It starts in the parking lot. You have a patio area behind the restaurant and a door in the front of the street side of the building. There is no sign to direct the guests. So, after walking into the patio, the staff told me I have to walk around to the front door. A little thing that's easily fixed, but, no one even tries to be a first time customer so they simply don't see it understand it. When I walked in the restaurant, it was completely empty. The server that started my meal was a young man who admitted he only eats bean and cheese burritos! So, I've got a server with the palate of an infant. He has no suggestions or really any idea what's good on the menu. And when I ask him if there is a house specialty he shrugs his shoulders and says, I don't know. Really?!? This is YOUR server?!? I eventually get a second server, who explains that there are several things they specialize in. I was in the mood for a carnitas chimichangas with rice and beans and order that. She asks if an upcharge for the carnitas is acceptable and I accept. In the meantime though I ordered an iced tea which was eventually brought to me, but, here's the thing. It's iced tea. Not one time did a single person refill that tea, despite being empty for over half the meal. That is my BIGGEST pet peeve! How clueless do you have to be to walk past a person in your restaurant with ZERO liquid to drink?!? Are you kidding me?!? There is NO EXCUSE for this level of poor service! None! That is an automatic 2.5 star deduction! My reviews are split up 2.5 for the front and 2.5 for the back. Missing a free refill on a tea automatically zeroes out the front of house score. There is no excuse! None!!! Wake up and pay attention to the people who keep your lights on. But it gets worse! Eventually, even with my empty glass of tea, the second server drops my check early so she can close out the other server. ‍. Which is fine, if she was paying attention to me in the slightest. Clearly I was a huge inconvenience to this staff. Don't worry, I won't be back to bother you. After closing my check, I was all but abandoned. I wanted to take some of my meal home and I had to walk to the kitchen window and ask the CHEF for a box to take my food home. Would you call that good service? You've got A LOT of training to do. That's one of the worst experiences EVER! Congratulations, that's not an easy mark to not cross! You have to be completely incompetent to pull something like that off. There were no suggestions for appetizers made at all, nor was there even the opportunity of ordering dessert, DESPITE ME POINTING OUT THE FRIED ICE CREAM OUT LOUD... Your service staff was much more interested in having me leave than order more food. You get a complimentary basket of chips and both a red and green salsa to start with. The salsas are hand made and delicious, the chips freshly fried, crisp and perfectly salted. The entire was a Carnitas (pork) Chimichanga (a deep fried burrito) with rice and beans. The rice and beans were the best part. When presenting a Chimichanga you should leave the burrito uncovered so you can see the crispness of the fried tortilla shell. By covering it with guacamole, sour cream, shredded lettuce and all of the other stuff, not only are you now covering your masterpiece, the moisture from these items makes the Chimichanga soggy! What are you thinking?!? Then there is the carnitas meat itself. You are clearly storing this pork in a container on the hot line with little to no water or broth, and by doing that, you are turning the carnitas into pork jerky! It was stringy, dried out, tough to chew and visibly dried out. And despite your best efforts to ruin this dish, it was STILL tasty! Go figure. You are NOT an order taker! You are a food adventure guide! Your job is to know the food like the back of your hand. You should be able to direct any customer to an item on the menu that will blow them away. You need to know every ingredient off of the top of your head and if you are not sure, you ask someone who does know and NEVER SAY "I don't know". The proper answer is, "let me find out for you ". You are to make certain that no customer goes thirsty for lack of drink and you should absolutely be directing your customers with an appetizer BY NAME and a dessert BY NAME! There is no excuse to simply say, would anyone like an appetizer? And nothing else! And when you check back at the table to make certain their food is ok, within 3 bites of the meal or 3 minutes, you ABSOLUTELY should be telling your table, "Now don't forget to save room for the fried ice cream... it's killer and easily shares!" Do you see the difference between that and what your staff is doing! Get them to sell your food! Then you won't need to worry about charging for refills on the complimentary basket of chips!

I recently visited La casa de Don Miguel in cedar city. While my experience there was just average, I must acknowledge the positives that made my visit enjoyable. First and foremost, the restaurant's atmosphere was warm and inviting. The vibrant colors and traditional Mexican decor created a lively and festive ambiance that immediately set the mood for a Mexican dining experience. Moving on to the menu, I found a decent variety of Mexican dishes to choose from. The menu featured classic favorites such as tacos, enchiladas, and burritos. The presentation of the dishes was appealing. Regarding the food itself, it was very bland. The salsa was very watery and again very bland. My enchilada was average. The lettuce and tomatoes on top were fresh though! The service at was prompt and efficient. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu and able to answer our questions. But because the food was unappetizing, I don't think I'll be back.

La Casa Don Miguel is a quaint little Mexican family run restaurant on Main street. The ambience is that of a family home, with a small front door opening as if you are stepping into your grandmother's house. The menu offered a little bit of everything including vegetarian items and beans and rice without lard. The prices were reasonable. The service was nice and overall the food was good. There are a lot of options for Mexican food in Cedar City and some of them are fast food and some are restaurants. Although I did enjoy my food I will probably try a different Mexican place the next time I am in town. Overall I would recommend giving them a try.

I dined here alone on a weeknight -- k was quickly seated, I got my drink and meal in good timing and was checked on often by the staff. The food was delicious! The coleslaw was interesting and something different than any others I've had, very unique. This place isn't anything fancy, just some solid, hot Mexican food with fine service.

The Flautas are so delish, I was debating between that and the Chile Verde, or Camarones al e Diablo. Be sure to tip Skyler well!! She's a total sweetheart!! Julia was on the ball and loved her Flautas recommendation. I will be back each time I'm down here!!

This place handled a busy restaurant well on a Sunday evening! The staff was super kind, the food was delicious, and the margaritas were HUGE. I had the tortilla soup, which was way more food than I could finish but so so good. My table shared flautas--also delicious. I liked the beef one, but others with me liked the chicken. Would highly recommend as your Mexican food stop if you're ever near Cedar City, UT.

This place serves up some of the freshest, most authentic Mexican grub I've had in southern Utah. We ordered a mix of their street tacos (the carne asada and al pastor are absolute standouts--juicy, perfectly seasoned, and topped with fresh cilantro, onions, and a squeeze of lime) along with their homemade horchata and a side of beans. We also enjoyed one of their daily specials, with a staff-recommended chia-lime and strawberry fresca, and everything was amazing. Everything was made to order, bursting with flavor, and surprisingly affordable for the quality. The staff was super friendly and quick, even during the dinner rush, and the casual vibe with outdoor seating made it perfect for unwinding with the kids. No frills, just great food that feels like a taste of home. If you're in Cedar City for skiing, hiking, or just passing through, do yourself a favor and stop here. We'll definitely be back--five stars all the way!

A great place to eat even if you are dairy or gluten free, like me.
