L2 Lounge in Chinatown was the OG bubble tea place in Montreal. Like before bubble tea was cool, lol. This location has a special place in my heart because when I was living in Montreal I had a friend who liked all the things I liked and we would hang out at L2. We have since drifted apart after I left Montreal and our lives went in different directions, but I always think of her when I have a bubble tea at L2 ;) Anyway, I was back there recently and it's not too different from what I remembered it to be. They have a few more choices of drinks and toppings, and prices might have gone up a bit, but it's still the same. On my most recent visit I had a small Pina Colada ($4) with tapioca (additional $0.50). No added sugar. The drink was the right amount of sweetness. It was smooth and creamy with a strong pineapple and coconut flavour. The tapioca were soft and chewy, but not as numerous as I would have liked. There's free WiFi, the password is by the cash register. Service was polite and efficient. There's lots of seating, but the place is super popular so it fills up quickly and gets quite loud in there. It's full of teenagers and early 20-somethings, so I felt a bit old in there on my most recent visit, haha. Anyway, I like that L2 has actually seating because the other bubble tea places in Chinatown don't have any seating (Chatime, Presotea and Kabiga Thé). I'm glad that L2 Chinatown is still going strong after all these years :)

Their beverages come in small, large or ex-large sizes. I ordered the watermelon smoothie made with real fruits with a choice of milk or yogurt, but I'm glad they can make them without dairy. The smoothie was refreshing and sweet. Although I'm not a fan of the sakura pearls. Their texture is harder and chewier than tapioca pearls, and it feels unnatural.

This place is great! I love that you can grab drink and a meal and just sit there and play games for as long as you want. My friend and I were looking for a place to hang out and just drink and snack while we played uno and this place is perfect for that. Lots of other people come just to play games as a group. The line does get quite long but they serve you fairly quickly. I got the brown sugar boba and it was delicious. I also got the poutine because i just had to try it and it was decent. My friend got the fried pork chops and those I was really not a fan of. Would not re-order. A fan of this place!

I ordered a large okinawa mt with boba, a bit sweet but really good boba. The cashier was friendly and there were nice vibes to sit and hang.

Was really craving buckets and decided to try entice head high reviews, this place popped up on Google maps with pretty good reviews. Decided to try it, and here we are. The place has a sign on the Main Street and a staircase leading to a different floor behind it. They actually bubble tea place is located on the 2nd floor of this building. And it's hidden gem. It's the perfect place to study out get work done while seeing the Main Street at your fingertips. There actually buckets tasted great, hot and cold. The tapioca was fresh and tasty, def more authentic than your regular franchise location. Highly recommend it for all its diverse flavours.

Honestly, this is one the OGs starting the bubble tea craze in Montreal and they're still very popular. Every time I come here it's always at least a 20 minute wait and well worth the wait. The selection you have here is ridiculous. How do you want your boba tea today? The options are insaaaane. I went with a mango black tea with popping passion fruit. Delish. Well prepped. You can also order food here but never tried. Seating if you want to sit and chat but never bothered. Price is decent.

I came with two friends on a trip visiting from Toronto and we were craving bubble tea so we came here. We ordered the jasmine, taro, and matcha milk tea and they were all way too sweet and artificial tasting. It was "liquid death" as we called it because it was simply flavoured syrup. It's sad because we didn't even want to finish them (and didn't). We should've just gone to good ol' Chatime which was just down the street from here but our curiosity got the best of us.

This lounge is definitely the place to be any night of the week. The teas and snacks here are great and the service is fast. You get to see the latest and greatest crazy Asian hairstyles and there are almost 100 different types of teas to choose from. My favorite are their shaken frothy teas, because many places do not have them. I love all of the different kinds, but still go back to the black milk shaken tea most often. When walking around Montreal Chinatown at night, look up on the upper floors to see which places would be the most fun to go to. You will quickly see that this teahouse is the busiest of all. I should have taken more photos, maybe next year. For some reason the Foosball table here is quite popular.

Fairly easy to miss this place but that could be said about a lot of Chinatown spots. Look for the magenta colored sign that says "L2" on it. Head up the stairs and then go left, then you're there. It was cash only but that was because their debit card machine broke. There was an ATM in the store so that was fairly helpful as we only had card and USD. I got the coffee milk tea with no bubbles. They also serve food and there's a foosball table inside too.

After wandering around downtown Montreal / chinatown, we decided it was time for bubbletea. My friend brought me to this upstairs taiwanese lounge to try out their drinks. Atmosphere: 3.5/5 Conveniently located and walkable from where I was staying. This spacious upstairs lounge has plenty of seating just for relaxing, studying or catching up. However, it was a little hard to tell from the exterior though that there was a bubbletea place upstairs. When we arrived in the late afternoon, it was not too busy and a bit dark, but I was told it does get busier. Overall satisfactory. Food: 3.5/5 I ordered an oolong milk tea regular size; overall tasted good and unsweetened just the way I like it; boba are extra $ Service: 3.5/5 overall friendly and efficient; unfortunately they only accept cash or debit Price: 3.5/5 reasonable and comparable to back home Overall: 3.5/5 Overall good bubble tea joint with some food options in a relaxed atmosphere in an upstairs lounge; conveniently located in downtown / chinatown. I would definitely consider returning for example as a late night non-alcoholic option!

For me I have been in search of the best boba tea in Montreal and this could rank up for me so far as one of the best. It's location is in Chinatown and surprisingly right across the street a Chatime has popped up! Talk about direct competition! They must have not been happy when someone opens up right across from you! As a yardstick I use Chatime for my boba. The reason being is that Chatime leads in personalization. You can set your levels of sugar and ice to your desire. Therefore. I was quite skeptical if something could top Chatime. Ladies and gentlemen, I have only tried one but I'm impressed so far. One my visit I ordered a L milk tea with grass jelly. The drink was fresh had a wonderful tea flavour and the grass jelly was just perfect consistency. Overall this drink was a solid 4/5. L2 lounge also has a great area for hanging out and small HK style plates of Asian snacks. If I was a young hungry student I'd come study or hang out at a place like this on a consistent basis! WIFI also available. I must come back to sample more and will update my review.

Cozy place for a bubble tea in the heart of Chinatown. I ordered a classic bubble tea but they had way more stuff like juices and desserts. Reasonably priced.

The oolong milk tea tastes sweet and bland. Nothing special except you can taste sugar mix with water.

I ordered my raspberry and custard danish to pair with my Americano coffee... but I also wanted something more substantial so I went with the pancetta. Well, I thought I was ordering the pancetta, when I pointed at the item with the sign for it, it was actually a ham and cheese croissant...but until they served it I didn't know that's what I had pointed to. When I questioned it that it didn't look like pancetta they said that people always mix that up... I guess maybe they ought to display it differently, but they happily made me the pancetta and I took it to go because at that point I had already bit into the ham and cheese and that along with the danish and coffee, it was enough for then... They didn't charge me for the pancetta! That was NICE, so I gave them an extra tip in the jar, because they were very gracious about it. The danish was very good and went nicely with the coffee. I enjoyed my window seat overlooking the street (until the bee came....) Later, when I went to eat the pancetta, I unwrapped it and found it to be barely filled with any meat, but certainly plenty of greens. It wasn't pleasant, so I didn't really take but a couple bites before throwing that away. I'm glad I didn't pay for it, if that's how it normally comes. Overall I'd go again and order the danish and coffee. The ham and cheese was actually pretty good too. But I'd be careful on the pancetta.. maybe it was a one-off situation.

It can get busy and the lines form out the door, but the pastries and coffee are worth it. We ordered the chocolate and pistachio filled croissants and donuts. I would rate both chocolate and pistachio filled croissants a 9/10 and the donut versions of each a 7/10. I felt the croissants tasted better and had more filling. We ordered the Remix which is authentic freddo expresso, cafe crema soft serve and topped off with hot frothed milk and chocolate. This was a 10/10 and was every bit of amazing as it looks in the picture. Service was fast and friendly. One note, they don't have flavored coffees, so I couldn't order a caramel latte, for example. Overall, great coffee shop that we enjoyed every day during our stay.

We ordered a hot chocolate, cappuccino, tiramisu, and an affogato, and every single item exceeded expectations. The hot chocolate was rich, smooth, and indulgent without being overly sweet -- pure comfort in a cup. The cappuccino was perfectly brewed with bold espresso flavor and beautifully textured milk, exactly how a great Italian-style coffee should be. The highlight of our visit, without question, was the affogato. It was hands down the best I've ever had. The pistachio gelato was unbelievably creamy, nutty, and flavorful, and when paired with the hot espresso, it created an unforgettable balance of temperature and taste. It was truly out of this world and worth the visit on its own. To finish, the tiramisu was light, perfectly layered, and not overpowering -- a flawless end to an already incredible experience. Everything tasted fresh, thoughtfully prepared, and authentic. Café Olimpico isn't just a café -- it's an experience. Exceptional quality, consistency, and passion in every cup and dessert. Highly recommended, and absolutely a place we'll keep coming back to.

During my own research, I also learned this was a popular spot known for their high quality Italian pastries. Since we were in Mile End and looking for some coffee and carbs, we thought it would be a good place to check out, so off we went. The café sits on a corner among several other commercial businesses; the entrance catches the eye with a hunter green awning that dons the Olympic torch and rings, as well as some outdoor seating. The inside very much gives off Italian café vibes - it's a medium-sized open area with tables scattered throughout. The production counter sits to the left where orders are placed, and televisions with different sports are projected across the perimeter. In addition to this location in Mile End, they have three other locations. We definitely wanted to get some coffee, but I didn't want to leave without browsing their bakes so I was scanning what they had. They have a good variety of coffee beverages, as well as several pastries. I ultimately decided to get a cappuccino, and we split three bakes: a pistachio cornetto, a ricotta bomboloni, and an amaretto cookie. The bakes were good. The cornetto was filled with pistachio cream which is kinda played out due to the Dubai chocolate craze - but the cornetto was nice and airy with a good filling ratio. The bombolini was also good as was the cookie - really high-quality bakes all around. Service was good, and overall I really enjoyed my experience at Café Olimpico. The coffee and pastries were good, and the vibes are on. I wouldn't hesitate to return the next time I'm in Montreal.
