Another super cute, tiny neighbourhood wine bar. This is the smallest one of all seating about 6 tables worth plus a very tight four at the bar. Guaranteed 90% tourist free except for you. Like many wine bars in Paris the deal is- pick a bottle from the shelf, pay a small corkage, order share plates. Drink eat repeat. The share plates were super generous and mainly revolving around meats and cheeses. I wouldn't recommend trying to get through the rillettes on your own... The owner is part of the appeal in coming here and he is very knowledgeable and can talk about wines for hours.

A part of me almost wants to keep this one to myself, as this is a hidden gem within Paris. The place is essentially a wine shop, the walls bulging with a very fine selection of wines, from the modestly priced to the wallet sapping. But what really brings it alive is the fact that inside are four tables where you can sample the wines along with a modest but superb selection of accompaniments. Duck rilletes are rich and savoury, the charcuterie is sliced to order by the owner with a hand-cranked contraption mere feet from the table. A selection of cheese and a vibrant, saffron-infused houmous were similarly excellent. The service is provided by the owner, himself the character in the sort of heart-warming story that reinforces the joys of good food - as he left his architects trade after visiting, then deciding he must buy the place to run as his own. The selection of wine was great, plus we got advice and a selection chosen to reflect our tastes. The whole place represents the quintessential joy of eating in France. If you want a truly memorable meal, I can think of nowhere in Paris to recommend more highly.

This is a tiny bar à vins that packs a big punch in terms of atmosphere. The walls are lined with bottles of wine and there is a small counter at the back of the very small room with a beautiful red hand powered mechanical meat slicer. The food is mostly premade, meaning there is no cooking done on the premises. You get a choice of charcuterie and cheese plus a smattering of preserved fish like tuna, sardines and mackerel. The burrata in particular is divine. Luscious pieces of creamy cheese and comes in a pool of olive oil and chinks of green and red tomato. My one critique of the food is that the portions are way too big. I would have preferred the portions to be about half the size that they were. There were two of us and we ordered three dishes and could not finish it all. A small plates concept rather than such large portions would fare better with the wines that they are serving. Or come with at least four people! Overall, a great experience.

    natural wine and artisanal cheese.

Here's a small, old, intimate Paris wine bar that specializes in natural wine. It oozes charm with cool music thrown in. The wine selection is impeccable and the service straightforward. There's a limited cold menu of cheeses, oysters, sliced meats and the like. The focus is the wine and a place in the most frantic area of Paris that is calm and quiet.

On the other hand, it made me realize that my mother was a terrible cook. Bistro des Augustins is a small, cozy venue offering both indoor seating and terrace seating near Pont Neuf. It serves a small number of curated dishes, including a wonderfully traditional Bistro Gratin in a homey ceramic dish served piping hot with a brown crispy cheesy top, herbs, spices and chicken. You can also get it with salmon. My brothers and I only saw my mother use our gas range to light her cigarettes, sanitize needles to remove our splinters, and make s'mores during the summer months when she couldn't muster the energy to take us 'outside camping.' I mean, all she had to do was borrow a cookbook, which I'm sure were readily available from maybe a neighbor or in any local bookstore or the public library. How hard is that? I was the only kid who brought a can of tuna and his own monogrammed can opener to school every day. Every day. And mom convinced me that the tuna holster she got me for my birthday was cool and hip. I was a naive mercury-filled fool, although I did become a very fast runner in junior high school because of the tuna holster. The interior décor of Bistro des Augustins is informal and vintage bistro style - wooden tables, traditional chalkboard menus, and soft lighting - creating a relaxed and comfy ambiance. My eyes have been opened to what's possible. Thank you Bistro des Augustins for expanding my culinary horizons. Five stars.

THE FOOD ------------------…read more= Fermier - Cheese gratin with chicken was good. Didn't blow me away, but was solid with the creaminess of the sliced potatoes and emmental cheese combined together with mixed vegetables. The cheese was very strong though, so anything else was unfortunately pretty much overpowered by it. Arrived with bread, but it DEFINITELY could use other carb options to sop it all up (e.g., rice???)! = Landais - Cheese gratin with duck. Same comment as the above, except the Landais had egg and goat cheese also mixed in with almost the same ingredients as the Fermier. THE SERVICE ----------------------- + The lone waitress, who also worked the role as greeter, cashier and bartender was friendly. + Food arrived within 10 minutes of ordering. THE SURROUNDINGS ------------------------------------ = Small, tight restaurant. = Not many tables inside - 6 in total. + Located a few blocks away from the more touristy restaurants, towards the East, on a much quieter street. RANDOM OBSERVATIONS -------------------------------------- = Nada.

So many delicious escargot at au doux raisin that you won't regret going here…read more We ordered escargot, bone marrow, and beef bourguignon. The escargot. Wow. It's their specialty and it sure is special. I've never had escargot with this kind of flavor coming from the snail itself. It's a must have. The bone marrow was good too, nothing too memorable, definitely not like the escargot. The beef bourguignon was so good too. Tender beef and such good flavors. This was the perfect way to end our Paris trip.

We ordered a few dishes to share: - escargot was so flavourful, it blew our minds. This was the best snails I have ever hard. - foie gras - delicious!! - bone marrow - unlike other places, they didn't add a lot of sauces and etc. onto the bone marrow, but the taste was so fresh and delicious that you didn't even need anything else. Amazing. - beef stew - this was very tasty but we couldn't finish it so we take it to go. - sausage - probably my least favourite but still very favourful. Our server Olya was amazing, always checking up on us and making sure we were happy! She gave us a lot of recommendations which turned out to be amazing. She speaks French, English and Russian, which is a great asset which made communication and ordering very easy. Overall, this restaurant is a must visit for anyone who is looking for delicious homey meal.

We passed by a few other cafes but this one caught our eye because of how it's right by the corner with a view of the gardens. We checked in with the server and we chose to sit outside. I ordered the duck breast - very tender and flavorful, sauce was divine and the aligot was soooo creamy! I also posted what my friends ordered. We had wine too with our food. They have a charger by the bar so while we are people watching and eating I had time to charge my phone. While we were seated outside it began to rain so we asked for a table inside so we can have desserts. The restaurant was full but they let us wait by the bar. After maybe 10 mins we were seated upstairs and I got hot chocolate and we shared crème brûlée, chocolate mouse and tarte tatin. We all love it - they weren't too sweet.
