La Argentina - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Katy, Texas

Came by on Halloween week on a chilly day. They had the World Series game going which was great (some of my family opted to stay home to not miss the game but could have had the best of both worlds!). They had a few customers but not too busy due to the weather. We tried the beef empanadas which were so nice and flavorful and just screamed comfort food. Even though it was unseasonably cold, I had promised my daughter a banana split as a treat. We both loved it and found it to be a great value. My favorite flavor was the chocolate but all three flavors were amazing. You can mix it up with the flavors too, but we opted for the traditional mix. This is the perfect size treat for our family of 3, and is such good quality that I would recommend to anyone looking for a nice treat. read more

My lord this place is absolutely delicious!!! I am so excited for this place especially since it's in katy!!! If you're a huge chocolate fan the Daniel's chocolate is AMAZING!!!! LISTEN TO ME WHEN I TELL YOU IT IS AMAZING!!! Today i tried something new. I got the Chantilly Di Frragola. Gosh I am sitting here now eating my Gelato trying to comprehend how tasty this is. My mouth is bursting with sweet flavor and I am so happy! The thing that makes this place unique is the Gelato is covered in a canister. Remindes me of a time capsule. Also, it keeps it cooler and it definitely sanitary! This is definitely my new dessert spot. Ohhh and the coffee is divineeeee read more

The service was really bad. The girls behind the counter seemed miserable. The one taking our order just stared and entered the order in the computer. It was so uncomfortable. Then they were yelling over each other because somehow they couldn't get the order right. Nothing wrong with the product, but otherwise awkward and uncomfortable. read more

Went here with some friends for some dessert and it was so good! The double milk chocolate, salted caramel, and daniels chocolate are all so yummy! the shop is also decorated very cute and the staff is very nice. Would definitely recommend coming here for some amazing ice cream! read more

Love this hidden gem! This place is decorated so cutely and is on the edge of mason and cinco ranch! Never would've discovered it but cant wait to go back! This place had the best service ever. I sampled their daniels chocolate, which was a little too rich for me to eat the whole thing, so i ordered the mascarpone raspberry. It tasted very similar to strawberry but was also very tart and sweet. You can never go wrong with their fruity flavors. They have so many different unique flavors that ive never seen before, and im so willing to go back and try all of them! The price is also very cheap, especially for the gourmet gelato you are getting! They pile gelato way above your cup too, so getting a small is more than enough in my opinion! Definitely recommend this place! read more

Fresh ingredients, tasty gelato, great little nook to eat it in, I liked it! The pistachio was fantastic, I also tried the fig, the lime basil also good but a bit tart. The basil comes through nicely though on that and it's a recommendation if you like tart-y. Love that they have minimal ingredients, fresh ingredients, unique flavors and a nice staff! I will say that I found it a bit pricey for the quantity but I guess you gonna pay for quality!! read more

Delicious. Not only is the gelato luxurious, but their savory menu items are full of flavor.

Really cute location. Delicious treats. A bit pricey but it's a well kept place. They have alfajores from a couple countries (Peru and maybe Argentina?). I highly recommend the Peruvian ones. I know the baker personally, she's incredible. The gelato is super sweet I warm you. read more

Wow! Incredible! I always thought Italians had the best gelato until I came here. The flavors are spot on. The product taste very real and not artificial. They come out with new flavors all the time. Pistachio....yea Pistachio is KILLER!!!!!! My suggestion is to go with 1/2 Daniels Chocolate and 1/2 pistachio. The 2 flavors compliment themselves and work fabulously. read more

The service was great, they let you try flavors which made it so hard to decide what to get since they're all so yummy. I highly recommend the Daniels chocolate, it's perfect if you're a chocolate lover. read more

When you're driving down on Mason, this complex is kind of hidden by large trees. So, you can kind of say that it is a hidden gem. La Argentina Gelato is an artisanal gelato shop that focuses on using natural flavors and quality ingredients. You can tell from the intense flavors and the creamy texture. Eating their ice cream is a luxury. Although they make some simple flavors as well, they push the limits on new flavor combinations and even push the limits with how the traditional flavors taste. They have amazed me with their quality and it gets addicting . I've been there at least 6 times in the past 2 months. Here are a few things I've tried: Coffee - 5/5 - Strong, not too acidic. Tea - 4/5 - nothing special but still good Daniel's chocolate - 5/5 - The delicious chunks of chocolate fudge or brownie. Rich. Dark. Just amazing. Pistachio - 5/5 - lots of chunks of pistachios. Creamy and slightly sweetened. My favorite ice cream of all time. Ginger rose- 5/5 - Aromatic. Well balanced. Peach blossom - 5/5 - Aromatic. Sweet and refreshing. I've also tried samples of almost all their flavors. Everything is delicious. The ones I listed were my all time favorite from ALL and ANY gelato shops. As I try to type up the descriptions, I realize it is difficult to describe how decadent, well-balanced, and flavorful all their ice cream taste. The customer service is amazing here. I love the ambiance. It's very chilly so bring a jacket. It's a nice place to study during the day. It's a great place to spend time with the family especially in the hot Texas weather. You can even stop by and bring home a pint. read more

What a wonderful little hidden gem in Katy! This shop, hidden in a lottle strip center down Mason Rd, has been in Katy for the past 3 years & even though I've lived here for the past 8 years I just discovered La Argentina yesterday! I was hoping this place would be a blend of Italian & Argentinian ways of making Gelato (due to Argentina's close past to Italy) and I was right. They use a combination of both countries techniques and ingredients when making their Gelato, and it results in a wonderfully smooth & rich tasting Gelato. And thank you to Louis for being so kind & patient while helping me choose a flavor for the first time! read more

The ice cream is delicious too bad the customer service is horrible. The female employees act like they don't even want you there, they don't even welcome you in or give you any information... the owners really need to talk to them, awesome location, good ice cream. Bad bad customer service read more

Amazing gelato shop. At first sight, it was in a small hidden area. I'm so glad we gave it a chance though. The lady was super nice and let us try almost every flavor. They all stood out, in the end we ended up with Tiramisi, a hazelnut one, and pistachio. Tiramisu had swirls of cocoa and incredibly creamy and rich. Tastes exactly like the cake except. The hazelnut one was out of this world. Don't even get me started on pistachio. For someone who loves pistachio, this was the best pistachio icecream I've ever had. Every bite was filled with finely chopped salted pistachios. Will definitely come back! read more

I love this place! Im not a huge ice cream/gelato person but after having gelato here, i cant stop thinking about it and wanting it! I didn't feel like this when I had gelato in Italy! I dream about their ice cream when I'm at work sometimes... They have all the standard flavors like vanilla and chocolate but I love the unique ones more! Piacolla (s/p??) is hazlenut which is my favorite. It's pretty similar to pistachio but I love the bits of pistachio nuts in the gelato. I also love passion fruit but it was a little too sweet for me. Cookies and cream is really creamy. A small includes two flavors with generous portions ~$5. They're a little pricey but you forget about the cost once you dig in ;) They also sell coffee, other sweet drinks, and desserts like cake and macarons. On Tuesdays, they do bogo free gelato! Can't wait to go back! read more

All I can say right now is WOW!! The staff is so so nice and there are soooo many flavors - I think I sampled all of them, or maybe I lost track! The gelato is exceptional in flavor and you can tell it's so fresh!! They also really fill up the cups. The medium cup looked kinda small to me, but I almost didn't finish my order of Super Dulce de Leche and Ferrero Rocher. Granted they were heavy flavors, but the fact remains that you get big scoops and you definitely get your money's worth here. I'll certainly come back again! :) read more

I think I twirl with happiness every time I step out of La Argentina! Their gelato is THE BEST in Katy. I was the annoying customer that tried each flavor and I can honestly say that each flavor was powerful and made you want to dance! I am a fan of their pistachio with the Daniels Chocolate! They are both rich and compliment each other perfectly. The shop itself is clean and up to date. The staff are all so sweet and make sure that you are happy with your choosing. I've been here a number of times now and this place deserves every one of its 5 stars. Their gelato is fresh, unique and everything you want in a frozen dessert. Their store is clean, full of neat little treats and surprises, if you blink you will miss the little chocolates just to the right of the register. I've yet to find a place a place that matched my favorite gelato place in Seattle, until now. One thing unique about La Argentina is their gelato is not on display like most other places, you do need to ask about some of their flavors and they will gladly give samples. Daniel chocolate is my favorite but their coconut is really great as well. Their Dulce de Leche is also a great choice and I loved the pistachio I had today as well. This is now our family's favorite treat spot. The portions are also larger than most tea cup sizes you get at other gelato places too. read more

I went for their dulce de leche ice cream, VERY GOOD!! But next time serve me a little more, it seemed she was trying to save that ice cream.... it's probably their best seller, MAKE MORE! I got two flavors and it was 30% dulce the leche and 70% the other flavor.... NOT FAIR. When I asked her for only one flavor she insisted on two. Running out of ice cream or what.....? Very tasty though, I y get me wrong... read more

Delicious Daniels chocolate, great customer service!!! Will definitely be coming back!

Their Daniel Chocolate is gelato perfected. Rich, creaming chocolate with something akin to brownie batter in pockets and then beautiful, un-disruptive caramel swirls that make the entire flavoring somehow more balanced. Go to Katy, go get gelato, then echo my sentiments here on Yelp. The space is also clean, intimate, and flooded with natural light, and the service was great, especially if you're interested in practicing your Spanish! The staff we had during all three interactions were Argentine. read more

I was checking out local ice cream/gelato shops on Yelp and saw that La Argentina had 5 stars! I decided to stop in and try them out. I'm so glad I did. In fact, I went back for a 2nd time in the same week. The flavors I tried are: Cookies and Cream-very creamy with the perfect amount of cookie bits. Almond and fig - it was good but not a favorite so far. The almond flavoring was dead on and there are morsels of fig. Strawberry-yummy natural strawberries in gelato are a dream. Super Dulce de Leche-very very good. Has a chocolatey flavor with pieces of caramel throughout. This would be my favorite so far. Apple and cream cheese- can't remember the name but it's wonderful. The apple flavor does not overwhelm the cream cheese so it makes for a wonderful combination. I was also allowed to taste one of the bonboms, which was dark chocolate filled with strawberry gelato. It was delightful. La Argentina definitely has a repeat customer in me! read more
