This was my first experience with the seasonal harvest menu at Cabane à Sucre Au Pied de Cochon,…read moreand it was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. Every dish was beautifully presented, full of flavour, and felt true to the season. We started with the artichoke salad with coppa and stracciatella fresh, creamy, and well balanced. The mi-cooked trout with beurre blanc and chanterelles was rich yet delicate, while the ratatouille tart added a rustic, comforting touch. The gnocchi with foie gras was indulgent in the best way, and the turkey and sausage dish was hearty and satisfying. Dessert was a highlight: the raspberry tart was light, beautifully crafted, and the perfect way to end the meal. The overall experience felt special generous portions, incredible seasonal flavours, and a warm, inviting atmosphere. It's clear how much thought goes into this menu, and it really shines through in every bite. Highly recommend experiencing this before you die.

Dining at Au Pied de Cochon's renowned cabane à sucre has been a dream of mine for years…read more Mere mortals can make this experience happen. One must simply be ready the moment online reservations open in early December. I treated myself and my husband in early April in the thick of maple sugaring season. The drive from Montreal is a good hour, so we opted to stay in Laval. Much better might have been to rent an Airbnb in Mirabel. Next time. Because there simply must be a next time. For one fixed price (about $95 CAN), you are treated to course after course after course of the most delicious food crafted in the Québécois countryside. Everything has maple. Everything is the best thing you've ever tasted. I just wanted to slow down time and make this night last forever. Because it was just two of us, we lucked out and got seats at the bar instead of sharing a big communal table. Our two barkeeps were excellent- so friendly, plus knowledgeable and enthusiastic about every dish they served us. I had read that seasoned diners know to bring their own plastic containers for leftovers, so I too tucked a few into my bag. Do the same. Especially by the time you reach the flight of desserts at the meals end, one simply cannot consume that much food in one sitting. I will be dreaming of this epic meal for years to come. Or maybe just a year. Living only a three hour drive away, how can I not return next spring? Apparently, the menu changes every year. This place could shutter its doors someday and then it truly will exist only in my dreams. Until then, I simply must return. It exceeded my expectations, and then some. Divine. Rustic. Elevated. Joyful. Boisterous. Refined. Exquisite. Extraordinary.

We were a party of 6, 4 adults, 2 kids. We booked brunch at 10am and I'm glad we did because this…read moreplace gets packed. At 10am, we were avoiding the big crowds and it's a 6$ discount per adult from the regular lunch menu. The place is clean, there are activities for the kids and the food is quite decent. I really appreciated that the food was not overseasoned especially for the kids. They had condiments and seasoning on the side including pickles, pickled beets and pickled onions which I loved! The menu was fairly standard, breakfast potatoes, breakfast sausages (? Well more like chopped hot dogs), ham, egg quiche, oreille de crisse (Guilty pleasure), pea soup, coffee, hot chocolate. Their desserts were delicious. We don't have a sweet tooth but they kindly came out with tiny portions for us to try it all and decide what we wanted more of. There was cinnamon bun, bread pudding, sugar tart, ice cream, pancake, caramel tart, super yummy. All in all, the food wasn't amazing haute cuisine but it didn't leave me dying of grease and guilt either plus they had amazing desserts. The service was great. I really liked our waitress, she was busy but attentive with a good memory considering all the tables she took care of. For activities, they had the usual tire d'érable, mini farm (a few sheep, a llama, 2 horses, a donkey), a fire pit, a little slide-park area. They also have a dancing room with live music, face painting and balloon making. It says "suggested donation", that's more like this the price or more if you'd like, definitely not less. They had a free tractor ride up until they pulled out the horses to pull the sleigh then it was 3$per person. So I guess only free tractor ride until noonish. The sleigh ride was.... A bit boring, there wasn't much to see, there was no presenting of anything. We paid 15$ to sit in a sleigh for 10 mins and stare at big fields of snow. I guess I was hoping to see some trees where they got their syrup or like at the last place we went, we got some entertainment. But oh well. They also had ax throwing but we didn't check that out so it's unclear if that was included or not. Overall, our kids had fun, the food was better then I expected and maybe because we came early, the place was still very clean and very well organised. Tbh, I wanna give the place a 3.5 because I felt jipped by the sleigh ride especially since we were told indoors that it was free. But since there's no half points, I'll round up and.. We would come back again. Early.

Large, impressively ornate, creative ice creams with many topping and dipping options will make it difficult to pick one but we went with the bluest available! They also have slush, frappés, coffee, tea and bubble tea! The overall vibe of relaxation and wonder makes this the perfect place to bring the family. Small children would also very much appreciate the @pio_amusement park great for events and birthdays.

Great new addition to the South Shore! Insane desserts,…read moreover-the-top and decadent, ideal for those insta/tiktok shots! Fancier than your traditional ice cream cone, there is something for all sweet-tooths - and at any size! Everything tasted amazing! I had Le Decadent which is basically a milkshake or drink of choice with a cheesecake, brownie and a cookie on top. I must admit - everything tasted as good as it looked. The brownie was super fudgy and moist and my husband devoured the NY style cheesecake. They do a similar one filled with candies - those looking like something out of Wonka's Chocolate Factory!! My MIL, who is a massive chocolate fan, had Le Jet Set which is a chocolate-lovers paradise. Filled with everything Ferrero Rocher and Nutella -related. A must for chocolate fans! The interior is gorgeous with plenty of seating and a nice atmosphere.
