What do you rate a Restaurant when only the bread and mashed potatoes were good. Very disappointed in the very dry filet mignon, or the very fatty wagu skirt steak. We both Asked for medium rare and they both came Out medium. Asked for diet cola And received regular cola. Added in the side sauce and got just about enough for 1/2 the steak. Service was ok. On a recent business trip to Munich, I discovered that many (most?) restaurants are closed on Sunday nights. La Boheme was open and had a table, so off we went. The wine list was short, but we found an Amarone that was delightful. We ordered a large appetizer sampler for the table of four, and it just about filled us up. It was probably the best dish of the night. The wagyu slices and hot rock wasn't our best choice -- the wagyu was very fatty and bacon-thin. The rock got cold quickly and the waiter seemed a bit peeved to have to bring another. A friend and I opted to share the chateaubriand, finished flambé at table side. The flavor was good, though it was missing seasoning or sauce. If I return, I might just order the sharing starter and a bottle of Amarone and call it dinner! read more

I had to think for a bit before rating this place and finally, I decided to give it 4 stars. I would have given it 5 stars, had it not been for the prices they charge here. It's Michelin star prices without the added fringe benefits :-) For me, the the most disappointing part of the meal, was the price of the steak, which was way higher than normal, compared to like steakhouses in town. The ambience is chic, elegant, modern and comfortable. 5 stars for ambience and looks. The service here is also excellent and the waitress we had was really good. I would give 5 stars for service and attention to detail. She was very attentive, spoke great English and very friendly. The food here is great and I loved every bite. The menu is quite varied and I think it's because, it is in an area with a few hotels. They have a nice selection of snacks, starters, middle courses and mains. It's more European / American in style than French, in my opinion. The drinks menu is also extensive with a good selection of wine. The prices are high for the wine. They also have a nice cocktail list and I must admit, I did not like the drinking soldier I had. It was lacking in flavour and punch for me. We decided to have some "snacks" to start. The pimientos we ordered for snack was really nice as was the sandwich. The ribeye steak main for two was cooked to perfection. The mash potato side we ordered with the steak was superb and, the veggies intense in flavour. The presentation was also excellent however, the price of the steak was way too high for what it was :-( Desserts from the menu can be ordered or you can select smaller desserts from the cart. We decided to try a selection from the cart. Creme brûlée was superb as was the chocolate / banana tart. The wine we had with the main was quite ok and had an attractive name "bad boy". A good marketing trick but, not worth the money in my opinion. You can order the daily three or four course menu and the prices for that are quite ok. It's a restaurant that is not so easy to get to and tons of construction in the area at the moment. I am sure it will fit in once the construction is complete. It's a fairly new place and been open since April. I would come back here again for sure. I love the atmosphere and the quality of the service but, would select what I eat. I certainly would not order the steak off menu without checking prices first. I did not like the fact that it was 30% more than what the waitress told us it would be :-(( I hate that about restaurants and they simply don't correct their own mistakes. That results in a star deduction for me. I never think twice about paying for great food but in this case, felt a bit let down :-(( I really hope this place survives. It's located in an unusual place and, it's expensive. Places like this come and go out of style in Munich and, I really hope, this one does not. The quality of food is high but, they are making us pay for the huge investment in the restaurant. A great addition to the area albeit, a bit out of the way. read more

So I don't like to leave bad reviews especially when the food is excellent and for the most part everyone is friendly, but our waitress tonight was so snooty and rude to the point that it upset me so much that its motivated me to write this review while still sitting at the restaurant. Like I said the food is exceptional and the other waitstaff have been friendly and attentive but the server who took our order has been absolutely rude. I'm visiting from the states and we wanted to check out as many Michelin star restaurants as we could on this trip and so far we've been pleasantly surprised with the level of professionalism and attention to detail on the part of the servers but this is the exception. Even the people sitting next to us were more friendly then our waitress and I accidentally flung a grain of rice at them while trying to wave off the wasps circling my plate. read more

German and French sounds a bit like lamb and tuna fish but I'm telling you people it was simply PERFECT. The flavor coming out of my steak was nothing short of perfection. Rare and juicy I closed my eyes as my mouth watered and forgot where I was for a second. The drinks were not overpriced and came right after we ordered with a smile from our English French and German fluent waiter. Deserts are also a must. Fine dining meets prohibition style ambience...this steakhouse is a must for anyone visiting Munich...The pages of different steak cuts and options is sure to please any palate. Our group ordered 2 different preparations of filet, a ribeye and the lamb dishes. All were succulent, tender and so flavorful. But we must not skip over the fairly sized spirits and wine options and appetizers we shared. They have an excellent lightly seared yellowtail tuna appetizer that was paired with a soy and sesame reduction that added to perfect balance of salty ness to bring out the flavor of the tuna but not overpower. They also have an extensive beef tartar selection that was impressive for sharing. And we must not forget dessert! We shared a duo of vanilla and chocolate creme brûlée's, Beignets served with an apple purée, decadent chocolate sauce and fresh whipped cream as well as the best affogato I've ever had and finally the most perfectly balanced salted caramel ice cream you could ever taste. We are on holiday in Munich and discovered this fabulous find! Don't be fooled by the casual decor - the highly-skilled chef/owners offer outstanding service and over-the-top deliciousness. Meat is their specialty but this isn't your standard-fare steakhouse.their fresh approach to the way they cook and present the finished fish is best described as Uber- experiential.
