The owner/chef is from Algeria and is the nicest person to talk to even though we don't speak French. Had the dinner special. Can't go wrong plus the brick is the bomb! I had the chicken brick and my partner had beef. She was totally blown away by our meal too. Wish we had found this gem a week ago! Help yourself to the mint tea as well. Gluten-free notes: You can have the mint tea! Many of the desserts contain almond flour, but many also contain semoule (wheat!). I was enjoying my appetizer so much without knowing it wasn't the main course. then came the main course! three different meats straight off the grill on kebab sticks, lamb chicken and a seasoned sausage that was also probably lamb. anyway the lamb is cooked so well you can barely tell its lamb. oh man, the garlic aoili type sauce is so addicting, I spread that on my pita bread (I think I had 8 slices), and dipped my lamb in it too. everything was so delicious! lastly, came dessert, which my stomach by then had no hope for. the waiter took note of this and kindly packed it for me along with the rest of my unfinished meal, including the pita bread I requested to take home. oh, and don't forget to get some of that garlic (tsaziki?) sauce home too! it'd be a loss if you didn't! all this for 20€ and I've got enough left to have as a dinner! thank you Le Mezzé!h

I suspect the waitress dropped the knife as she was passing behind my back. She was non-apologetic and extremely aggressive and rude. Arguing that she did not know where the knife was coming from?! This should not have been her first reaction. I have to assume that somehow she lost the knife from a plate. She kept arguing with me when I pointed out that she should have shown some concerns and simply apologize. She initially did not. Eventually she came to her senses and finally somehow gave a fake apology. We left the premises without eating anything. The atmosphere was dark and kind of depressed. It's a Kurdish restaurant in a gritty part of Paris that sells dürüm wraps, which are essentially a Turkish street food made by rolling soft flatbread around grilled meat and fresh vegetables. After a rough first meal in the City of Light that was a €50 half chicken, my soul needed this. Everything is made to order right in front of your face, and it SHOWS. We went with a chicken and a beef durum that ran €9.50, which gave my Chase Sapphire Preferred card a much needed breather. I'm struggling to find adjectives that describe how good this soft flatbread was, and I'm rarely at a loss for words. The best I can come up with is "tangibly fresh." I preferred the beef to the chicken, as it almost melted in your mouth. So damn tender. Whenever anyone asks me for a Paris rec, Urfa Dürüm will be right near the top of my list.
