Nice little coffee shop right off of 154 highway. Staff was nice and quick with our order. The place was clean and spacious. They have conference rooms for meetings and small gatherings. I ordered a 12oz mocha to go. It wasn't scalding hot, but just the right temp. I liked that it wasn't overly sweat, which lots of places tend to do with their mochas. They had a selection of pasties, but I didn't indulge this time. Next time for sure! read more

La Barba is a beautiful Seattle like coffee shop with a delicious menu! Nothing on their coffee menu stands out at all but it has your basic options that you know are good. My experience with the staff for the several times I've been here is not incredible. The staff aren't the warmest people even when it's not very busy they don't ask any nice questions or tell you to have a good day so they could be friendlier. Alternatives for milk are pricey. Personal experience: My expectation for this place were really high since it did have four stars and it looks really cute through others people photos. Me and my friend were really excited to try this place out and when we got there we did like the whole layout but it did have limited seating which made it hard for us to sit down and talk. Service: This is where I am actually really upset. When we ordered we didn't feel welcomed at all, I got stared at the entire time by the cashier and barista which really made me uncomfortable because it felt like I wasn't welcomed. When I ordered I wasn't informed at all about them not having pastries which I was excited for but that's okay. Drinks: My friend ordered a Chai latte and I ordered myself an espresso, I'm not much of an espresso person but it was my first time so I can't really complain about it. My friend's chai was WAY over stimulated of sweetness and we just didn't want to be there anymore. More in-site: Honestly the whole experience wasn't welcoming nor comfortable or pleasant in general. After I tried my friends chai I was super upset and just ended up telling them to throw it away because I didn't want to fill their garbage with a whole drink. I can't tell you how many times people have recommended this place to meet up after work...sadly, they close at 4:00, so we have to pick another location. That aside, I was able to make it over recently during the day and found that it's a popular hangout-and for good reason. The coffee is great and the ambience is inviting. It's not the "hang out in the living room" vibe, but more of the open space, clubhouse hangout vibe. I observed two different groups sitting around large tables playing cards, multiple couples that were in deep conversation and several singletons with noise cancelling headphones plugging away at work on their laptops. There's a small patio outside and while dogs aren't allowed indoors, I saw a friendly golden retriever lazily sleeping under a table outside. It's a laid back place and I had half a mind to curl up with the good boi myself. Service is terrific-friendly, welcoming and quick. It didn't take long and the service was adequate (I know other reviews complain about the coldness of the service, but people come to places like this for the product). I ordered a cappuccino and a piece of coffee cake. The cake was good and had a nice layer of sugary crunch on top. It was slightly dry, but not too bad considering it was a bit later in the day. The drink was great, as it was exactly what I wanted with no frills. The aesthetic of the place is very modern and somewhat industrial, with a lot of gray and concrete. It's nice and bright, with plenty of natural light coming in. Due to it being busy, it can get a bit loud, but I've been in worse environments. That said, I was very happy with the music selection, as it sounded like it could've been my own playlist. Overall, this place is great and if you like good coffee, give it a shot. read more

I ordered 2 coffees and cookies (I ordered coffee with oat milk both and caramel syrup) as a result, I was charged for the additional payment of milk for both glasses, and they made it on a regular cow's milk, without returning the surcharge for oatmeal. The coffee was too hot, which is a bad indicator of the coffee shop. By the way, the syrup for which we paid an additional 75 cents in each glass turned out to be the cheapest in taste as water with sugar, although it was supposed to be a caramel sauce. As far as their food, the avocado toast is amazing! It has olive oil, seaweed flakes and red pepper flakes on top (if I remember correctly). I also love their plain butter and jam toast. If you're feeling something sweeter the berry coffee cake is a good option. I do wish they offered an açaí bowl or a smoothie (healthy breakfast options), or even their breakfast tacos like they do downtown. I'm sure they would be popular menu items! La Barba is the perfect place to work remotely for an afternoon. It's clean, relatively quiet, and it's got more than just coffee to keep you energized and focused. Typically when I see a menu of only "Toasts" I'm left uninterested. But La Barba has become the exception. I tried the prosciutto and goat cheese toast and my coworker had the avocado toast. I absolutely adored my experience at La Barba Coffee in Draper. I accidentally stumbled across this gem and was so pleased! The space was open, clean and the perfect minimal bit beautiful space. The staff was pleasant and lively- upon entering, I was greeted and felt right at home. I arrived around 10AM on a Sunday. There was a constant flow of traffic throughout my time there. I was impressed by the flow and it felt very neighborhood cafe, I loved the local presence. I ordered a RedEye and a Prosciutto and Goat Cheese toast. The coffee was strong and the food was prepared quickly. It was simple and fresh, exactly what I needed to start my study session. They also had several conference rooms for rent, which I appreciate so much. It's very encouraging for any aspiring business owner. It definitely sparked many things in me during my study session. The bathrooms were well kept, clean and readily available. I adored my experience and have adopted the cafe into my routine. However, it looked like the stars aligned, and fate brought me here once again, this time to Draper. All within the same year! I was "forced" to come here to Draper from California, to take my ABEM certification exam. It was the only test date and location available that I could register for. Coming back to La Barba made it worth it though, not to mention the ability to use the free drink tickets that came with my online order of their coffee beans. Since my visit to the Gateway's location, the pandemic has evolved a bit. There was open indoor seating, though social distancing was enforced. Onto the Goods: Ethiopia Banko Gotiti pour-over - if you've read my review for the Gateway location, you'd know I'm crazy about this coffee. The tones of blueberry, honeydew, and grapefruit tickle those taste buds like none other. Being here, I bought another 12 oz bag of this coffee and used my previous drink ticket on the pour-over that I enjoyed. Lo and behold, buying a bag earns me ANOTHER drink ticket. How am I ever going to use it? hmm.. Avocado toast - toasted and topped with nori, sea salt, and drizzled with olive oil. An awesome way to start the day, particularly before my exam. I devoured the whole thing. Never did I think I would have the opportunity to experience La Barba again. Given my geography, this is likely my last time unless they expand to California. I love La Barba. It's straight up the only non-chain/cool coffee shop in Draper. Very nice to finally have a chill spot to meet with friends. I'm not in love with the coffee. It's a little too acidic for me, but that's probably because I have had covid a couple times. Everyone else seems to really love it and I really wish I did too. The chai tea is my go to here and is paired well with the oatmeal. If you get the oatmeal know it comes loaded with goods and is even better if you ask for blueberries. They care about quality ingredients, and the milk is well sourced, so high five to them for that. They did an excellent job with the space. It is light, clean, sophisticated and urban. All in all I totally recommend this place and I think you'll be pleased with the overall experience too. read more
