Went with a friend for happy hour and definitely exceeded my expectations. The sangria was top notch and the deviled eggs were very good! Service was good, and the waiter was very attentive and gave good recommendations. Ambiance was solid, with even better outdoor seating for the nice weather. Highly recommend for a happy hour with good folk.

Popped in for the first time during happy hour! Their happy hour menu had lots of tapas and drink options, that were all very reasonably priced! We got large portions even on the happy hour menu! We started with a pitcher of the white sangria, it was very light and refreshing. And the pitcher was HUGE! Then I had the elotes, which was a very large portion, it had the perfect amount of spice and citrus zing and the cheese on it was very melty and yummy! I also had the Alubias Blanco, the pita with it was perfect grilled and had many slices, the hummus its self was very flavorful was a heaping portion! They have olive oil on the table so I dipped some of my pita in it and WOW it was good! Lastly I had the Pintox de Higo which was truly the star of the show. The goat cheese on it was perfectly creamy, the balsamic gave a beautiful sweetness and the bread its self wasn't too soft or too crunchy! The service was a little slow but over all we loved it and will definitely be back! It's also super cute inside, pretty small but not too loud! Beautiful artwork to look at as well! Parking was the biggest downfall but I was able to park about a block away and walk! They also have a beautiful patio out front as well!

La bodega experience was great today. Thanks to La bodega for the special curated lunch menu for the KC restaurant week. We get to try different dishes in the Tapas sampler (second course) today. Wall paintings, bar area, vibes gave us a proper Spanish experience. We started with House-made soup of the day (Black Bean soup) which was little tangy and actually good. Our second course was a tapas sampler which includes, 1. Pincho de pollo con chorizo - Looked like barbecued chicken & chorizo served in skewer sticks served with a garlic cumin aioli 2. Tortilla espanola - Looked like a potato & onion filled egg torta served with a roasted red pepper aioli 3. Datiles con jamon y chorizo - chorizo wrapped in a pancetta dipped in a fig coulis 4. Bolas de arroz - rice ball 5. Higos y queso de cabra - Goatcheese, roasted pepper, fig coulis in a roasted baguette 6. Brotxeta - pancetta wrapped shrimp My favorite one was #5, #3 & #1. Loved every bit of these 3. Staff suggested to try Almond cake & cheesecake. We loved the almond cake & cheesecake was okay.

Some friends of ours who have lived in KC for a long time recommended La Bodega as one of their favorite places. I had a friend visiting from Washington DC and my wife and I wanted to take her someplace cool and close to the Westin where she was staying. La Bodega fit the bill. The food was good and the service was good. We had a variety of dishes. I enjoy the tapas experience. We ordered the first one, which was a special and it came out quickly and it was delicious. Then I ordered a few more things. And was a little bit surprised when they brought them all within two minutes of each other. So we had four different plates to try all at the same time and they were just getting colder as we worked our way through the dishes. The kitchen/server timing could've been better. That was disappointing. Great sangria, a nice atmosphere and a lovely restaurant.

I can FINALLY cross La Bodega off my "need to try" list, and was it worth the wait! The restaurant itself has this kinda creepy under the bridge parking, that's roaring with cars up above, but once you get out from under there and into the restaurant, you're welcomed by kind greeters and even nicer waitresses. We were sat by a window for 2 and there was plenty of seating available with decent space in between. Beautiful Spanish paintings and photos around the place. Le bf ordered the albondigas, I think, which were meatballs in a cream sauce. I ordered 2 tapas, which were the montaditos del carne de cerdo and escalivada. I wish I was able to try a couple more, but that means the more reason to come back. OH! I also had their potato and leek soup, which was some of the heartiest and delicious starting soups I've ever had. The escalivada is a cold tapas and very refreshing with some pita bread. I liked the cold yogurt with grilled veggies. The pulled pork was a bit salty for my palate, might pass on that next time but worth the try. The cream sauce of the albondigas was DELISH and they came with mini crostinis! Le bf enjoyed the meatballs!

I had so much fun getting to try so many different dishes at my new favorite tapas place. Walking in I was delighted by the murals on the wall. They were gorgeous and set such a fun ambiance. I came for happy hour and left so satisfied. I got try the sangria pitcher and split it between two friends. It was sweet and delicious. I tried so many tapas but my favorite was definitely the elote and the skewered chicken. To end it off on a sweet note I got the Tarta De Chocolate. My only wish is that there were more strawberries. I had a great experience and will be back again soon!

Absolutely check this place out for happy hour! They have a Monday through Friday happy hour 2-5pm and man was is a DEAL. $8 tapas plates that are normally around $18. They also have their famous sangria half off for happy hour. We got to try so many different dishes that we wouldn't have been able to if it was at full price. My absolute favorite thing was probably the beef and pork meatballs in a white cream sauce. The bread with the goat cheese, roasted pepper, and fig balsamic was also delicious. There was tons of parking two under the bridge so it was an easy spot to park and walk to the door. I will definitely be bringing some friends back for the happy hour special here soon.

Checked out La Bodega's brunch menu this weekend. I really enjoyed the options! Started with Spanish Coffee, because you have to. It's a show and delicious. We picked a variety of items. Their French toast, a breakfast paella, a breakfast sandwich and steak and eggs to name a few. Most everything had great flavor. Ended with some sangria, because you have to. It's a great spot to get those Spanish flavors and try something new. The patio will be great this summer. Staff were so nice!

Went to La Bodega with my book club and we were seated in a little private area which was very nice for us to chat. Service was okay but there were a lot of us and we ordered A LOT of tapas. The food was very good. We had Elotes, seasonal items, papas fritas con ajo, patatas bravas, and more. We all loved the food and left nothing on any plate. Delicious and I would go again and think it's better for bigger groups so you can try more and split the cost more.

We really like it here. I feel like the food isn't super consistent between visits, however it is consistently good. Prices have also gone up over the years. Love sitting outside with all of the vehicles driving by. Lots to look at with a pretty good vibe. Service is always great. We have never had any complaints about that throughout all of our visits. Excellent date spot being tapas. You have to discuss likes and dislikes and share everything. I'm not married but we actually had our first date here.

We came here for a date night, yep 11 yrs of marriage and we still go on dates. La Bodega is a smallish place with some outdoor seating. The ousting area is really nice and has couches chairs and gates along with a fire out or two. Inside the decor is very spanish inspired as a Spanish tapas restaurant should be. We started with a bottle of wine and a meat and cheese board. You need to order the spanish blue cheese! Don't like blue cheese? Order it anyway. Then behan the tapas... we had 5 between us. And yes we shared. I ordered the deviled eggs with tuna and the meatballs. He ordered the pulled pork, the olive mix, and sausage medley. It is somewhat loud inside so conversing can be a challenge at times. Outside you would just have random traffic sounds. We welkom be going back to try the Paella and more tapas. Danella was our server and she was great and helped us make good choices.

    Patatas Bravas, Jalapeno, Sour Cream

Checked out La Bodega for restaurant week...I was expecting the lunch menu (Saturday at 12:30) but they were only serving brunch. We were super excited to try the paella which was on the restaurant week lunch menu. I asked the manager if we could order off menu and he asked the kitchen for us. The kitchen made us a two lunch sized paellas...I am so glad I asked because it was fantastic!!! We also ordered the brunch tapas sampler. It had a variety of breakfast items like an egg bake and more hearty things like bacon wrapped shrimp. It was busy and the atmosphere was great.

    Shehla A.

We ordered a mix of classic tapas at La Bodega. Everything was flavorful, comforting, and perfect for sharing with lots of bread on the side. Great spread, great vibe.

This rooftop gem on the Country Club Plaza has such a youthful, energetic vibe--perfect for a milestone like this. Our server was excellent--super friendly, attentive, and even recommended a beautiful and delicious cocktail that paired perfectly with our dinner. We went all out and sampled a ton from the menu: fried lobster tail, pepperoni pizza, spicy tuna roll, salmon roll, wagyu Nagiri, oysters with caviar, and wagyu sliders. Most of the food was absolutely delicious! The sushi rolls stood out with their unique flavors and beautiful presentation--what a nice surprise. Our absolute favorites were the wagyu nagiri (melt-in-your-mouth incredible) and the oysters with caviar. The wagyu sliders were also a hit. That said, the fried lobster tail was a bit of a letdown--chewy and lacking the flavor punch that everything else delivered. The atmosphere is lively and fun, but heads up: it gets very loud. We were at one of those tiny cocktail tables and basically had to yell across it to chat, which made conversation a challenge during dinner. On the bright side, we scored an amazing seat with a stunning view of the Plaza. Watching the sunset while eating was magical and made the whole experience feel extra special for a birthday. Overall, great food (with just a couple minor misses), awesome vibes, top-notch service, and that unbeatable rooftop setting. I can't believe I haven't written a review yet bc this place rocks my socks off!! The thing that blows my mind is that I've never had a bad meal here. We usually order 5-7 dishes here, and not a single one has been bad. Sure, we've had one, maaaaaybe 2 items where we were like, "okay, that was good but not amazing"--but it's rare. The first time I came here, I looked at the menu and was like, none of these words mean anything to me and some of these straight up sound like Harry Potter spells, but then the food comes and EVERYTHING tastes amazing. It's magical! The menu does rotate frequently, but somethings stay on for a while, like the cauliflower. Never have I ever been so excited about a head of cauliflower, but this one is just so delicious with the nuttiness of the almond slivers and the mild spices from the romesco. YUM. That's a dish you'll have to get! The cocktails are equally magical! The seasonal spritz is my go-to. Definitely don't snooze on the cocktails. They also have an interesting list of wines too, for those who are into some funky stuff. **They do have a sister restaurant called Anjin (which is supposed to be a "Japanese" Izakaya-esque experience) but as a Japanese person, it was a hard no for me. I even asked if there was someone more familiar with the menu I could speak to, but the responses were still very unclear. It made what should've been a simple process feel unnecessarily stressful. On a positive note, the seating was really nice. We had a great spot that worked well for a first date, and I did enjoy the low-lit ambiance. Once we finally received our food and drinks, parts of the meal were enjoyable. The standout for me was definitely the lamb meatballs they were flavorful and well cooked and looked veggies with them. I also tried muscles for the first time and they were really good. Drinks were also good. That said, my pasta was pretty bland, and overall, the menu didn't offer many gluten-free options despite what I had seen while researching beforehand. As someone who prioritizes places with solid gluten-free choices, this was disappointing. I did some research beforehand and saw that The Town Company received a James Beard nomination and had numerous glowing reviews, so I made sure to make a reservation a week in advance. The previous night, he had treated me to The Restaurant at 1900, which was fantastic, so we were expecting a meal of that caliber. That was not the case. To begin, the ambiance was fine. It was your typical, trendy upscale hotel restaurant that is dimly lit and has an open kitchen. We ordered the signature rolls, beef tartare, apple endive salad, and short rib-filet plate. After the rolls, everything went downhill, which was a huge disappointment. As for the rolls...who doesn't like a buttery, shokupan-like bread? The cultured butter they came with had a nice tang, but the carrot spread tasted like a salty, carrot-ginger soup concentrate. Not my favorite. After the bread was served, all of the other dishes were served so slowly that we wondered if they had forgotten us. While we were waiting, a server brought us the wrong dish and wordlessly took it away when we politely told them that we hadn't ordered it. Now that I think about it, the waitstaff here reminded me of the employees at Le Labo--same brand of aloof. The apple endive salad could have been delicious, but the amount of dressing overpowered its contents. All I could taste was a sweet, overly-acidic poppyseed dressing reminiscent of a store-bought bottle of Brianna's. I rarely complain that food is overseasoned, but that was the case with the salad and the next dish, the beef tartare. The beef tartare was so overloaded with lime, ginger, chili, lemongrass, and other spices that we couldn't really taste the beef at all. It reminded me of larb, which I wouldn't be mad at if I were ordering a LARB, not an overpriced beef tartare. The most disappointing plate of the night by far was the short rib and filet plate. Upon asking our waitress how many plates we should order, she told us that three small plates and one main dish would be more than enough, since the main, protein-centric dishes were "substantially larger." We were very wrong. We each got a small bite of short rib and one thumb-sized chunk of filet, which was served with--you guessed it--an overly salty, uninspired red wine sauce and giant, salt crystals. The parsnips and brussels sprouts were just...there. By the end of the meal, neither of us could hide our disappointment and decided to opt out of dessert. They brought us a complimentary after-dinner "truffle," which, to me, tasted like artificial fruit cereal and Pop Rocks coated in white chocolate. It was extremely underwhelming and gimmicky, and frankly, I haven't left a restaurant feeling pissed in a while. I was expecting a lot more from the Leach team and probably won't be back, but happy for the folks who enjoy this restaurant.

I'll be back for dinner as a staff member came by and spoke to me and provided a dinner menu; lamb, octopus, skirt steak, curry salmon. It looks incredible and u can't wait to ho back. THE STAFF!!!! Wow! Very sweet and engaging, very down home feel in the middle of downtown KC Stockyards.

The scallops were great the lettuce dishes with the spicy sauce. I'm still remembering the day and overall I hope the odors open a new place. I would definitely go in a minute and it was the wrong drive because I live in overland park. Service is very accommodating because we actually stayed past closing time and so we can still order drinks although I get the head to close. The ambience is really cool very modern but very subdued

Abel was amazing! Corvino Supper Club was the moment from…read morestart to finish. We booked this dinner as a little luxury treat, and baby they delivered. From the vibe to the wine to the plating, it gave sexy grown-up dinner with a side of culinary flex. We started with the chicken fried snails which were wild in the best way. Crunchy, earthy, and topped with something dark and rich that played well against the mossy breading. Very "if you know, you know" energy. The burrata was perfect. Creamy, lush, drizzled with citrusy olive oil, and paired with toast that was charred but not burnt. Like, it understood the assignment. Bonus points for the microgreens. We love a garnish that tries. The asparagus plate was light but layered. Braised fennel, hard-boiled eggs, and that béarnaise? A dream. Balanced, buttery, and spring-forward without being bland. Wine list is thoughtful. We went with red, and it paired beautifully with everything. Our server was kind, knowledgeable, and didn't rush us once. Corvino feels like Kansas City's answer to a date night in Chicago or New York. Elevated without the attitude. Sexy without trying too hard. If you're gonna spend, this is where you do it.
