L P Auto is a hidden gem. Mr. Lee is one of the most genuine mechanics I had the pleasure of working with. He was able to address, inspect, and fix my problem all within a day. All I ended up needing was to tighten a control arm bolt, which a shady mechanic could have easily upsold me on. I went to LP Auto Repair upon recommendation from a friend after I got unsatisfactory repairs (at a premium price) from another place down the street Lee the owner really knows cars and takes pride in his work and is very thorough. The first shop I went to incorrectly installed shock absorbers on my 2008 Honda Fit resulting in a bumping noise. He also will tell you which repairs to prioritize and those which can wait, His prices are very fair and he takes the time to explain what is going on in understandable terms. Not recommend this body shop, such a terrible. This store owner is truly a sophisticated robber, I brought the car in and he promised me it would be repaired within a week, at a cost of $3500. After 1 week he said that my car needed more repairs and it was the A/C, I found that not necessary at this time I just wanted the car to be fixed quickly, and after another week it has now been 2 weeks , I called him again and said he needed more items for my car and the price was very high, you guys can't believe that from $3500 he quoted another price after 2 weeks for a total of $6500, he still hasn't given me an answer what additional items he add to my car, but he still asked for $6500 while I did not agree. Previously I had deposited $2000 for him, and when I came to pick up the car, he said I need to paid him the remaining $4000 but he said my car was not 100% finished yet. I said if it wasn't 100% done, why did he make me pay an extra $4000 when I didn't agree with the extra amount he charged. After an hour of arguing, he knew he couldn't get the extra $4,000 from me, so he asked me to pay $1,000. After I come back picked up the car (there were still some parts that had not been fully repaired), I contacted the bank to get my money back and what's even more terrible is that this body shop owner forged my signature on the receipt. He charge high price but use cheap material. Honestly not recommend this body shop. read more

I can honestly say, someone coming from a hospitality background for over 14 years, Lee is one of the kindest, most hospitable, and most helpful repairs guys I have come across. Not only him, but his son and his daughter in law as well, stepping in to help when needed. I believe this is my fourth time seeing him and he is honestly just a kind genuine guy who gets the job done. I have been to other mechanics and places that do inspection and repairs, and am always intimidated because I know nothing about cars, and some other people just give off this intimidating serious energy whereas Lee is personable, kind and assuring. I bring my 2000 4runner, and my 1972 Mercedes Benz 280se 4.5. Lee always knows what's wrong and what not to worry about. His work is excellent and gives a detailed printed bill. I would never have had the confidence to buy the Benz without knowing he would help me keep it on the road. For anyone who lives in Dorchester it is a great location, to drop off and walk home, he also can organize a rental loaner. My neighbor brings his Triumph, BMW, Honda, Mini, and Karmann Ghia. I'm so glad I decided to call this shop, as Lee helped me figure out what was wrong with my car and fixed it within a week! One of the transmission lines to my 2009 Mazda had suddenly disconnected and almost all the transmission oil leaked out. At the time I didn't know this and I thought I needed a new transmission but Lee reassured me that it was only the lines. He tightly reattached the line that disconnected, made sure the other lines were secure and replaced the oil that had leaked out. Lee is a kind, personable gentleman who explains everything in layman's terms and is easy to get along with! I definitely will be coming back if I need any future repairs! read more
