I went this past week because I was looking for 2 specific items that I wasn't able to find at 2 other large Asian markets. Someone had suggested this Market because of the extensive ethnic choices. It has Asian (Korean, Chinese, Thai, Japanese, Filipino), European, South American, Hispanic and American items. There are sections that have premade Asian meals, fresh seafood, extensive fruits and vegetables, frozen foods, pantry staples, bakery items, almost anything you might want. It's a large market and you could spend hours going up and down the aisles exploring. I was surprised to find they even had a favorite pop that I only thought I could get in Michigan. Now I know that I can go here and get it, without having to have it ordered online. It can get busy on the weekends when everyone is doing their weekly shopping, but I went later in the day and was able to find parking and not bump into people or long lines.

It has slowly gone downhill since then. I have bought their quart container of squeezed pink grapefruit juice many times, it used to be very reasonable. For the past couple of months the price has risen to $13.99 a quart !!! Whole Foods has the same thing for $8.99. Other sources are no where near $13.99. That's price gouging. All the daily house hold products are also much higher than Target, Walmart, Kroger, Publix. I cannot believe people pay the prices. Unless they are on special, berry's and fruit's are more expensive than Publix or Kroger and they look like they are second or third tier quality. The same for the vegetables, some literally still have dirt on them and are definitely poor quality. I bought sushi the other day at the counter in the back, for the price it was great. I decided to buy extra Wasabi, there were three kinds on the counter. None had a price, not on the container, not on the shelf. I asked the person behind the counter what were the prices, they said they didn't know, I would have to carry the wasabi literally diagonally across the store and get a price. The person couldn't call and ask ?!?! How does an employee not notice these items are not priced !?!? I have always loved the cafeteria, their entrees are delicious. Now some of the trays have nothing in them and some have been sitting in the trays and have a skim on the top because they haven't even stirred them up obviously for hours. 40% off after 4;30pm, great deal, but half or more of the food is gone, by 5pm they have pretty much closed up. The Mex part is closed at 4:30pm. So sad, a great resource, just about ruined. They also used to have cooking classes, which were great. They haven't had a class in years. Today I go in and by 4 items, the lines are long, so I took it to the quick checkout near the entrance. A person in front of me had over 10 items, each bag was like 5 pounds of vegetables each. He was not an employee, be paid cash. I asked the cashier so the line is no longer 10 items or less? She shrugged her shoulders !!! There used to be 10 items or less registers, at least two. Both of those have been long gone. It looks like BHFM is adding self checkout, the registers are installed and have sat there 2 years !?!? Still not open. With skyrocketing grocery prices and the competition in the area BHFM management needs to wake up. The outside isn't looking its best either. I hate to write this, but come on BHFM !!! Yes, there are some good deals, especially specials, but they are no where near the quality / price of Whole Foods or Dekalb Farmers Market. The same for H MART, I want competitive pricing and quality products, as a local, the "novelty" effect means nothing to me.

Each aisle was easy to navigate, and the lighting wasn't overwhelming, which made the overall shopping experience feel comfortable. There's also a Starbucks and Bank of America located inside the store, so you can handle a little banking business while grabbing a treat or coffee. And for all my plant lovers, they had a great selection of outdoor plants, along with plenty of pumpkins to match the fall season. It's a large supermarket chain with deli, bakery departments, plus health, fuel center and beauty products. Kroger offers thousands of quality food and household products from your favorite brands and companies. From fresh produce, meats and seafood to dairy, home goods, fuel and pharmaceutical needs, Kroger is your one stop for savings and for your daily needs. This newly remodeled store is fantastic, very clean. All the staff are nice and helpful. I would definitely recommond this store for a visit if you are in the area. As is usual for a Kroger, the place was maintained clean and neat, well lit and stocked. I was able to go directly to the two items I needed, grab them, and go through self-checkout with no troubles whatsoever. This Kroger location also has gas pumps outside which makes is pretty convenient. The prices at this store are generally pretty competitive too so that's good. The only con is that there are not that many manned checkout counters and you have to use the self checkout version. They have a good selection of most other varieties of wines and beer, but yet their craft beer and can beer choices are very limited.

HM is well clean, well stocked and organized comparable to main stream grocers. HM stock ingredients popular with East Asians, not carried at common grocers such as soup mushrooms, variety of produces, rice, Asian snacks, variety of kimchee, speecialty sauces, seaweeds, fresh, frozen and dry noodles, cuts of meat, condiments, frozen and live seafood and typical Korean prepared foods etc. Beyond, fresh produce and live seafood, HM carry common brands with more processed foods with many add-ons, not the highest quality ingredients. So, I've been shopping less at H-Marts for the past couple of years and their pricing has risen outpacing high inflation. Previously, their pricing was reasonable for common ingredients in Asian cooking like scallions and soup mushrooms. However, the value largely disappeared ahead of inflation. To my surPrise, on my latest unplanned visit to this Doraville H-Mart, I found HIGH quality sauces with awesome prices! The ingredients were ReaL and zero synthetic chemicals! So, soO hapPy! They had a reset going on during my visit in September, 26. The CLEAN discovery prices were still higher than their usual brands but perhaps they are adding some higher quality goods? Beyond the groceries, this Doraville HM has a handful of restaurants in their food court, collectables / license goods, kitchenware, bakery, beauty, apparel shops and ATT. The Korean resto at the end near the exit is the best in my experience. The fish waffles at this location are a bit too sweet. The Cantonese resto is passable... their Singapore noodles are not as good Ming's. The trendy corndog resto seems to be popular. Service is helpful. The dessert includes two scoops of ube ice cream (ube is purple yam), dollop of ube jam, corn flakes (great texture enhancer), coconut strings, shaved ice & evaporated milk, and sweet beans. So I give up, and go get my groceries, when LO AND BEHOLD, an entire SHELF stocked with the exact same product.
