The overall experience was great and the final results exceeded our expectations. I first interviewed few Yelp top rated landscaping companies, among which Happy Roots came to the top. The project manager, Mari, was professional, yet easy to work with. He gave us lots of ideas and answered all the questions we had. When he told me that Happy Roots also did landscaping for my neighbor's yard, which we really liked, I knew I found the right company. To make the most of our small yard, we asked Ben to do the computer 3D Design. Ben was very knowledgeable for plant selections and has a great eye for design. The 3D design plan really helped us to visualize the finish product. Since we wanted more than we had planned, the total costs exceeded our budget, but Amy made accommodation to help us to stay within our budget. I think their price is kind of on the middle. Meri and his team worked super hard and paid attention to details. They even worked on rainy days and Thanksgiving holidays. Once in awhile I pointed out something was different than I expected, a quick adjustment was done the same or next day. What transformation! We had high hope and now the results were even better. I feel our living space has been extended. I would highly recommend Happy Roots Landscaping for my friends, neighbors, and everyone. They are professional, creative, and also affordable. I will use them again when it's time for my project phase II.

The project included a complete redo of our large landscape area. It included complete replacement of drainage, irrigation, ground modification and soil prep. She personally picked out the hundreds of plants and trees and directed her staff in planting. She helped design and had installed almost 100 new landscape lights with transformers. She helped us modify the landscape design to achieve our goal and closely supervised her staff. She was onsite frequently and did all of the plant placement decisions. She was instrumental in adding some major enhancements to the original landscape plan. Her 3 employees who did the job were outstanding and worked tirelessly every day. Their attention to detail and quality of work was exceptional. Martin made major adjustments in irrigation, drainage, equipment choices and ground modification to complete the job properly. Both Raul and Pompello did excellent jobs. Overall we highly recommend Janet and her team for any landscape project.

She has knowledge in multiple areas that make her well equipped to address the project holistically rather than just address part of it. Throughout the entire project I always knew what to expect from her team, what they needed from me and when, and how much/when the payments were due. 3. She is very reasonably priced, especially given her combination of skills and the quality of her team members. We learned they have all been working together for 20+ years and it shows in their efficiency and quality of work. Our experience with her was so great that we have already reached out to ask her to work on another project for us.

I was so pleased with their work that I asked them to install decomposed granite (DG) and additional turf in the front yard as well. What we were trying to do was unorthodox from an approach perspective but she tried to meet me in every way possible and wasn't just trying to make a quick buck. Here communication was great and although we didn't end up doing the full project she was able to help us bring part of the project to life and work within our constraints. This was huge as I had no imagination and Helena was able to help us really think through something so we had an end vision of what was possible. What impressed us most was her dedication to the customer. Throughout the process, she prioritized our satisfaction which we loved. Her professionalism and focus on meeting our needs were outstanding. I would highly recommend her for any outdoor landscaping project and more. We fully intend to use her team for any future projects we may have because Helena's vision for our yard made all the difference. Details: We had our backyard completely redone because it was chopped up in small unusable sections and it was just generally a mess. We had three different estimates to do the job and they all came in roughly the same price. So what was the difference? Helena's vision and communication. She was able to quickly see what our yard could look like and help us see it too. But while we were impressed with Helena's creativity, the good vibes didn't stop there. As the project went on, if there was something we weren't 100% happy with, Helena was sure to work with us to make it right. The biggest example of this? The pavers that we had purchased ended up coming from two different batches/lots and so when they were installed there was a bit of a color mismatch that wasn't really visible until after it was all laid out. After a full install of the pavers, we asked Helena about the slight mismatch and she agreed that it could look better. She went to her supplier, fought for us to get new pavers, and reinstalled the pavers for no additional cost. She is someone you want in your corner. As we went through our project, there were a few unexpected hiccups, but nothing major. Each time something would come up though, Helena would suggest multiple solutions, and if we chose a solution that would add some additional cost due to increased labor and materials from what we originally planned, we always felt that Helena was fair and reasonable with her price adjustment. Best of all, it was easy to talk to her if at any point we weren't satisfied with something or how things were going. It's been about six months since our yard was finished and we are so pleased with how it all turned out. Plan to upload before and after pictures later, but don't currently have them. The transformation was amazing though and me and my family have loved actually using our yard to its fullest potential!

When the owner, Jon Bolin, met with us, he pointed out some areas of the original design that wouldn't meet our goals of low maintenance and also some aspects that were unnecessarily increasing the cost of the project. He suggested some modifications that we really liked, and we moved forward with having him update the design and submit a quote. He gave us a price break on the design updates since we had already paid the other company for a design. His price was competitive with the estimates we had from the previous company. Jon's crew completed the entire installation in 4 weeks. Roberto and Angel were at the property nearly every day during this time and we were very happy with the work they did. They worked hard and were very polite whenever they needed anything from us. Some days, a larger crew came out, such as when the concrete was poured. This included oversight by Marty, who was also great to work with. Jon was on site several days each week to make sure things were going well, talk us through anything that had come up, and answer any questions we had. He was quick to identify and address anything that needed to be adjusted, such as moving a drip line to allow for AC installation we have coming up. We are very happy with the end result and have gotten many compliments on our new yard. Jon and the entire Timberwood crew were easy to work with. Jon communicated well throughout the process and once installation was done, came out the following week to talk us through maintenance and see how everything was looking. He has promised to come out again in 3 weeks to adjust the irrigation schedule once the plants are established. We definitely recommend Timberwood and will happily use them in the future if we need any additional work done.

We scheduled an initial consultation at the house, but unfortunately, I was just getting over Covid and John felt uncomfortable and wanted to reschedule for Monday in the morning. Totally get it, no big deal. I decided to work from home to make sure I was there to walk John around the yard. We discussed our design ideas and he gave some feedback. He gave me an excellent price for replacing the 4 valves that controlled my front sprinkler system, fixing a broken pipe damaged by a tree root and installed a new sprinkler controller. The work was professionally done. Then, I asked him to look at my back sprinkler system which for months was no longer watering adequately. After looking over the sprinklers and doing a flow test, he determined that I had a blockage somewhere in pipe running through the house to the back. I quickly identified where the blockage was (a water filter system) and took it out of service, which restored my system to normal functioning. I would never have thought of that without his expertise. For quality work, price and expertise, he cannot be beaten in my estimation.

After meeting with several high-pressure landscaping companies, working with Dan was a breath of fresh air. Once the project started, we met Hector, the foreman, along with Tito and Marcos. They are hardworking, genuine people who clearly enjoy what they do. Over the two-week project they removed heavy roots, took down a large tree, prepared the ground, installed plants, created a beautiful rock garden, added a sprinkler system and lighting, and repaired and painted the fences. Our backyard was transformed from a messy "jungle" into a neat, beautiful oasis. One thing that really stood out: after the job was technically finished, Dan and his crew came back early the next morning to reposition two 300-plus-pound rocks so everything was exactly how we wanted it.
