Vera is top of the line talented and nice. She performed micro shading on my uneven, thin old brows and I could not be happier.

Okay, so I hesitated on writing this however, this is MY experience and every girl knows how…read moreexpensive hair is, so here goes.. I found this salon as it is in my area and when I first arrived I requested someone that is a MASTER at blonde hair. I was very particular and YES picky. Blonde hair is an art. I was paired with one of the stylists and I believe higher ups at this salon, however I won't name names out of respect. On the first visit I had a great experience, she was very personable and listened to what I wanted. I came in with a picture and showed her. The pic was of a shadow root and lighter/more natural towards the ends. She nailed that. However as time when on I became a little upset that I was paying a very high price and the entire time, other than the foil placements, I was with an assistant. This includes the wash and the dry. Meanwhile she was seeing other clients. I truly believe that getting your hair done is a personal experience and that if you're paying for someone who is a master at certain things, then they should be tending to you the entire time. Maybe not ALL the time if they need to slip in a quick cut or whatever. As the seasons changed I told her that I wanted a BRIGHT bleach platinum blonde. I showed her realistic photos of what I meant and I HAVE always had bright blonde. The photos were of my OLD hair before coming here. It just wasn't happening. I couldn't figure out if her formulas were off, she played it too safe or she just wasn't listening, I don't know but I eventually got fed up. I was spending in the $300s (which I have shoulder length hair) and then I felt guilty because of course tips are the norm... but I was tipping the main stylist for work I wasn't happy with on top of the assistant doing all the work. I was told I had "blonde blindness" which I felt a little offended by as I have ALWAYS had blonde hair. I am not a newbie at this. As all of this was happening I noticed the health of my hair declining badly. I noticed breakage all around my face and the ends felt like straw even with using purology and other good brands at home. I was surprised that the hair was so brittle and I wasn't even as blonde as I use to be. I finally found an amazing stylist locally who nailed what I had been asking for all along. She told me that a ton of my hair had broken off and that the damage was from overlapping of foils, which is a no no apparently. I cannot speak for any other stylists in the salon and the atmosphere is very clean and inviting. For me, I let my feelings ride at first about not having the stylist tend to me because if the work was great then fine. But all in all, I wasn't happy. Attached is a photo the new stylist took of all the breakage. In conclusion if you're seeking BRIGHT, platinum type blonde, this may not be the salon for you.

WORST Salon Experience -- Mismanagement, Damaged Scalp & Hair, and Disrespect from the Owner Down…read more It takes a lot for me to write a negative review, but what I experienced at this salon, especially under Bree's ownership, is unacceptable, and I feel responsible for warning others. Toxic Culture and Poor Management Several stylists have complained about Bree, the owner--citing manipulative behavior, pay stagnation, and lack of support. Prices keep rising, yet stylists are underpaid & undertrained. You're paying NYC rates for small-town talent. Their most senior stylist recently left, and several more are planning to. That kind of turnover is a red flag and always points to toxic leadership. They advertise themselves as an Aveda concept salon--but it's a disservice to the Aveda name. There's no real training or quality control. Bad Cut & Color I started at this salon w/ color appts. This year, I added a cut. I asked for layers--the stylist said they were there--but my hair always looked blunt & shapeless. Between the color and cut being off, i decided to try a new stylist. Months later, a new stylist said (unprompted) that my hair had no layers--just two uneven chunks w/ a 2.5-inch drop. Final Straw - Burned Scalp, Red Hair & No Accountability I booked a last-min appt and met with a 3rd stylist (the first one quit, the 2nd one was on vacation). I asked for chocolate brown. The stylist bleached my hair, dyed it, but I ended up w/ light brown, so she shampooed and added more color. Then suddenly--I had red hair. She said brown has "red undertones." I pushed back. She said she'd add toner. Instead, she brought out powder, poured it over my hair, and scrubbed so hard I could hear my hair snapping and feel my scalp burning. Afterward she said it was a color stripper. At that point, we were 3-4 shampoos in. She reapplied toner, it turned even redder. I had now been at the tub for 3 hrs for a gloss/color. She was adamant it was brown. She had agreed at the start to blow dry my hair (I didn't know it had to be booked separately), but after messing up my color, she said she "didn't have time" and blamed me for not requesting it. I asked to dry just some of it to confirm if it looked red or brown. She agreed to dry the front. She roughly combed through my curly, fine hair--despite me saying my scalp was raw. She blow-dried the front (only the front)--and it was clearly RED. Not red undertones. MY SCALP IS BURNING. I have visible open patches on my scalp that I've never had before. My scalp feels like there's carpet burn 4 hrs later!! Owner's Pathetic Response I was clearly upset when I left. The stylist knew. The front desk knew. The stylist even offered to stay late to fix it. Tension was obvious. Bree, the owner, was at the front but didn't introduce herself. She asked, "Everything okay?" I said, "No, I'm not," and left w/ tears in my eyes. In my car, I saw how red and PATCHY the "highlights" looked in the sunlight. I collected myself & called within 5 mins to speak to Bree. The receptionist said she "left." Then said she was "in an interview." I asked which was true--she got defensive. I asked for Bree's number--was told she'd call me. She never did. Instead, I got a generic text: "Hi Priti--My manager emailed you. I'm so sorry, let me know what I can do." I checked--NO EMAIL. That kind of avoidance explains why her team speaks about her the way they do. AVOID AT ALL COSTS This salon is mismanaged, unprofessional, and not what it advertises. Stylists are undertrained. My hair is damaged. My scalp is burned. The owner won't take accountability. I HAVEN'T GOT A REFUND. If you think this is just one angry review -- ask why 4-6 stylists have left or plan to. Check how much prices are increasing and see if you receive notification about it. This kind of turnover isn't random. If you value your hair, money, or health--go somewhere else. The reason she doesn't care is bc the stylists are leaving. She can then say on these review that there are new stylists...ITS YOU BREE! You're the problem.

Apparently she left the salon between my last visit and this one. I took a half a day off of work, drove the 30+ minutes to the salon, only to be told Chelsea's not there anymore and I no longer have an appointment. No call, text, or email (all of which they have and have used in the past) telling me my appointment was canceled. No heads up that my stylist left and asking if I wanted to switch to another one. Nothing. The receptionist was polite and let me know the manager wasn't in but she would let her know to contact me. I received a call later saying they would try to get me in with another master stylist - but then they asked what services I was getting! Chelsea is a master stylist - we talk about what we want to do, she makes it happen. I don't want or need to know the name of the services it goes under - I just want it done. I have spent thousands of dollars at this salon between my haircuts and color, my daughter's haircuts and tinsel application, and purchasing products. For them to cancel my appointment with no communication and then to apparently have no information available about my normal processes is just too much. While the stylists are lovely, the management is terrible. Find a stylist at a different Aveda salon where they value their customers.
