Taco Salad. So yummy. I'll definitely order again.
Jennie S.

Taco salad. I'll definitely order again. Meat, rice, beans, lettuce, carrots, salsa, cheese, ranch, chipotle dressing.

My tri tip taco was 90% FAT! Horrible food. Deep fried hamburger aco with ground meat in it. Cook in back wears sunglasses, maybe that's why he can't see what he is serving. This was meat in a tri tip taco

Started into a tri tip burrito special
Kevin K.

Tri tip burrito was decent sized, meat was tender, rest of the ingredients were bland. Grilled chicken burrito tasted off. Chicken didn't have any flavor. Chips were crunchy but greasy. Guacamole was over priced for the quality of product. Placed the order at the cash register and there wasn't much personality in the interaction. Felt just like that - a cold business transaction, not a customer interaction. We had much higher hopes and were disappointed. It's convenient so we may give it another shot in a few months.

Love this small authentic Mexican restaurant. Clean dining area with cute brightly colored tables/chairs. Food is full of flavor and quality is superior. Service is quick and the server is friendly. My favorite is the Carnita plate while others love the Carna Asada. This restaurant really cares about their food!

One of the owners sent this. Instead of vowing to improve their service, he accused me of lying and harassment. Bad business, Enrique.

Better service now. Seems they read their Yelp reviews. I will raise the score further if the good service continues. Note: I updated this prior to reading the lovely note the owners left me (see picture). We'll see if that affects my rating.

I loved the quesabirrias . Pair that with an iced horchata. I also enjoy the crispy chicken tacos with a side of bean dip

Feb 2 2025 3.5 stars…read more Lately our go to Mexican eats is Cinco De Mayo in Martinez. Christians-smh. It is Sunday and Cinco is closed. The server and service here at Isla was perfect. I pointed out to he waiter that he had a crumb on his chin and he wiped and chuckled like a nice champ. The music is pleasant but a bit louder than needed so I brought out the earplugs. The entire indoor setup is nice. Our food is arriving after what seems like a long wait meaning either the food is being served fresh, hot and tasty, or we are in for a mediocre experience. Our two plates arrived. Chilli relleno and Grilled chicken enchilada. I'm not a fan of the aesthetics of the smallish squair white plates. Reminds me of trying to look upscale. We own plates like these and that didn't work. Wife's enchilada plate was covered with three hot and very tasty chicken filled food bombs plus sides. The chili plate looked a little weak (too much plate showing) but that was the tastiest chilli relleno ever in 40 years of me enjoying these. Served hot with cheese filled up to the ying yang, an extra spiciness I have never had before that I loved and me wishing I had a spoon to scrape up the end of the sauce. Unfortunately the smallish rice and bean servings on both plates were luke warm and tasted so so. . I had similar hotter to those with tv dinners back in the day. The two plates and a coke at $43 has me scratching my chin on whether we will make that drive again. That is unless it is Sunday. Then possibly. .

Whenever I visit a Mexican restaurant, I always set my sights on the carne asada super burrito. The…read morefirst time I tried it at Isla, however, I was completely let down--the meat was bland and the burrito felt stale. After giving it some thought, I decided to return and explore what it was about Isla that everyone raved over. This time around, I ordered the fish tacos, and I was hooked! Isla's fish tacos are phenomenal--easily the best in the area and a must-have every single time. I usually go for the tilapia, though I've sampled the red snapper as well. They come out super crispy on the outside yet remain incredibly moist inside, with the salsa and toppings melding together perfectly. I also visited their new location today and was pleasantly surprised by the ample parking and comfortable seating. The space is beautiful, making it even more enjoyable to stop by for those irresistible fish tacos. Here's a quick rundown of my ratings: Fish (all varieties): 8.7/10 Birria: 7/10 (good, but not their standout item) Carne Asada Super Burrito: 5.8/10 When it comes to satisfying my fish taco cravings, Isla remains the only choice.

My fiancé and I used to be regulars at this taco shop. We've ordered from here for years and always…read moreenjoyed the food. Usually, we call in our order, but this time I decided to order through their website so I could pay ahead and schedule lunch pickup. That's when I noticed something shocking. The pricing on their website is much higher than on other platforms. On DoorDash, a regular taco is $3.85. On their own website, the same taco is listed for $6.04. The description online says "two soft corn tortillas," which I assumed meant two tacos (especially at double the price). When I picked up the order, I explained the pricing difference to the employee, hoping for clarification. Instead of being helpful, he was dismissive, made me feel small, and treated my question like it was silly. He even showed me their in-store total for three tacos $13.72 which made my point exactly: why was I charged $22.38 for the same three tacos just because I ordered through their own site? It's disappointing to feel taken advantage of as a loyal customer, and even more disappointing to be treated poorly when simply asking for an explanation. Unfortunately, this experience has me rethinking whether we'll be back. If you're gonna order ahead do it through door dash.

They are a shopping center and share a parking lot. The lot is busy, but you can still find parking, you may just have to walk a bit from your parking space to the location you are getting to. They don't have complete paper menus, the menus they do have are just for their lunch specials. They do have 2 menus posted on their wall and above the cash register. So there are plenty of ways to see the menu. They have a wide selection of entrees. We settled on the street tacos and enjoyed them. They were flavorful and a good size. They also have a salsa bar that we made good use of. Most of the salsas are mild, which is fine, one of the mild ones has a little kick to it so it was good. The bathroom is clean and well stocked and located in the back of the taqueria. The taqueria is bright and pleasant to eat at. It's pretty clean, they do their best to bus the tables. They did take the trash out the front door while we were there. I think they should have waited till closing to cart it out the front door. They don't give out free chips which I think is sad. With purchase they should give you a small bag of chips. Instead it's $1.47 or close to it. It's inexpensive so that's not the point, it's just taqueria's give them out for free.
