I came for a meeting/event and this was a nice surprise. The facility is clean and neat, parking was easy and the event space was well-maintained and managed. It was definitely not what I expected when I went to visit this place before booking it. I was very skeptical. I had heard bad things about it but let me tell you a moment I walked in. I was sold. It's been remodeled. It looks wonderful. I booked it for my mom's 77th birthday. The stuff was amazing. I had no issues whatsoever. The place was clean. I stayed here during my first solo trip and they made it super memorable! Staff was great, they were kind enough to waive the deposit fee for me as an accommodation, the staff member that helped me put me on the 5th floor and said it had the best views (it did not disappoint!), and breakfast was great as well! If i had once complaint if any was that the parking was tricky to find and the gate does close after a specific time. I would 100% stay here again the future! read more

I picked this hotel because it was a very convenient location. Right between LA & the Long Beach airport where we were leaving from. The lady @ the reception desk let us visit the room before we booked. A security guard escorted us upstairs. Freddy was very friendly & answered all our questions. Our room was very clean. Nice size. I liked the automatic light in the bathroom. I did not need to search for the light during a middle of the night potty visit. I found the pillows oddly sized. They are smaller than what I am used to. The exercise room was lacking. There were 2 cardio machines but only one worked. There were 4 or 5 weight machines but again, only half were usable. The pool seemed nice but only available 9am to 9pm. We stayed 2 nights. There seem to be many foreign travelers there. I met a young man from France. I encountered families from well, I don't know where from, but they sure weren't from the states. They spoke very little English if at all. But they were very friendly. The included breakfast was not what my husband & I expected. Who eats spaghetti & tomato sauce for breakfast? Foreigners, I guess. Also included were waffle fries, chicken nuggets, steamed frozen veggies, turkey sausage patties & Canadian bacon on the hot buffet. There was a waffle machine, STRONG hot coffee, instant oatmeal, cereal, milk, breads, etc. really lots to choose from. We certainly found things we enjoyed. The lady that ran the breakfast area was so kind and efficient. Everything got cleaned along the way. We did visit the casino. There are no slot machines but there is a bar & restaurant. My husband enjoyed watching the gambling but never caught on. The bar was attended by a very nice young lady, Ashley. The star of the whole experience was the spicy shrimp. This place is so shady. I was trying to book for my tenant and could not get an answer on their website nor on the phone about price and availability for a suite for a family. I was given a number to text. It was off by one digit and finally that person. Let me know. They were the wrong entity. Physically went into the hotel. Was told again they could not give me pricing nor availability only. Helen Mei could give that information. She was not on site and would not be in for several hours. They gave me her business card which I texted. I was told she would get back to me after checking availability the same afternoon. I had to reach out twice. She never responded. Until I told her I was going with another hotel. Then she said there was no availability for a suite. This is so fishy and so unbelievable. How does the front desk not know if a room is available? How do they not have a published price for a room? It seems to me like very questionable practices. I only did this because my client wanted to stay close due to his wards schooling. This hotel stands out and is hard to miss because of its Grand presence. In addition it's quiet and i was able to rest peacefully with NO interruptions. My room was also spacious and came equipped with flat screen TV, comfy bed, leather couch, a coffee maker, mini refrigerator, sliding mirrored closet doors, flat iron, ironing board, hair dryer, a study desk and office chair. Free WiFi is available and the connection speed is decent! In addition the hotel is located next to the Gateway Towne Centre shopping mall which is a one stop shop for all your needs: it has a Best Buy electronics store, lots of restaurants, Target and dollar tree grocery stores, a Home Depot store, ultra beauty store, Marshall's clothing store just to mention a few. There is also a metro transit railway across from the hotel. My only dislikes are the $100 room deposit, no microwave in the room and smelly carpet on the elevator lobby! But all in all it's a decent hotel and I would visit again! read more

Since it was my middle sisters birthday I decided to let her pick the hotel and stay as I like to stay in West LA or my ex roommates. Anywho, this hotel is located in Compton, CA. Definitely a very unique hotel as it has a lot of Asian foreigners, the lettering is in Chinese and English. When I checked in on 8/31/18 the staff was very kind and sweet. We had the luxury room. My middle sister did not know that Compton was about 25 to 30 min away from the festives we had planned all weekend. I personally did not have a bad experience...I did not get robbed or jacked as this place is not deep into Compton. Right next to the hotel walking distance is a lovely plaza filled with classy stores and food places along with Menchies. I can't consider this area to be hood as no Menchies is ever placed in the hood. Anywho, great accommodations and I have one minor complaints not with the room. Our room was very clean, smelled clean and lovely. However an incident occurred when one of the staff members came barging into our room unannounced- which was scary as he thought we were checking out on Saturday...which we were checking out the next day, Sunday and he came in around 11:30am and checkout is 12pm. The dude apologized profusely, as there are so many awkward scenarios that could have happened. I was not happy about the incident (minus one star). There was no bar and no casino!!! Which is the only reason why my middle sister selected this place (minus one star). I honestly would not stay here again as I like being near the beach and I felt like everything was far as we had activities in Santa Monica, West LA, Downtown LA, Hollywood and West Hollywood. The drive was not bad but Lyft and Uber fees were about $35 each trip which is cheaper if you stay under 10 miles in the West LA areas. Not everyone's cup of tea. read more

I stayed at this location twice but the last time wasn't as pleasant lol I left a review on booking.com and was emailed by a supervisor from the hotel. I was asked to return for a complimentary stay. All I had to do was remove my review. I figured I'd give them another shot. Well, it's been months. I have been unable to reach anyone. Oh boy where do I start? I rarely write reviews, but this place is definitely worthy of one. - Lack of proper air conditioning in both the lobby and the guest rooms. See the pictures. You know something is wrong when a warm +85 deg F Los Angeles day is cooler than your hotel room. We call the receptionist at 11:00PM to complain about that our room was too warm to sleep in and they told us to make a complaint in the morning..... ok! - Dirty beds and sheets. Do they even change them? If the buttons on the phone in our room we're still intact, I would know where to call (ugh). - Sketchy parking lots that look like they used to host swap meets at. - Complaint boxes seem to be a common sight in this hotel. Not surprised. - Majority, if not all, of the reviews you see are either biased or fake. Look at the countless 1 review accoints. What is this place good for? Nothing. I'd rather sleep in my car next time. I feel bad for the hoards of poor tourists that they keep bringing in here everyday in the bus loads. If only they knew. read more

Just to be clear this hotel does not even deserve one star. Carpet is so dirty and sticky, molds can be spotted at several places on walls, no tissue box, theft in hotel lobby. Loud speaking Chinese elders smoke at hotel entrance. No room cleaning is done daily unless it is requested and you need to put your name on the list. Homeless people wander in parking lots. My sons call this hotel "Trash Hotel". If you don't believe this, stay at this hotel on your next trip! PS: my son got his Iphone 8 stolen in the lobby. I have to admit, I was wary of staying here, but my experience was very enjoyable. As I read reviews, I saw that although there were poor reviews from the past, but all of the recent reviews were positive, so I decided to give it a try and it was well worth it. Although the place is undeniably a "work in progress" with some construction going on, the lobby is gorgeous, the halls are inviting, and the room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Be aware that the hotel is located in a spot that makes it easy to see from the freeway, but a little tricky to get to. That is made up for by there being a big shopping center very close with many restaurants and shops. Finally, the price is very competitive and the front desk service is very friendly. Overall, a great value and a great stay. 10 out of 10, will stay again. read more

Don't ever stay here. You are better off sleeping in your car. We decided to go just for the pool for the day. I had kids with me. I called ahead and asked if the place was child friendly. They said, of course it was. It is not friendly for anyone. Stay away. I have been to a lot of hotels in my time, some cheap, some expensive. This is the worst place I have ever been to in my life. And I mean in my entire life. We checked out after being there 30 minutes and a refund they would not give. First, the place is not even close to clean. The rooms are scary dirty. Ignore those lovely photos on their web site. None of it is accurate. Our room, a deluxe room, was dusty and dirty. Two mismatched towels were in the bathroom, which smelled and was not even close to clean. The toilet had flies in it. I kid you not. Second, we came to use the pool. We asked about it before we came. We called to the front desk to see if they had pool towels. I was told the pool was closed, had to be cleaned, because someone had a "massage" in it and it was now dirty. Okay, gross. Yes, they have hookers. Third, we go downstairs to ask for a refund. It is refused. I tell the manager that the pool is not working. He says it is fine. I tell him, no, I was just told someone had a "massage" in it and it was dirty. I was called a liar. He used the excuse that no one really speaks English well. I could go on, but I think you get it. Don't go here. Don't book it on line from any site, they will tell you, that any issues have to be dealt with by the site. They will be rude, they will be mean. Stay away. read more

I've never been inside since I was dropping someone off, but I'll give it the benefit of the doubt by leaving 3 stars, although the exit alone is only worth one star... Forget it, this is too inexcusable, 1 star it is. I came in one end, but upon exiting towards the middle, there is an unmarked traffic island at the top of a steep hill that connects to Artesia Blvd that's RIDICULOUSLY easy to miss... No trees, shrubbery, beacon, or signage... Heck, if you were to look at how disheveled the island is, I'm sure plenty of people have had their cars torn apart by it too! The ONLY reason I even noticed it? The double yellow lines were SO faint at night, I didn't know it was a 2-way street and I almost got in a head-on collision... Had that car not pull in, I would've slammed into the stupid island and have to buy a new bumper!!! Seriously, this is a safety hazard, but I never heard back from management either; drive here at your own risk! Heck, even do your Uber/Lyft/taxi/whatever driver a favor and tell them too! read more

I only booked a room for 1 night. I wasn't able to make it to my room until close to 10p. I was rushing to get there, because they have a no registration after 11p policy, which is weird considering they are supposed to be a 24hr casino. When I pulled up, I noticed a bunch of teenagers standing out front. I'm not sure if they were guest, or waiting for a ride. The lobby looked bare. 2 small love seats, and some remodeling going on behind the front desk. When the doors to the lobby opened it smelled like sh#t! There was a family of 9 with kids waiting to get their room keys, so not sure if that was the normal smell in the lobby, or somebody butthole was extremely excited and decided to whistle. My check in was pretty fast, and my room was clean and spacious. I did not see the casino, but maybe it was in another part of the hotel. As far as the breakfast, I did not notice they offered it when I checked in, and the registration rep did not mention it either. This place was convenient to the location where my event was at the following day, but I would not stay here again. read more

If you don't play they don't want you there, as soon you walk in, they have couches and chairs reserved for those that stay at the hotel, I went to the restrooms and the cleaning lady is yelling " ladies smell bad, flush, flush" she also yelled the same thing in Spanish. Looking for a place to sit I found an empty couch on a corner not too far away from some playing table, I sat there for about 2 minutes and a young Asian guy came over to tell me to move because " his couch is reserved for high bet people" I will never come back. read more

If I can give zero stars I would, first I noticed the room wasnt very clean, the carpet looked like it needed to still be vacuumed, I didn't dare get under the sheets. The bathroom garbage had trash inside and the floor looked dirty. I'm the morning after showering while I was getting ready to leave I was bitten twice on the foot by a flea! I literally saw the flea on my foot and noticed it because I felt itchy out of nowhere, looked down and there it was. I've stayed at many hotels, motels, and air bnbs in my lifetime, and this hotel, by far, is one of the worst lodging experiences I ever had in my life. Check-in is supposed be at 3pm, but when we arrived around 3:45, our room wasn't ready yet. The receptionist seemed insincere and unapologetic about asking us to wait - and wait, we did. I want to note that this hotel is primarily ran by Asians (and a lot of their guests are also Asian), so there can be a language barrier. Luckily, my fiancé was able to communicate with the employees in mandarin. While waiting, we utilized their public bathroom, which was absolutely filthy. The bathroom was infested with flies and had several graffiti marks across the walls. I started getting wary about staying here, but gave the hotel the benefit of the doubt. While waiting in the lobby, there was loiterers that would come into the hotel lobby and make a ruckus. The staff pretended nothing was happening. Finally, our room was ready around 4:20pm. The room and bathroom was subpar, but you get what you pay for ($75/night). The stay itself wasn't bad. No bedbugs or car break ins, like I've read in other reviews. The walls are thin, but the noise personally didn't bother me (my fiancé said he could hear bass from music through the wall). The housekeeping was friendly and welcoming, which is why I gave two stars instead of one. Also, the stay itself wasn't all that terrible; the beginning was a little rough. Lastly, don't expect to play any slot machines here. The "casino" is just one room filled with people crowded around 20 tables gambling. At the end of the day, I will probably never return and would discourage people from residing here. read more

If i could give 0 stars i would. I woke up Saturday morning, checked out of the hotel, went to my car and noticed my window was broken. Went back up to the lobby told manager, he disappeared after. We spoke with security and were told that 6 other cars were broken into and the had video of the guy but didn't do anything. We were also told this happens AT LEAST once a month.
