    Flamin Hot Cheetos elote

The tacos here are good! I've seen a couple of ppl mention them and kept saying I was gonna stop by and get some. Yesterday, I finally went for it. The taco place is in the back. I ordered three steak and one shredded beef. So darn good! Just thinking about it now, I want to go back and get some. I also bought Flamin Hot Cheetos elote from the last at the front of the store. It was okay. Get them tacos!

Been here several times now and have enjoyed it each time. The meat options are solid and have been delicious. I've had the asada, carnitas, cabeza, and al pastor. Served plain and you can add everything yourself at the well filled salsa bar. It's turned into the go to place for tacos along buford highway. Orders are taken at the register in the back. Service is kind and quick.

Came grab some tacos after seeing a few post on IG about them and I'm glad I did! Okay, so when I go on BUHI its usually for Asian food, but not this time. In this huge shopping center with a great big parking lot (love free parking) is this supermarket with a taqueria located in the back right corner. There menu is pretty simple, but if you aren't too familiar with spanish I suggest you have google translate ready. The lovely lady in the front took my order and handed me a ticket and let me know that once its ready someone will call the last two numbers. Simple enough for me! The details on my order 5 tacos for about $14, lengua, tripa, and asada. The salsa and side bar has everything you need to load your tacos how you like em' Both the creamy green salsa and red salsa had nice flavors.

You can buy a bigger container of the avocado salsa in one of their refrigerators in the supermarket- just ask! Prices of menu items have been adjusted up slightly but still very affordable. Food quality continues to be great, and you can call and place a takeout order to be picked up at the taqueria counter at the back of the store.

I'd seen this place so many times whenever driving by Pinetree Plaza thinking it was just a Mexican supermarket until finally I came across the Yelp reviews and saw their taco joint in the back of the store had 4.5 stars! I finally checked it out for the first time about a year ago - a true hidden gem! Their tacos, chicken enchiladas verde and chicken tamales are so good ... I'm guessing their other stuff are very good too but I hadn't gotten around to trying them yet. The've got a great complimentary condiment bar too with shredded cabbage slaw, chopped cilantro, white onions, radish, spicy avocado salsa, spicy red salsa, pico de gallo, and more -- when you get your tacos, they will have just the meat on double corn tortillas ... so they will look sad until you dress them up w/ the condiments. And their tacos are just $1.99 each! The people working there are very nice, and your food is cooked to order. If you love their pico de gallo and spicy avocado salsa like I do -- you can purchase a container of their fresh salsas for about $2.49+. And they sell huge bags of tortilla chips, corn tortillas, tostadas, etc. My go-to place when I'm craving Mexican and need a quick bite :) And you know it's gotta be good when you see a lot of Latino customers eating there.

Mexican coke, queso quesadilla, and carne asada and chorizo tacos with toppings.

My review is for the taco stand/prepared food in the back of the store! (Supermercado Chicago) is a mexican grocery on Buford Highway. Tucked into a shopping center with a Little Ceasers in the parking lot, and on the same side of the street as Hello Chicken (another delicious option in the area). There was plenty of parking in the lot on a Saturday afternoon at lunchtime. Walking into the supermarket I noticed the fresh baked goods case and ice cream counter on my left. There are some typical grocery store aisles with prepared foods and household goods. When you walk to the back you will see the taco stand on the left. Directly in front of it are some other delicious hot items in a case that are typical Mexican fare. I ordered a chorizo and carne asada taco, a queso quesadilla (fried corn tortilla with melty cheese), and a Mexican coke. My total came to $8, including tax. Originally, I planned to eat with my group but needed to change plans so I asked for a to-go box. My order was out in less than 10 minutes. I topped my tacos from the complimentary bar and chose fresh cabbage, onion, cilantro, and salsa verde. Every single thing was delicious and authentic! I would highly suggest coming to this place for a quick bite in the area to get some great quality tacos with big flavor. The quesadilla was absolutely delicious. I would recommend grabbing a napkin to soak up the oil from the freshly fried corn tortilla for the quesadilla, but it really was outstanding! Customer service here was amazing (the cashier was so incredibly sweet) and again, the food was what I've been searching for in terms of being authentic and great quality/flavor. I will definitely make this a regular stop on my list of lunch places!

Voted one of the best places for tacos in Atlanta!!! There is a small eating area inside of this supermarket. The restaurant closes at six so make sure you get there before then. The burrito was really tasty and I would go jack again. It's not a date place but the food is good.

The taqueria in the back of this grocery store has some really good and super cheap options for tacos. We tried a number of different tacos and enjoyed everything we ordered. Worth checking out if you're in the area. Plenty of parking in this lot as well. Nice to have the grocery store too with a wide variety of food options.

The taqueria counter inside this unassuming grocery should be on everyone's Buford Highway must-try list. While it may not be the best tacos you've ever had.. this counter offers the best tortillas I've had in street-style tacos in the area. It's definitely worth trying out their take on the classic taco. Food -- most menu items are in the $1.99 to $6.99 range (tacos, quesadillas, burritos, tamales, etc). And while they don't offer nachos, they do offer other speciality items like empanadas, gorditas and tamales. There is also a "pay by the pound" option for all of their taco fillings, like barbacoa, carnitas, al pastor, etc. to host your own taco Tuesday. The tacos are where it's at in my opinion. The tortillas they use are corn based but have a texture and taste that's reminiscent of a flour-corn hybrid, likely because they grill the tortillas so that the edges get toasty and crispy. I've docked a star from the review only because their tacos are on the pricier side ($2.29 for carnitas, $2.99 for al pastor). I recommend the carnitas tacos if you're a pork fan. The al pastor was also good, but as you're probably already aware, al pastor is always super oily and greasy. I also highly recommend the chicken burrito ($6.99) and pork tamales ($1.99). Service and ambience -- I was here at around 4pm on a weekend day and there was no line. Service was pretty fast, there is a cash register near the food counter in the back that you place your order at. There's also a small condiments bar with salsas, shredded cabbage, cilantro, jalapeños, and diced onions next to the register. There's limited counter seating available. I took my order to-go, and everything was still hot and fresh when I got home. The tacos are little pricier for what you're getting, relative to other taquerias in the area. But I love how different their tortillas are, and will definitely be back again.

Chicken, carne asada, and lengua tacos
    Leanna M.

We went to this place because we heard about the hype of the tacos and honestly expectations were exceeded. I am so into hole in the wall taco shops. The staff was very nice and food was made right in front of us fresh. I love lengua tacos and they were so delicious. I also got chicken and carne asada which were also great, but lengua is my all time favorite. They have a place to add all of your fixins, but be careful, because my fiancé dumped salsa on all three tacos without realizing how hot the salsa was and took away from the taste! I got three tacos but would get only two next time, I was too full!

My camera is awful it looks like I took this picture in the 70s

Driving down Buford Highway there are plenty of Mexican restaurants and all of them are good in their own way, and I am sure everyone has there own spots, but I am sorry mine is better. Chicago Supermarket located just inside the perimeter is my favorite Mexican eatery. Upon walking in one might think they have been swept away to Mexico. It has the loud mariochey music blairing over the home speakers on the wall the floors look unkempt, and there is not a gringo in sight. Walking to the back of the market one will find a counter. I am sure I have messed up the procedure every time I go there, but I just order from whoever seems to understand my gringonized Spanish. On this particular day I brought one of my past clients who is a little more opened minded. I ordered for us in my bad Spanish. Dos carne asada tacos (which was amazing) Lenguina taco, (which is beef tongue that was simmered in spices for several hours and just melts in your mouth) a pollo tamale (which normally I don't like but they make theirs in a style that is more traditional to the coast, which is done wrapped in banana leaves and has just the right amount of spice), and finally there Quesadilla with carne asada (in the words of the locals increíble). I also ordered mexican coke which has cane sugar instead of corn syrup and a bottle of water. I talked to the Mexican lady Rosa who prepared our meal, and she told me everything was made in house including the tortias. The grand total for this feast was $13.99. It was magnificent Mexican meal and the price put the meal over the top. Anyone who knows me knows my love for a good deal. Tip: Come on weekends there is more of a selection

A trip around the world and a walk down memory lane…read more It's been decades since I stepped foot inside the Buford Highway Farmers Market, and being back felt like a beautiful reunion. The last time I walked these aisles, I was with my mama, Donna Theresa. So much has changed since then, yet the soul of this place remains as vibrant as ever. It feels more expansive than I remember. A true global treasure tucked right here in the city. I'm still obsessed with how they organize the aisles by country. In just one afternoon, I traveled from Korea to Eastern Europe to Central America, no passport required! I was officially "team sample" the moment they offered! Unlike the heavy, sugary profile of traditional American cakes, these were a masterclass in balance. I tried the Neapolitan, a stunning phyllo-layered creation that was light, buttery, and perfectly textured. But the Lemon Cream Cake? It stole the entire show. It looked picture-perfect on the shelf, and the taste was even better. It was so bright, airy, and just the right amount of decadence. Coming back here wasn't just a grocery trip; it was a win for my palate and my heart. Now that I'm back in the area, you can bet this is becoming a regular stop on my rotation.
