I'm giving four stars for innovation and variety. After all the incredible conchas I had in the PACIFIC NORTHWEST of all places, I don't know how many times I said Texas needs to step it up.
The food truck is situated by a busy coffee shop, both venues seemed very busy and the parking situation was awful. It seemed a bit of a free for all. Dirt lot parking ten steps away from the food truck or across the street. This means lots of dust and terrible drivers doing weird things. The poor girls were in direct sun taking orders. There was a long line when we arrived and lots of people waiting for orders.
The turn around from order to pick up was surprisingly quick. We hopped in the car to unpack the goodies.
The pistachio filled concha was beautiful. I took one bite and was very disappointed. It didn't seem to be filled with anything. The concha tasted like any other one I've bit into and left behind. I wasn't impressed. The next day, I decided to finish off the concha and broke it open to find the filling all on one side. I'm so glad I found it because it changed my mind. The filling was so lovely. I could order that on it's own, but the concha was a good vessel for it.
The Biscoff was vanilla-y and nice. It didn't taste much like Biscoff, but it was good. Nothing super amazing.
The cookies, I don't remember what they were called, but I think they were called marranitos, but they were shaped like gingerbread people, but were not gingerbread. Whew! Whatever they are, they were magical and easily the star of the show. They were melt in your mouth delicious.
I would come again to try some of the other offerings. Like I said, the innovation is awesome!! read more
