Such a cool spot along the LA River! I got a draft oatmilk latte. It was perfect. Plenty of seating inside and out too!
Such a nice location for a coffee shop. Equipped with bike racks for those of us who stopped here along our LA River bike ride. While you can't see the river from the shop. You can always take your items and sit by the river. We sat at the outdoor seating at the shop and there was beautiful bougainvillea as well as singing birds. The birds are definitely brave because they tried to swoop down to eat our food. The service is quick and to the point. We got iced London fogs and a few sandwiches. The London fogs were very light in flavor. The sandwiches were ready made for us to grab from the refrigerator. My friends enjoyed their turkey and Italian sandwiches which they said were filling. The veggie sandwich had a piece of lettuce, few pieces of artichoke, pickled peppers, and few strips of onion. The veggie sandwich left a lot to be desired, but food options along the river are very limited.
La Colombe is a name I've heard often because of coffee beans, and I'm so excited to finally give this place a visit. Parking here was probably the most inconvenient part of the visit. The small parking lot is for staff only, and you really need to hope that a street parking spot opens up. Ordering was fairly quick, and the queue is intuitive - in one end and out the other. I had their iced latte, and this was bold and tasty, a nice afternoon pick-me-up. Wi-Fi is available for working, and there are seating options both indoors and outdoors. They're located by the LA River, which provides a nice view. It's not the biggest city escape, but the views that can be seen here are a nice exit from the otherwise busy streets of LA. Careful, though, as there are frequent bikers and runners.
Little cute coffee shop! Their oat milk cold brew was perfect! Loved my coffee. Loved the people & environment. Next to the LA river path to walk/bike. I thought it was really unique that the barista provided simple syrup and a spoon for me to consider sweetening. My drink didn't need any added sugar though. It was made to perfection. Service great!
We live by the LA River and this is always our walk end point. Our go-to drinks are the chocolate and white chocolate draft--so creamy and sooo good. We usually come early on weekend mornings, which is honestly the best time. You get to enjoy the calm vibe before it gets packed with cyclists, runners, and walkers. Only wish they warmed up their pastries, but overall the coffee is consistently good and the staff is always nice. Definitely one of our regular spots.

I really wanted to like this place, but my experience was disappointing. The coffee wasn't mixed at all, so all of the syrup and sweetener settled at the bottom of the cup. The coffee tasted bland and like pure cold brew, and I had to mix it myself The customer service also left a lot to be desired. The employee who helped me barely spoke, seemed distant, and came across as dismissive. A simple greeting or a more welcoming attitude would have made a big difference. Overall, the coffee and service didn't meet my expectations, and I'm not sure I'd come back.

Our curiosity made us pull over wanting to try it. Coffee drinks are getting pricey at these fancy coffee houses. We asked for it to be iced and with a coffee pour over. The drink was unique and the taste got sweeter towards the bottom.
As mentioned in a few of my other reviews, my friends and I did a coffee crawl of sorts, cycling along the LA River Path and stopped at many of the coffee shops. La Colombe was actually the first stop of the day and a perfect one to kick things off. Of courseee I ordered a hot matcha and while it wasn't my favorite of our five stops of the day, it was still a nice mellow start. The air conditioning was very welcome before we hit the hotter stretches of the day and the ride. La Colombe was spacious, clean, and very "La Colombe" in aesthetic - modern and yet a little minimal. Solid matcha, solid experience, solid services and prices, and a great place to start a caffeine-fueled bike tour. Give it a try!
One of my favorite places to come to after a nice, refreshing morning run. Its definitely convenient having a coffee shop, let alone a coffee roaster on a walking trail. The outside has a couple of chairs, benches and tables while the inside has the counter as well as additional seating. I love the cold brew here, especially the cold brew latte that comes out of their taps. The baristas are also friendly, even on a Saturday morning with the line out the door. Been a happy customer since the beginning of this year and I don't intend to stop now!
Awesome coffee. Seating for adults and children. Plenty of indoor and outdoor space and adjacent to the LA River path. Prices are steep $5.25 for a Capp and $6 for the draft latte but quality is there.
This used to be my neighborhood coffee shop, and I miss it so much! It's perfectly located right off the bike trail, so there's always a great vibe with bikers, doggos, and friends hanging out and catching up. One of my favorite perks was grabbing a bag of their beans--it even came with a free cold brew! Such a great spot with awesome energy.

Such a lovely coffee spot! The coffee is delicious, made quickly, and you can really tell they care about creating a welcoming experience. I especially love that they offer both water and sparkling water for bikers and runners--it's such a thoughtful little detail that makes a big difference. The space has such a beautiful, warm aesthetic and feels like the perfect place to stop, recharge, and enjoy a really good cup of coffee. Definitely a place I'll be coming back to! read more
La Colombe is a well established upscale coffee shop chain with many locations. This is my first time visiting their Elysian Valley (Frogtown) location. This shop is especially effective, offering good quality and great service that seamlessly integrates into the local community and vibe. I came in a Sunday morning after my child had her class at the nearby Klub Gymnastics center. We entered via the surprisingly scenic riverwalk amongst active hikers and bikers, past the nearby bike rental shop, and got in line. The place was packed and filled with like-minded family and others enjoying the morning. With essentially identical products, I evaluate chains like Colombe and Starbucks by how well they integrate with a local community and how busy it is. More people coming and going, more lingering, and more laughter and conversation overheard is what I like to see. This Colombe location fit the bill perfectly, filled to the brim with people were taking in the most of a humid day Frogtown. My large iced tea Chai Tea latte was delicious, as expected, and although a little bit pricey ($7 with tax), it came with great service, a friendly smile, and staff who offered to help my daughter fill her a little cup with water. A friend got the marshmallow s'mores croissant (see pictures) and reported it tasted as delectable as it looked. Truly, this Colombe location embodies the best of what a coffee shop can be, and is absolutely worth a visit during a walk along the LA river or a lazy morning in Frogtown. The S'mores Latte was absolutely amazing! The perfect balance of rich espresso, chocolate, toasted marshmallow, and graham cracker flavors without being overly sweet. It tasted like a cozy campfire treat in a cup. read more

Pretty empty with lots of street parking at 645AM on a Saturday. We got a vanilla latte and an americano. Both are pretty solid. Service was quick and efficient! Would definitely come back for another quick coffee stop but wish they had a bit more variety in their coffee options. The vanilla latte just tastes like a watered down espresso to me (sweetened) but still gets the job done! read more

I ordered the oat half tan with vanilla and it was very delicious! the frothiness of the draft latte mixed with the cold brew was the perfect balance for me. the service at this location is always hit or miss. sometimes they're nice, other times it feels like judgy teenagers are taking your order. good coffee though! read more

Used to love their can lattes. Can be found at grocery stores and Target. It used to be small, but tasty. Probably the best can latte out there (especially the Triple Draft Latte). However, ever since they change their packaging, I feel like they've changed the formula/recipe. It's a bigger can, but it doesn't taste the same nor as good as it used to. So happy to find a brick n mortar store. Freshly made coffee is good. BF's Iced Vanilla Latte was really good. We're both satisfied with it. My Iced Mocha tasted kinda light despite it looking like the drink would be mocha flavor heavy. Limited seating inside. Large outdoor patio seating. It's off the bike path along the LA River. Probably why they chose to open here. Convenient for the cyclists to stop and grab a coffee/do a short or quick coffee break. DRINKS: Iced Latte w/ Vanilla add-on 5/5 Bf is very pleased with his drink. I think it's pretty good too. Would order again Iced Mocha 4/5 Fairly good/decent. Bf think it's not mocha-y enough. It does taste lighter than it looks. I still like it tho. Good enough. read more
I met up with a friend to check out the Frogtown flea market along the LA River and after a long stroll, it calls for some coffee! I ordered the pumpkin spice latte with oat milk. The expresso wasn't too strong and I wished it was a bit stronger. That place was popping on a Saturday afternoon with some bicyclist stopping by for a drink too! read more

My review is specifically for a TGTG order, but I had a great experience this afternoon at La Colombe. The cafe is at the end of a cul-de-sac, and it sits against the LA River bike trail. This would be an excellent stop along the route, for the more athletic among us. The cashier was incredibly friendly & seemed genuinely interested in picking out items that I would eat/enjoy. The pistachio croissant was DELICIOUS -- highly recommend! I will definitely be back for a latte when I have time to enjoy the patio. read more

Love coming to this location hidden in this neighborhood and in-front of the LA river walk, it's the place place to have coffee, pastries if you're in the mood for it. The baristas are friendly and quick to give your order. I've been coming for quite a few times so it was time to give my review. Now that I've been running, I'll be coming for runs and make my stop to have my coffee after. Parking is a bit scarce but if you're there early you'll get lucky. Oat milk draft latte is so yummy and so are the lattes! read more

Honestly such an odd place... saw the pictures on yelp and everything looked so good! I was craving a nice croissant and saw they had some. Called ahead to check stock...no answer. Called again....no answer. I drove over and they still had a few pastries in the box. When I walked up to the counter the girl just stood there scrolling on her phone. After a little while of looking at the pastries standing there not even getting a hello or welcome or even a glance I asked her what a specific pastry was. She looks up still holding her phone and goes "mmmmmm. Which one?" Just completely uninterested. I point at it again and she tells me it's a ham and cheese. I then say "sorry I can't tell what any of these are because there's no labels" and she proceeds to look back at her phone just standing there blankly. It was hands down the most awkward interaction I have ever had at a cafe. I ordered a plain croissant and a blueberry muffing Togo. I then ask if they have any matcha lattes (because I didn't see it on the menu) and she blankly says no looking like this emoji . So I just pay and get out. $10 for two pastries. Blueberry muffin was amazing but the croissant was not the best, it was pretty hard and had no honeycombing. This place is so pretty but I would not spend time in such a uncomfortable environment. read more
La Colombe Coffee Roasters is a chain across SoCal and the U.S. and this fantastic location is in Frogtown, right by the LA River. I was actually surprised by how close it was to the LA River, which was absolutely beautiful and relaxing during my visit in December. It was my first time to the coffee shop and parking was a bit challenging as it was mostly residential. I ordered a few pastries and the service was alright. Pastries were better. Overall, I would recommend it for the location and pretty great pastries! read more

The lady in front of me asked if the draft latte couldn't be all foam because it ends up being 1/3 full after the foam goes away. Kind of like asking if could just pour it like a beer so it's not all foam. She was told no. Not very cool. The century city location pours it well but this location it's all foam for $7. Just think it would be fair to give a full coffee vs 1/3. read more

This is our cozy corner coffee shop by the river. They are know for their draft lattes, recently tried their seasonal-Smores latte and it did not disappoint, it's just on the sweeter side just preference I guess. The staff is great , I have come a long way from when they opened to now-and I have nothing but good things to say about their team now. The coffee isn't a 10/10 but it's the service the good morning, the helpfulness and convenience that makes it my daily. I haven't tried a pastry that is not good, can't go wrong with any. The almond croissant is my favorite though. read more
