Everybody told us we had to go to Joe Beef and they were not wrong! Rich, delicious comfort food…read morewhere all flavors are at 11 and all you wanna do is just lean in further. None of the cocktails appealed to me particularly (they all seemed pretty abrasive in an interesting way but my palette doesn't love bitter) though my date had a really solid martini. I opted for the wine instead and was very impressed -- some interesting options, all of which I enjoyed and complimented the food well. Now to the food: we got a variety of oysters, all of which were delicious!! I coulda had a second round, but my date loves escargot so we did that instead -- extremely rich but always tasty. From there we went straight into entrees, I got the duck breast which was tender and lovely! So filling, so delicious. But my date chose even better with the rabbit. Omg. It was like a rabbit & foie gras entree with truffle on top and it was just out of this world! Again, so heavy but so delicious -- you wanna just drape it over your shoulders like a velvet curtain. Needless to say we were both too stuffed for dessert. But man, what an outstanding meal! Would love to come back here some day and do it all again.

Both were excellent and the filet was cooked exactly as requested. There were three decently sized pieces of lobster in the shell, served on top of the spaghetti. We also had an order of escargot, which was served with a large piece of garlic bread and was delicious. Definitely recommended.

We stopped for sandwiches at this boutique butcher shop. Rustic trendy decor with beautiful wood,…read moreexposed brick, open-case fridges, floor to ceiling glassed-in butchery, and a tiny eating counter with three barstools. No bathroom. We split the Philly steak sandwich with Angus beef and tender mushrooms, and some other veggies, served hot. The other was smoked turkey and pesto, with spicy peppers and eggplant served on crusty bread, served panini style. We asked for no cheese (personal preference). These sandwiches were next level! Worth every penny from this bougie place we wouldn't normally go to. Sandwich perfection and friendly service. We shared a Zam Cola which was better and less chemically than Coke. Kinda like Brio. Yummy. We will be back with family from the USA for this European style experience.

Hands down best steaks in town!…read more I always pick up steaks here just before I take off for camping. Nothing beats a fresh grilled steak in the wilderness. Gotta give it to them they really do have a great selection of steaks with amazing marbling. It's always so juicy and amazing. The cool part is that they have pre made food like chimichurri brochettes, bbq ribs and souvlakia for easy grilling. The pret a manger selection at the counter is packed with goodies like (shepherds pie, Cesar salad and onion soup) I noticed that they actually have beer and wine here and they are all Quebec local brands. I love that they keep it local good eats and good drinks.

The first time we tried going it was complete pack and it was a 1hr wait. Second time I tried going it was starting to get packed around 5:30-6pm and 7pm was fully packed. We ordered the soup of the day - cream de broccoli which was good! the garlic escargot, very cheesy garlicy (Great start) steak with shrimp and steak with half lobster. I would say it started slightly going down hill with the main course; which i was very excited for but it was just average. reminded me of vieux duluth growing up. We ended with a cake i chose the forest cake it was was horrendous. It was dry, hard and the taste was off. every birthday growing up i use to love forest cake and as much as the appearance was similar the taste was definitely not there. I would say overall it was ok. But i expected a lot more from all the good reviews online and from how booked and occupied it always is. its a very Caucasian restaurant so when i significant and I walked in we got starred at, which at some point gets uncomfortable. Would i go back....no...was is nice to try atleast once yes.

Went in with no expectations but was blown away by everything, from the service, to the food. Gobsmacked that this isn't more well known as I know so many people who has been to montreal countless of times even the locals who hasn't been to this steak house. Its also a casino and cigar lounge so it makes it even better. Oyster rockerfeller ($21) ~ OH GOD this was phenomenal. The bechamel and the parmesan cheese was so rich and paired so well with the fatty and sweet oyster. 10/10. Fried calamari ($24) ~ super crispy, and well seasoned the pieces of calamari were big and the cocktail sauce it paired with was chef kiss. It was perfectly cooked and not rubbery at all! 9.5/10. Linguini with octopus and cuttlefish ($42) ~ the pasta was al dente, there was chunks of tomato, and seafood which was nice. 7.5/10 22oz bone in cowboy rib steak ($75) ~ perfect cooked and perfectly seasoned it was so good and the meat melts in your mouth! It was absolutely chef kiss if I didn't have to share I would've devoured this soo quickly it would've scared everyone. Definitely worth it for the price, and it was beautifully done. 10/10. Wild mushroom ($14) ~ well seasoned and sauteed it was good and the mix of mushrooms were a great pairing with the steak. 8.5/10 Loaded baked potato ($16) ~ I UNDERSTAND - this is a well known side dish here and I know $16 for potato its totally worth it though. The potato was so cheesy and buttery and melts in your mouth it was rich and also paired perfectly with all the dishes we got. This potato was on another level for sure. 10/10. Empress gin & tonic ~ stunning perfect ratio of gin and tonic, and it was delicious an the rosemary on top was the perfect garnish. 10/10.

The staff was incredibly helpful and nice to us with great recommendations. For starters I got the lobster bisque and then had the filet migion for dinner. Exceptional quality on the meat will definitely have me coming back. For dessert we sampled the tiramisu and crème brûlée. The crème brûlée was made with grand marnier and made an excellent edition to the dessert
