronuts based out of New Jersey. This was the best thing I've ever eaten! A cronut is a croissant-doughnut hybrid originally created in New York. If you're in the Old Bridge area, stop by this bakery...they were super nice!

Again they did a wonderful job! Loved this cake! Everyone was impressed! I would definitely recommend this bakery, although they aren't on the cheap side

Terrible service. Unwelcoming attitude. Never ever stepping in. Seem very uninterested in doing business.

Hi, I wanted to…read moreextend a special thank you to Jessie and Riley at your Old Bridge, NJ location for providing such outstanding customer service. They are always so friendly, kind, and incredibly helpful. During our last visit, my 9-year-old daughter had lots of questions about your delicious cakes, and Jessie and Riley took the time to answer each one with patience and enthusiasm. They made her feel so special, and it truly made our visit memorable. Because of experiences like that, my daughter is always asking me to take her back! We both love everything about your restaurant--from the amazing food and desserts to the warm, welcoming atmosphere. Employees like Jessie and Riley are a big part of why we keep coming back. Please pass along our sincere appreciation for the exceptional service they provide. They are wonderful representatives of your team! Warmly, Angela & Melissa L.

Today we came here after our daughter's graduation from preschool to let her pick out a pastry for herself. This spot is great to try out new things that you otherwise wouldn't have tried. I had a croissant a few months ago that usually is a mini croissant filled with some type of lemon custard cream with strawberries on it. It's usually in the display with the savory foods (sandwiches etc). Whatever that lemon custard cream is that they use in those is so good but those croissants are so small. I asked someone at the front if they could help me with finding something else that uses the same lemon custard and she showed me a few options. So happy I picked that purple donut pictured, it was so delicious. I highly recommend anything with that lemon custard in it. It reminds me of this lemon cream cheese icing my mother used to make for lemon cake and it is so good, but this was 10x better. All of the fruit on the pastries is always perfect. The best strawberry and blueberry quality and ripeness you could ask for (not tart at all). The employees are super kind, I feel like I'm always super self conscious going here because we always decide last second before I get ready for the day and I'm always ready to be judged by everyone I encounter for how I look , but everyone has always been super sweet here and always interacts with our daughter as well and makes it a fun experience for her. So refreshing to encounter kind people in NJ. As for everything else, I'm more of an espresso/super strong coffee person, and I usually prefer getting coffee across the parking lot at Gregory's and then eating Paris baguette's pastries with it. Paris baguette's coffee is maybe like a 7 in my personal opinion. Still an amazing spot though. I haven't tried their baguettes, and I know that's the entire point of this spot, but wow, their pastries are enough to never try anything else .

June 6 was my birthday, and after celebrating the night before at a lovely restaurant in the city,…read moreI found myself with no plans on my actual birthday. I decided I wanted to treat myself to a little cake. I usually visit a local bakery for cakes, mini desserts, and cannolis. It's generally pretty good, although it can be a bit hit or miss depending on what you order. While searching online for bakeries nearby, this place came up with stellar reviews. I was surprised to see it was only about an 11-minute drive from my house, so I decided to make the trip. The bakery was set up much like a classic neighborhood bakery, with beautiful cakes displayed along one side and cases filled with mini desserts, pastries, cookies, and cannolis. While chatting with the staff, I mentioned the bakery I usually go to. That's when they told me that bakery actually gets its cakes from Normandie. I found that fascinating because I had always assumed every bakery made its own cakes from scratch. Suddenly, a lot made sense. I had originally planned on buying a small birthday cake, but since it was only for two people, I decided to put together an assortment of mini desserts instead. I picked up tiramisu, carrot cake, lemon cake, and several other mini cakes. Every single one was outstanding. Not one dessert missed the mark. The carrot cake was moist, the tiramisu was perfectly balanced, and the lemon cake was absolutely delicious. Everything tasted fresh, high-quality, and thoughtfully made. The minis were slightly smaller than the ones I'm used to buying elsewhere, but honestly, they were the perfect size. Now that I know where those cakes are actually coming from, I'll happily make the extra 11-minute drive and buy directly from the source. This will absolutely be my new go-to bakery for birthdays, special occasions, and hostess gifts. A wonderful birthday discovery that turned into finding my new favorite bakery.
