This is the best place in town to get Churros. I will drive all the way from out of town just to come here and get chirros. They are really that good & consistent. They are perfectly crunchy on the outside with the right amount of softness on the inside and sweet to perfection. They make them to order, which is nice, because they are fresh. So good! They make the churros fresh in the food truck. Not pre-frozen and heated, but hand poured and deep fried. So crispy and absolutely covered in cinnamon sugar. The ice cream was super vanilla-y in a good way. It was indulgent and a treat worth your calories. I paid $8 and I thought that was very reasonable for what you got. After our meal at El Bucanero we came to order Churros and the lady told us they didn't have churros only ice cream so we got ice cream for our kids and sat on the bench so they could enjoy them. Then 5 mins later a guy comes up to order churros which she proceeds to make while we sat and watched. I've been wanting to try ChurroStar for a while now! I finally went out of my way to go today and at first I thought no one was in the truck, I almost gave up and walked back to my car, but a lady in a hat popped up at the window and started taking my order! I ordered the mini churros (15 in a box) with a chocolate dipping sauce and the cajeta dipping sauce. The churros were made fresh right in front of me, the lady started up the oil and cranked the batter into the hot oil and I watched as she cut the batter for every miniature churro. I must have beat the rush, because as soon as I placed my order, people started lining up to place their orders and the lady was adding batter to the hot oil for everyone's orders. She worked fast and offered a bag to hold my greasy churro box in. There were also offerings of ice cream, candy, tres leches, and chocoflan on the window, I was tempted to order some chocoflan but I'll save that craving for another day! This food truck is outside and you will need to wait in the Texas heat for your churros, a couple people ordered and went inside the adjacent restaurant to cool off. I didn't even know this place existed until I was looking for dessert after a nice ramen dinner. Turns out this gem of a food-stand is located in the parking lot right in front of El Bucanero, another place I'm planning on visiting. They seem to be pretty popular, judging by the crowd in front of the stall. They have a variety of options to pick from (unfilled, filled, with ice cream, etc), but I went with the filled churro with cajeta sauce because I wasn't too hungry. Anyway, the churro checked all of my boxes: freshly made, super crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. The sauce was what stood out to me. The other churro places I've frequented had a kind of runny cajeta that would soak into the churro. Churrostar's cajeta sauce was more viscous and thick, so it felt like a filled churro instead of a soggy one. I really enjoyed what I had and I'm looking forward to going back. read more

I got the churro relleno ( filled churro with option of nutella or cajeta.) I ordered the cajeta filling and they make it fresh in front of you. They piped it perfect that it wasn't messy for me to eat. It is coated in sugar and crispy on the outside. The filling makes it even more tasty, I will never go back to eating plain churros now.
