We reserved a table for 7:30pm because that was their second service. The restaurant has a large patio with heat lamps up front but we opted for indoor seating as it was a little cool outside. We ordered pretty much right away and got the tartar within a reasonable amount of time. But the mains didn't arrive till about 8:40pm. Our server claimed that he didn't know we were in a rush which is a poor excuse for slow service or perhaps he'd forgotten to put in our order. The tartare was probably one of the chewier ones that I've had. Taste wise, it was pretty standard with chopped pickles, capers, onions, and flakes of Parmesan. Bread crusts were also quite average. The filet mignon was cooked medium as requested but was void of flavor. It relied on the sauces which one was a pepper sauce and the other was a pear sauce. It was served with a side of cheesy deep fried potato which was quite tasty. The ribs were alright, I wasn't a fan of the sauce they mixed the ribs in but the fries were good along with their spicy mayo. As for the sides the overpriced 4 shrimp on a stick tasted like they were simply boiled, also devoid of flavor. The sauteed mushrooms however were delicious. Desserts here were a win. The s'mores cheesecake was rich and well balanced with a crumb crust hiding at the bottom. The Bailey's creme brûlée had a thick crunchy layer of caramelized sugar... Though it looked dark, it wasn't burnt. Overall, the service was slow and the food lacked wow factor for the price but worth a try on a Thursday promo night.

The first time we tried going it was complete pack and it was a 1hr wait. Second time I tried going it was starting to get packed around 5:30-6pm and 7pm was fully packed. We ordered the soup of the day - cream de broccoli which was good! the garlic escargot, very cheesy garlicy (Great start) steak with shrimp and steak with half lobster. I would say it started slightly going down hill with the main course; which i was very excited for but it was just average. reminded me of vieux duluth growing up. We ended with a cake i chose the forest cake it was was horrendous. It was dry, hard and the taste was off. every birthday growing up i use to love forest cake and as much as the appearance was similar the taste was definitely not there. I would say overall it was ok. But i expected a lot more from all the good reviews online and from how booked and occupied it always is. its a very Caucasian restaurant so when i significant and I walked in we got starred at, which at some point gets uncomfortable. Would i go back....no...was is nice to try atleast once yes.

Went in with no expectations but was blown away by everything, from the service, to the food. Gobsmacked that this isn't more well known as I know so many people who has been to montreal countless of times even the locals who hasn't been to this steak house. Its also a casino and cigar lounge so it makes it even better. Oyster rockerfeller ($21) ~ OH GOD this was phenomenal. The bechamel and the parmesan cheese was so rich and paired so well with the fatty and sweet oyster. 10/10. Fried calamari ($24) ~ super crispy, and well seasoned the pieces of calamari were big and the cocktail sauce it paired with was chef kiss. It was perfectly cooked and not rubbery at all! 9.5/10. Linguini with octopus and cuttlefish ($42) ~ the pasta was al dente, there was chunks of tomato, and seafood which was nice. 7.5/10 22oz bone in cowboy rib steak ($75) ~ perfect cooked and perfectly seasoned it was so good and the meat melts in your mouth! It was absolutely chef kiss if I didn't have to share I would've devoured this soo quickly it would've scared everyone. Definitely worth it for the price, and it was beautifully done. 10/10. Wild mushroom ($14) ~ well seasoned and sauteed it was good and the mix of mushrooms were a great pairing with the steak. 8.5/10 Loaded baked potato ($16) ~ I UNDERSTAND - this is a well known side dish here and I know $16 for potato its totally worth it though. The potato was so cheesy and buttery and melts in your mouth it was rich and also paired perfectly with all the dishes we got. This potato was on another level for sure. 10/10. Empress gin & tonic ~ stunning perfect ratio of gin and tonic, and it was delicious an the rosemary on top was the perfect garnish. 10/10.

The staff was incredibly helpful and nice to us with great recommendations. For starters I got the lobster bisque and then had the filet migion for dinner. Exceptional quality on the meat will definitely have me coming back. For dessert we sampled the tiramisu and crème brûlée. The crème brûlée was made with grand marnier and made an excellent edition to the dessert
