We were driving through and felt that they would provide a wonderful breakfast. My GF and I are seasoned at ordering the same Mexican plate wherever we go, mainly to compare but also because it's what we like and it's usually safe. I chose the Ala Mexicana which was absolutely wonderful and came with refried beans, soft potatoes, three tortillas, and choice of two sausage patties or two strips of bacon. Delicious. A bit overpriced since the same dish less sausage or bacon in Houston is between $3.50 and $4.50 My GF ordered the Migas which she loves wherever she orders it, but for some reason this one that they brought us seemed to have a coating or layer of nasty oil. It was gross and we sent it back. We told them the Ala Mexicana was awesome but the lady that was the owner was mean and nasty and said her food is never bad. She even said she would fire the cook but then became defensive. Thankfully the cashier calmed her down and got us a replacement but switched it to the Ala Mexicana. My GF was pleased with the new order. They are extremely busy with a lot of customers. I don't expect perfection but the owner need not be defensive. It happens and sometimes people don't complain or send things back. We rarely send food back. We order both dishes a lot so we know what to expect. I wasn't aware of the buffet, so if I were to go back, I would try the buffet. Whatever you do, don't order the Migas and stay away from their cheese. read more

I don't know why this place has 3 stars , it should be 6 stars. I stopped by on my way to San Marcos and let me tell you those were the softest flour tortillas ever. I got the bean and bacon breakfast tacos and eggs with nopalitos they were so good I ran back and ordered some more to go. read more

Best carne guisada. Taco grande with beef, bean, and cheese. Just DO IT! I have been eating here my whole life and I've never gotten anything bad. Their salsa is the best salsa I've ever had. I have to get the jug of salsa to take back home to live off of every month or so. 10/10 would recommend. read more

It's amazing that this place is still in business. Ordered nachos, a disgusting mash of canned chili and fake cheese sauce. I didn't think something so simple could turn out so horrible. Food is terrible. I think the guy behind the counter is the owner and he was extremely rude. I thought it was just a bad day so I came back for a second time. wrong, wrong, wrong. He was even ruder this time and yes I found out he was the owner. the food was terrible. Not only that when I asked for some hot sauce for my to go order they charged me for it.
