We're from California came to Seattle Washington ran into this small mom & pops family own whole in the wall and we are so glad we did .the service was very attendant , a step ahead of everything . We hadn't been here in over 25 years and we are dumping our old Mexican restaurant in Fairwood. So the current owner Paco & Elizabeth are here about 1.5 years and offers a excellent meal. We will be back because everything was fresh & delicious. There refried beans & rice were delicious. Best beens anywhere so we brought home sone to enjoy later. The flat steak was delicious and there green salad is fresh as well. Yes we will be back! Buy the way they are open for breakfast at 7 am every day and close at 10 pm except Friday & Saturday they are open for Karaoke till 1:30 am. We were super impressed with the food at this little place. The accommodated our large party, brought us plenty of chips. They had just made homemade salsa and it was fresh and delicious. Family went out for dinner. We ordered all over the place. Steak, tacos, prawns, and chicken. All of it was good. No complaints even from my 9 year old who had some sort of creamy sauce prawns. Menu was bigger than I expected. Lots of options. Staff was friendly. We even talked babies for a minute with our server. Prices were decent. Wow has this place upgraded. Looks like as of April there's a new owner who by the way has EXCELLENT customer service. I normally take a picture of my food, but this time I was abnormally hungry and the food was too delicious to stop eating. I order the 2 enchiladas (it's a safe bet). I had one adobada and one carnitas. For a "Mexican Restaurant" and not a taqueria, their meat was on point. The adobada was tender, spicy and flavorful. The carnitas was cooked to perfection and perfectly seasoned. The meat had a nice tender bite with the crispy outer layer which is what you look for in carnitas. The beans were fresh and the rice was flavorful. However, it's about the meat rather than the side (my opinion). The server/owner - Christian was the star. He was engaging, asked helpful questions about the restaurant and ideas; he even threw in a free horchata, which by the way reminded me of how my grandmother made it for us as a kid. If you're reading this and are craving mexican food with great customer service and the "restaurant" vibe -- CHECK OUT La Bamba. I know I'll definitely be back, next time for a happy hour and the largest margarita on the menu, lol. read more

Absolutely terrible food. We just brought home a couple cold burritos that could only be described as watery. The Mexican pizzas were a shade under burnt and looked like someone shit on a plate. I made better food in my dorm room with a microwave. It cost $45 for this atrocious food (burrito, two Mexican pizzas, and a cheese quesadilla). DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY. If you'd been to La Bamba before 2021, think again. This is a new owner in the same place, but things have changed. There are a lot of hidden fees in the menu and they charge 3% on top of everything to use a credit card (it is posted in small print on the register, which you wouldn't see unless you complain). We had two tamales, an appetizer, one main, one beer and a well margarita. It was over $50. The menu lists prices, but don't expect that they will total up. The bill was a slip of paper with the total hand written on it. I asked about this and was told that they itemize when they run the card- not true, they just add more fees. The tamales were OK, but not worth the other issues with this place. The menu lists the street tacos as $5.99, but there is a note on the back of the menu that some meats are extra, well shrimp almost doubled the cost of the item ($11.25). Other items came on plates, but the street tacos were on a paper plate. The main was smaller than anything I've every seen in a Mexican restaurant (even for a lunch portion, this was dinner). The waitress even admitted that it was smaller than it should be, so it was slightly discounted. Everything felt like they were skimping on everything. Not a good way to start out. Overall, HUGE DISSAPOINTMENT. Hidden fees, small portions, drinks are anybody's guess as what you will be charged. Didn't get the impression that they cared that we were there at all. read more

So real quick, the waitress: real nice lady. So I've been going to this restaurant for 15+ years, I knew the previous owner and their family for a very long time. Their food used to be really really good, and the prices weren't that bad either. But let me tell you about my experiences ever since the ownership has changed. So, I had to actually explain to the waitress over here what a Roy Rodgers was, as she did not know what it was. I have never had to explain what that was before, because that should just be known. But my biggest problem right now, is the quality of food compared to what it was before the owners have changed. Now, I went over there to get a burrito with ground beef. However, they don't have ground beef anymore ever since the ownership has changed. So I had to settle for shredded beef, which I thought well, it should be fine right? Well, when my food arrived, it honestly was the worst burrito that I have ever had at a Mexican restaurant. And don't get me started about the rice and beans, it felt like I was eating food from a can that was heated in the microwave. The Roy Rodgers that they brought back to me, had way too much syrup, but it honestly was way better than the food that they brought back to me. The chips and salsa are about the same as they used to be, really good and I have no complaints about that. But here comes the next point, the price change between the old owner to this one. I feel like I'm eating something that is easily 10 times worse than what it used to be, yet it costs about 30% more than it used to be. I'm sad to say that I will never come to La Bamba ever again. At least not until they make their food better, because in the last 3 or 4 times that I have come here, the food was absolutely revolting. The only reason I'm not giving this 1 star, is out of respect for the old owners and because the waitress is really kind. Do not reply to this and tell me that you ensure that your ingredients and food are at top form, because if that is the case you need to go form higher than that. As for why the food isn't good? The blame could only be placed on the new ownership, because it's not the chef's fault that the ingredients are so cheap. If you are paying so much for food, why does it feel like I'm eating a Banquet dinner? Anyways, I apologize for my harsh criticism. Might come back and order your chips and salsa to take home, but that's it. read more

My boyfriend and I ordered here through uber eats about an hour ago. Our food kept getting delayed which isn't the restaurants fault at all. Our food did come cold so maybe that has a slight difference in food quality and taste. He ordered carne asada nachos. I ordered the three taco plate with refined beans and rice. We both loved the nachos. Even though they were cold they were super good. Had it been fresh, 10/10. My tacos were ok. I wasn't super impressed. The bottom fell apart because the ground beef was so greasy. My beans and rice that came with my meal were delicious. They were seasoned well and the rice didn't taste instant. I loved this part of my dish. All in all it was better than Taco Bell, but next time I'll probably go to el reconsito or another place that's... better. read more

This place never disappoints! I used to come here all the time as my favorite Mexican food place. No matter what I order, it is great. The portion sizes are excellent, fresh, not whimpy or chincy, all at really reasonable prices. I usually start out with a small tortilla soup (especially if I have a cold), and then order a burrito or chicken & mole. I love their mole (not the chocolate kind). And if I want to really go wild, I order the fried ice cream for dessert. So yummy! I moved away from the area about a year ago to get married. The service was excellent. Very friendly pretty lady who seemed like a manager or owner was helping the waiter & busgirl. My friend and I both had the #8 lunch special enchilada & taco. We both got the chicken enchilada with verde sauce & a shredded beef taco. Both items were lacking in the meat department. Could have used a little more verde sauce too. It did taste like there was tequila in the verde sauce which was not bad but I wasn't crazy about it. Good chips & salsa. Like the bean dip they give you with the chips too. $2.50 Sol & Bohemia beers are a great deal. Coke on tap & Pepsi in cans is a nice touch for soda specific peeps.
