If you are in Barcelona and are a beer lover, you should take the time to visit this place, is not close, though. So be prepared. The trip consists of train to Mataro (45 min from Barcelona Plaza Catalunya) and once in Mataro you can walk (15 minutes) or take a taxi (aprox 8 euros). The landlord will even take bets and pay SP prices on horse and greyhound racing and other sports betting behind the bar. The toilets leave a lot to be desired but are functional [they flush and have 'loo roll'] The food is very good and good value and there are pool tables, a darts board, in the lean to/ conservatory [where you can smoke and which has four tv's fitted so you dont miss any action] The bar has air conditioning units fitted but suspect they will be inadequate in summer when the place gets full. Overall a useful place for sports fans, gamblers and for people who can't live without English food.
