I'll start out by saying that I've been to La Bella many times before and had excellent service, but something seems to have changed. Both service and product quality has declined dramatically. We had appointments on 4/24/2023 for 3 pedicures/2 manicures for our upcoming vacation. All 3 of us felt rushed through, like we were keeping them from closing. They sat us right away for pedicures and that was the end of the good service. I soaked for less than 5 minutes and he was off to the races. He was halfway done before I could figure out how to turn on the chair massager. I was last to sit and first done, with barely any leg massage. Then came the manicure. He kept looking at his phone in between steps. When complete, my nails were still rough and catching on things. Speed seemed to come before quality. I was so annoyed, I just wanted to get out of there. As for product quality, I'd think that a $75 service would last longer than 6 days, but not in my case. Gel nails fell off right in the middle of vacation. So embarrassing. Clearly, something at La Bella has changed and I won't be back. It's such a shame, I used to praise this place up to everyone. I am NOT a "regular" here because I'm really hard on my nails and I would have to LIVE there in order to keep my nails looking perfect all the time. But I DO enjoy the experience occasionally. That said, I need to commend this salon ... and especially DAO, my usual provider, for exemplary service. The salon is NOT over-the-top luxurious, but has always been clean and well-organized. Some of the hardware could use attention, especially at the "drying station" seating. The "bull-pen" arrangement works well for the proprietor AND for me, since I am more interested in efficiency and NOT concerned about privacy. Everyone seems to be sensitive to COVID protocol, and I've never been worried about undue exposure, in spite of the close contact necessitated by the nature of the services. In spite of my infrequent status, I am always greeted warmly and treated like a member of their family. Dao is especially sweet AND efficient. She seems to know when I want to talk and when I prefer to be left to my paperwork and headphones. She remembers my preferences and she gives a GREAT calf massage! I have not gone the gel route, but I know that they DO give me the choice of traditional or gel. The salon also lists MANY spa services that I have never tried , do there must be a private room somewhere...? I would have no problem in recommending LaBella for Mani/pedi services. (They have been known to offer gift certificates at a discount around the holidays, so keep them in mind if you are Christmas shopping. I don't know if they will be offering them in 2021.) read more

They are constantly behind even though I schedule an appointment. My pedicure is rough, the tips of my nails are catching on my bed sheets. My entire nail is not even covered in color. * Update: I am officially a "Regular" at La Bella, and received my VIP nail toolbox last week. Tracy has been assigned as my go-to tech, and she really does exceptional work. After my third round with her, she started chatting and such (she is mostly focused on her work, so don't be put off if she's quiet, the results are worth it!), which is awesome...and I love that they have designated my own set of supplies at the salon! It's also more eco-friendly so that the buffing block can be used more than once before tossing, and I'm all for that. Really stoked that I stuck it through with La Bella, and can't recommend them more highly. Make an appointment in advance, and I'm sure you'll have an excellent experience as well. Now that I'm officially in the fold, they place a little "R" by name in the schedule, and it means a lot that they know I'm in there 2-3x per month when they have hundreds of clients coming and going weekly. #KaylaApproved -- -- -- Okay...so I'm pretty fussy, and have high expectations, after this experience with Bella wanted to time out and write a review. I had a subpar first experience with La Bella about six weeks ago, but wanted to give them another chance, as this is the cleanest and most modern salon I could find in the area after relocating, and I'm glad I did. I walked in today without an appointment, and the lead technician seemed to recognize me and was much nicer this time. Only had about a five minute wait, and then was seated for my pedicure. Tom did an excellent job today--my last pedicure was botched a bit, but this experience made up for it. I also had a gel manicure, and the second technician did an immaculate job. In the future, I'll definitely make an appointment so that they aren't stressed trying to shuffle around techs. I was fairly shocked when the lead tech made a call to a customer and asked if she wouldn't mind pushing back 15-20 minutes, which shows they respect time for their regulars. In the area, this is probably "the best" you'll find. Since moving here, I've been to Orange Pearl (hella expensive for basic service), and called Azone on the south side (they literally gave me attitude and hung up on me when they were busy, so I won't step foot in there). The other salons are a wee bit scary, and I won't risk infection. I feel safe here, and am cautiously optimistic that in a couple of weeks, they'll feel warmer toward me as a new regular. read more

I came here for a simple manicure on a Friday afternoon. This salon is pretty and overall it was pretty clean. I got a normal basic manicure and it was $20 without any tip. The service was just ok and the quality of the manicure was fair. I didn't think the color selection of regular polish was very big here but they had gel and dip colors that I didn't get so I did not look at those. For a simple straight up manicure I think 20 is on the pricy side but it was ok and they got tools for my nails from the autoclave which I think is very important no shared tools and sanitary. read more

Took my mom her for my Mothers Day, and being both our first times visiting this place we were a little nervous but it had good reviews. We both got gel manicures which were done perfectly! We've both gone to many different nail places and this was by far our favorite. The process wasn't rushed, attention to detail was great, and you could tell cleanliness was a priority. Im on day 5 of the manicure and it's holding up great (I work outside and am hard on my nails). Around $40 for a dip manicure Lows: my manicure was sub par at best, the shape looked awful and the technician filed them down so short (I didn't ask for that). The dip manicure lasted me about 2 weeks. About half way through the dip she transitioned into a gel technique, where my hand was placed under the light. I didn't mind this and overall my nails felt good. But my nails also weren't as sturdy as what they normally are with a dip & that's why I get them. So I was left pretty dissatisfied with the actual manicure. Everything else was great. read more

If I could leave a 0 star rating I would. I called to see if they had time for a dip mani, and 2 pedicures. I was told yes, and when we showed up we were sat immediately. That was the only positive of this experience. The woman who did mine and my mothers pedicure rushed through it in maybe 10 minutes, mind you it is a $35 service that you are supposed to receive a 30 minute pedicure for. Then when it came time for my dip manicure, the woman rushed that too, so bad that another one of the workers came over and looked at them and asked if I had time for her to try and fix them. I agreed, but the "fix" was to keep dipping my nails over and over. I left with the thickest nails ever, and within the first 10 minutes 2 of them chipped. This place used to be nice, but they didn't manage their growth in popularity well. My last three visits have been unpleasant, which I'm sad about, because this place used to be a gem. Lately, they are rude, rushed, and more expensive than the past. I usually get the gel pedicure, and instead of removing it professionally and patiently with lots of acetone and foil, now they use the mechanical scraper that ruins the nail. I also noticed that the cleaning now is spraying some Fantastic into the tub and barely rinsing. I don't prefer my feet soaked in Fantastic cleaner. :( My next pedicure will be at a full-service salon -- same price and healthier. read more

I was referred to La Bella by a friend, and I'm so glad that I listened to her. I had a great experience at La Bella. I called and scheduled an appointment for lunchtime and got put with Tracy almost right when I walked in. She did an excellent job and was able to get me into a full set with gel polish in under an hour, which is unheard of! Tracy was polite, very professional and listened to exactly what I wanted when she was sizing up and shaping my nails. I'm very particular when it comes to length and shape and she hit the nail right on the head. And at $46 for the service (before tip), it was worth every penny! I also looked at Metropolitan Salon and Spa, but their reviews for nail services weren't as strong. We did get our hair and makeup done at Metro and are happy with the services. La Bella was a great choice for nails! They were busy on a Friday morning, but accommodating. Seem to have lots of long-time clients, which is always a good sign. They also take sanitation seriously because we watched them scrub the pedicure basins between clients rigorously. They work efficiently, but pay attention to detail. Took off one star for the language barrier the bride had with her technician, which resulted in her getting two nails painted an accent color instead of one. However, this isn't a deal breaker and we are both happy with our shellac manicures and pedicures. Would recommend the salon and would return. read more

Honestly top 3 worst nail salons I've ever been to. The inside is dingy, but that's not what turned me off. They don't sanitize or use new products between clients, staff are not friendly, and the majority of them don't even know how to properly do dip powder on the nails. The guy who was first doing my nails cut me (now I'm seeing several other reviews about getting cut). He messed up several times on my dip powder on my nails, but never took of the excess powder leaving my nails extremely thick. Then the lady who came to "fix" my nails told me I can just come back tomorrow, but I don't live here and I'm also not wasting another hour at this salon when I was there for almost 3. Not to mention, for a crappy small town salon, this place is overpriced. I get my nails done better and at a way nicer salon where I'm from out of state for $45. They charged me $55 for dip here. My manicure is messy (air holes in the polish and cuticles not manicured so there is unpolished space that is very noticeable). I'm here in town for work and staying at the hotel right next door. I scheduled an appointment for 11am and it is now 12:15 and I have had my nails sitting in acetone for over an hour. my hands are numb so I finally decided to take my nails out of the acetone assuming I wouldn't be helped any time soon. there was no apology for such slow service. not only was my appointment neglected, they continue to take new people in over the phone. i've had a lot of bad mail experienfes and this is the worst one yet! will not come back here ever again! read more

I use to enjoy this place, the atmosphere is calming and relaxing overall..until your technician can't understand English and you're trying to stop them from leaving your toes/hands messed up looking, and then you have the manager come over and get an attitude with you. I give this place a 1 star because they reuse all foot scrubbers, nail filers, andthing you can think of that they use in this shop..is reused. I've been too other places where they take out products of packaging right in front of you. I try to go in for monthly pedicures at La Bella, and I am consistently impressed by the quality of the work. The experience itself is relaxing, and all tools are clean and well maintained. La Bella has a big selection of colors and great brands in stock. My pedicures last a long time even in sandal season, and despite the beating my feet receive from running. I've had a few gel manicures at La Bella as well, and the results are wonderful. They have a great selection of colors, and the service is always well done. I've gotten three weeks out of gels from La Bella! Also, I always get my brows waxed at La Bella and I've never had a better waxing experience! The best part about La Bella though is the wonderful staff. Everyone is friendly and kind! You are always greeted by name and you never feel ignored! Amazing pedicure. I've gotten pedicures across the country: New York, Iowa City, St Louis, Minneapolis, you name it. The last time I'd gotten a pedicure in LaCrosse, the pedicurist cut me and then tried to patch it up by putting clear nail polish on the wound. So I was understandably wary of WI pedis. But I desperately wanted to sit with my feet in hot water during the cold winter, so I took a chance on Suzy Le. Suzy Le changed my mind forever about the WI pedicure. They wrapped my feet in hot cloths, shaped my nails perfectly, gave me a fifteen-minute foot & calf massage. All this from a walk-in. They are fantastic. Couldn't recommend more highly. read more
