Terrible service. Unwelcoming attitude. Never ever stepping in. Seem very uninterested in doing business.

I wrote a review on this place back in June 2013 but I must change my opinion unfortunately! We ordered bread (round loaves of semolina) from them for christmas eve dinner at my house-they make the BEST semolina bread! I had to preorder to ensure they wouldnt sell out first thing. I wanted two loaves but I had to order three to make their minimum. My husband woke up early to go get our bread and waited in a 20 min line. He picked out some pastries with the bread and came home. I asked him if it was raining out bc the bread bag was SAOKED! He said no-come to find out they packaged the bread hot from the oven so the humidity of the bread had nowhere to go and saturated the bag, which gave us 3 loaves of SERIOUSLY WET bread. We had to throw out all 3 loaves and bc the line was 20 min we wouldnt even consider going back. We threw our money rt in the trash that day! Last weekend I went in to get some pastries to bring to a friends for dinner and I got some cannolis and a few personal tiramisu cups. The tiramisu looked so cute-I tried them first at my friends. The top was nice but the entire bottom was soacking wet water tiramisu. It literally looked like a dirty water drink underneath the pretty top and was disgusting! They make amazing jelly cookies and cannolis and their italian and semolina bread is delicious if you buy it from the counter! I am very disappointed with how much money ive waster there in the last few weeks :( read more

Ordered a communion cake from there, it was delivered to venue with my child's name spelt wrong, embarrassing and ruined pictures I will have forever, owner had employee call me to offer a 25$ credit to spend back in the bakery after he said would call me back, way to let someone else do the dirty work, I have spend hundreds in this place, I told them to keep it and I would take my business elsewhere, cake was not that good either. read more

I will no longer be giving my business to this bakery. It is convenient because I live close by. But after getting stale items for the third time, I am done. The first time was pizza dough. They obviously took a hard dry dough & turned it inside out so the outside would look fresh. The second time I was told I should by a whole crumb cake instead of 2 pieces because it was a better value. She was obviously trying to get rid of them because someone else walked in who she knew & asked to purchase the same thing, she told him "don't get that, it's from yesterday, this is fresher & offered him something else! Everyone that works there is very nasty & rude. The last straw was when I purchased 2 mini pound cakes to bring to an ill friend & they were so stale we couldn't even eat them. I brought them back & was told they only give store credit. No apology, just a nasty attitude! read more

I will never ever go into this store again. The owner Joe is very RUDE!!!! They overcharged me $4 for cookies and his response was its the holidays what's the big deal. Let me tell you what the big deal is you robbed me of MY money. If it was no big deal you shouldn't overcharge and insult your customers. I'm sure you overcharge a lot of your customers you have a great scam going. BUYERS BEWARE!!! Watch what you are charged. read more

One of the worst customer service experiences ever. Walked in to order cupcakes for next week. The lady at the counter was acting as though it was such an inconvenience for me to be there. Was completely rude and disinterested in taking the order. I will NEVER step foot in this bakery again. They have lost my business for good. read more

The worst customer service I have ever experienced. First when I entered I was the only customer in the store. There was no one behind the counter and when 2 women finally came out from the back the blonde woman's attitude was apparent before I even spoke. I first asked about the mandle brat and then decided to buy cookies because the mandle brat looked as if it was from a supermarket. I order 1 1/2 lbs of assorted cookies and 1/2 lb of rainbow cookies. The blonde woman, then rolls her eyes and throws the box on the counter after I ordered and then says to the other woman, I can't deal with this, you do it. Is that how you treat a customer? With such a nasty attitude. Someone like her should not deal with the public. The other woman on the other hand seemed somewhat embarrassed and was over,y nice. I would rather drive 20 minutes to my favorite bakery in Hazlet for better service and product then step foot in there again. read more

Their cakes are delicious but the customer service is terrible. The older woman and the blonde do nothing but bicker between themselves and then take it out on the customers. They are also as slow as molasses. Bring back the college kids. They were much more pleasant and faster!! read more

I've been going to La Dolce since they opened in Old Bridge. I have watched their quality go way down. Recently I went in to buy ices for a family function. I was told " they don't have them now, the season is over". I left, refusing to purchase anything else. It was September. I guess there is a law forbidding eating ices after August. Their babkas are so bad now, we won't buy them for the holidays. When we went to them to complain, they couldn't care less. Baked goods are stale sometimes & the pastries in the refrigerator are soggy & don't taste very good. The blond woman is unbelievably rude and obnoxious. It's really a shame that they don't take pride in their business. Rule #1- the customer needs to be happy with their experience when they walk out of the door so they will come back again for another great experience! If they stop slacking on their quality and something is done about "The blond woman" people who have stopped going there may return. In the meantime, there is a great bakery in Hazlet.... read more

i'm absolutely disgusted by the customer service and manager of this place. i ordered a specific cake for my husbands birthday and there was no filling in the cake. i called and complained and the manager was completely rude, he expected bring to bring a slice of cake from 2 hours away and show him that it was empty, when i told him about that he continued to argue with me and then proceeded to hang up on me. i will make sure that everyone i know never goes there again!!!! oh and by the way, if you like stale cookies and pastries during the holidays, they are the place to go!!!! read more
