    Dad with churros
    Ruthie W.

We found a winner of a meal for Dad @elbucanerosanantoniotx and churros with @lamejicobakery after. Dad loves oysters so we had a dozen for a value deal of $15! We got a medium plate of ceviche en salsa de mango which was plenty for 3 of us. My Dad had the pina agua fresca, my husband had the Blueberry mojito and I had the Bahama Mama. They do not skimp on the alcohol! Dad and I shared the fish and fries, which was very fresh. My husband had the tacos de pescado and shrimp empanada. Lots of tasty treats and extra food to take home. Conveniently in the parking lot is @lamejicobakery. Dad couldn't pass up churros so we bought 6 of them and had the chocolate, strawberry and cajeta sauces! Yum! We'll sure be back again!

Friendly folks at this food truck and delicious desserts being served up. There are so many choices and the two I usually get are the marrinitos and the chocolate tres leches. The marrinitos are small and bite sized and go really well with morning coffee. Plus the fact that they're small keeps me in check as far as overeating is concerned. I will say though they come in packs of 24 and at about 9 bucks for each pack, they also keep me in check in regards to buying more than I should. The cookies also hold their flavor and moistness well so I don't have to worry that a week has gone by and whether or not they'll keep. The servings are shareable and also have a lot of great flavor. The only downside is the parking area since it's stationed at the 2nd El Bucanero location on Blanco. It can be challenging to figure out where to park even if you're just trying to buy from La Mejico. If you're two people coming in, one can stay in the car while the other goes up to order. Just a suggestion though. :)

Churros made by a gringo, looks great!

Stopped by here as its set up here next to the El Bucanero seafood restaurant. Wife wanted some churros, fried cinnamon and sugar flour treat, they are not the same as in Mexici, but its probably the best you will find in Texas? Not bad at all.

10 minute wait ended up being 30min. Would have left but I already paid for my churro. Don't waste your time... churro was okay

Worth the stop for the Tres Leches cake, both the vanilla and chocolate are outstanding. Friendly staff.

I forgot the exact flavors I got, but I remember trying pistachio, Dubai chocolate, and one other flavor. They were all really good. Since I was hungry, I also grabbed a chocolate croissant, which was delicious as well. I forgot to ask them to heat it up, but it was still very enjoyable. On the side, I tried their ice cream, and it was honestly some of the best ice cream I've had in San Antonio. I believe I got pistachio, taro, and coffee on the bottom, and they were all great. At the end, I also got Turkish coffee just out of curiosity. It's not in the picture because I purchased it after I finished my dessert. The coffee was very strong, with a unique flavor that made it fun to try. One small suggestion: the coffee was very very hot and nearly overflowed the small cup, so it might be helpful to add a "cup sleeve", use a slightly bigger cup, or offer an option to make it a bit cooler (adding an ice or two). Overall, this is definitely a cool place to hang out, especially if you enjoy sweets, coffee, and trying different flavors. Highly recommended and will be back for more!

There were very limited fresh selections available, and many items were still being baked during opening hours. In my opinion, a bakery should open with the shelves fully stocked and ready for customers, especially those of us stopping in early. The prices are reasonable, ranging from about $2.50-$4.00 for both sweet and savory pastries, but price doesn't make up for the lack of availability. I expected to have more options to choose from instead of empty or partially filled displays. For consistency in early morning breakfast items, I could have easily gone to Krispy Kreme, where you know exactly what you're getting when the doors open. That said, 85°C is convenient and their mango smoothies are great. Overall, it's a decent spot, but I wouldn't recommend going first thing in the morning if you're expecting a full pastry selection.

Everything was good & if I did have one near me I'd be 100lbs bigger from binging my favorite Japanese style pastries all the time. The selection here is unmatched.
