Having been to this restaurant twice, I feel torn between giving it 3 stars or 4 stars. Perhaps 3.5…read morestars would be more appropriate. The first time I came to Sorrento was a few years ago now and I really enjoyed the evening and food. I thought the staff were amazing and was impressed with this little restaurant. However, I recently went a few weeks ago around Mothers Day. When I telephoned on the Wednesday to make a reservation for Saturday I found the man on the other end of the phone to be a bit abrupt. He advised me that the only slot they had was for 6pm, just after they open and added "if you want any later then you'll have to go somewhere else". To me, it sounded quite like I was inconveniencing him for making a booking at their restaurant. The food I ordered was fine, starter was better than the main course, but it wasn't as good as I'd expected and felt a bit disappointed as I remembered it being better the time begore. Even though I didn't feel particularly welcome to make a booking, I'd still recommend trying to make a reservation to avoid being turned away as this restaurant does get full pretty quickly. I think I'd return again just to see if next time I enjoy the experience a bit more, if next time I feel it's any better then I'll amend my review and leave it with 4 stars.

What a fantastic pub/restaurant. Comfy, friendly surroundings with wonderful helpful staff. Nice…read moremenu with the 'usual' pub fare, thankfully not too long and over extensive. Plenty to choose from for any palate. As it was a Sunday lunch three of us stuck to a roast while the one other in our party decided to be 'adventurous' on a Sunday with fish and chips??? I must admit the plate arrived and it did look delicious and smelled so fresh. The roast beef arrived two 'as it comes' with one preferring well done. All of it perfectly plated with plenty of vegetables, all so fresh. Only one slight problem, the knives need to be sharpened. I noticed that all three of us were 'tearing' the beef as it should have been cut. However, maybe I should have requested steak knives. All in all a delightful Sunday lunchtime with friends and we will certainly be back soon.

Our server was delightful she was so friendly, very pretty girl with braids, and while serving food also busted out a mean log fire to keep us warm. Truly a woman of many talents !!! She was truly awesome. We enjoyed the lunch so much we went back to have dinner before I returned to the U.S but were greeted by a very unfriendly older woman, I'm assuming she was some kind of management because she was brandishing a bunch of keys and rudely informed us from across the restaurant that unless we had booked online we could not eat. The pub was empty except for a table if 4 so not sure why she didn't welcome our business. This is the difference between good staff and bad staff, had we not had such a wonderful prior experience this pub would be getting a one star review. So management you can thank the pretty girl and the dude working with her that afternoon for the 5 stars. Your welcome.

As you can imagine, trying to find a take-away, or somewhere to eat-in is so limited, so it was really exciting to find somewhere that does a completely vegan lasagne that wasn't smotheted in pepper or chilli & it tasted amazing. I also ordered the vegan burger & was once again pleasantly surprised to find I could actually add goats cheese to it, I have never found anywhere, especially through delivery, that allowed me to do that, most seem to think I'm choosing vegan, so I wont want to add goats cheese, or eggs, I am not allergic to either of those, so it was so nice to have that choice. Delivery was very fast considering the distance the restaurant is away from me. On arrival, the driver was very pleasant & the items were packaged in really strong boxes to avoid the food getting damaged. I have not had a chance to try to the burger yet, because I suffered with my eyes being bigger than my belly syndrome, so I will save that for a midnight snack or for tomorrow, but the presentation looks really good. It is impossible to comment about the ambience in this review, because it was a delivery, not an in restaurant experience, but I was pleasantly surprised to find this is a restaurant as well as a take-away. I will definitely be booking a table with you within the next two weeks where I am sure the experience will be just as good, or even better Thank you for a very smooth transaction Wildwood :)

Waiters are friendly and helpful, if a few too many it appeared! service - strangely enough - is very efficient... Easily better quality and value than any competition in the area that I've visited. All in all an exceptionally good find which we will definitely visit again when next in the area (Tuesday???).

The food was fine, fresh tasting, and arrived quickly. It was cheap, we had a two for the price of one deal, and since there were almost a dozen of us it made a great saving. The bad points, however, were: Our waitress seemed utterly uninterested in us, just ordering our initial drinks was challenging. Having taken our food orders and brought the food (see below) she then failed to return to our table. Three times one of our party had to go and request service, and it was quiet in there a when we visited. We got our starters (garlic bread and ciabatta) at the same time as the main courses, which was a bit annoying. We also didn't get a side salad which we had ordered - I asked about this and was just ignored. One of the starters we had ordered was ciabatta with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. When the ciabatta arrived there was oil but no vinegar. I (with some effort) caught the waitress' eye and asked where the balsamic vinegar was, she looked at the plate and helpfully pointed out the olive oil (I had spotted that, thank you). She then went off and returned with an oil/vinegar cruet, which meant we got what we'd ordered - but did lack something in the presentation. I must say the level of service was remarkably poor. We were there for over two hours, but they just failed to attend to our table - they could have probably sold a couple of rounds of drinks, at least. A very minor point perhaps, but might reflect the level of care we seemed to get: If a lady carrying a baby and a nappy changing mat asks for directions to the toilet, where do you direct her? To the baby changing facilities on the ground floor, or upstairs to the women's toilets? This isn't customer care rocket science. I'll leave it there.

There is plenty of food to choose from, but I would particularly recommend going for one of their pizzas'. It also has a very good lunch time menu which is also very good on price. Some of the tables are a bit close together as it isn't the biggest place in the world they have obviously tred their best to maximise on the seating arrangements.
