In Maine for vacation and decided to stop at the LL Bean campus to check it out. We mainly came for a Boat & Tote. Looked online and the home store was the location to check out. Got there and the place was neat and full of stuff you'd love if you had a waterfront home. Sadly selection of Boat & Totes was down to one color and size. No selection what so ever. I would recommend you avoid this store if you like home good type furniture, decor and local artisan foods. On a serious note, I prefer to shop at the L.L. Bean Home store more than the retail store itself. They have everything from furniture, outdoor cooking gear, bedding, jams/jellies, dog toys and accessories, glassware, lots of snack options and many many more items. Staff is always friendly and you may wait in line for 2-4 minutes, but you will spend 30+ minutes looking around, sitting on furniture and debating whether you want to go back and get something you saw. Prices are reasonable for some items, but custom designed items will come with a price tag that is worth it if you are willing to pay a l little more. The staff will say some of the dog chew toys are indestructible, but my 50lb German Shepherd - Chinese Shar Pei mix will prove you otherwise. She destroyed one of their chew toys in a matter of minutes. That's the only reason for the 4-star was false sense of how sturdy their dog chew toys were. read more

The L.L. Bean Home store is a seperate location across from their Main store. They sell items for your home, kitchen, garden, bedding, furniture, specialty Maine made and local items. A lot of these items are not in the Main store or on their website. It is 2 stories with bedding and linens and bathrooms upstairs. They sell couches, sectionals with or without slipcovers, pretty lamps, durable rugs and a large assortment of waterhog mats, bird feeders, nautical maps, cookbooks, dog toys, accessories and treats, outdoor thermometers, lobster buoy with numbers, and lots of Maine themed house and kitchen accessories. LL Bean campus is home!! The home store on this main campus rocks my world. I was limited on what I could buy and take home with me because of flying but I'm having items shipped back. Why not? Sept 2023, Labor Day weekend at the LL Bean Home Store in Freeport,ME. What Labor Day SALES? I should have stayed home because the drive up from Westchester, NY was not worth the trip. On our last trip in 2019, there were SALES galore all over the Home Store. We even purchased a two set of towels at a nice price. Upstarts they had a plethora of bathroom towels and mats, this year on our 2023 trip we couldn't believe our eyes the selection of bathroom towels was shockingly low. Plus, most of the towels sets were already bundled as a set. You really couldn't look through each towel to see if they had snags, you had to take the bundle and hope when you got it home it had no snags. Like the other LL Bean stores we visited that day they wanted you to open an LL Bean Credit Card to get 25 percent off the original price, are they for real. All and all, the LL Bean Home Store was NOT worth the drive because the SALES could not be found as in the past years. read more

L.L. Bean is the perfect place to go celebrate and feel festive with family and friends for the holiday cold-weather time of year! They have decorated to their fall festive fun potential with trees, trains & more inside and of course their fish , wild animals taxidermy& more. ... And then outside lights and trees and Coco and... ice-skating! Absolutely fabulous destination for feel good holiday fun! I highly recommend you do not miss this! read more

All the stuff in here is nice and there's lots of nautical / rustic / camping themed furniture. While mother and wife looked at accent pieces I posted up on a very comfortable couch and became part of the exhibit. They have a collection of curio books which I assume are specifically made for situations like mine. I learned how to properly create a campfire and bought a toy for our little white fluff ball of a dog back in Texas. It's not only a good place to shop but is a great place to relax while the wife spends all your money. :-) Pro tip: there's a Ben and Jerry's and Hammocks out front. read more

The opportunity to see all this LL Bean stuff in a multi-level huge location was a treat in itself. There was an outlet town and although the town shops across the street closed at 6p , my understanding was that the LLBean store was open 24 hours. I really enjoy coming here with my family. There is sometimes movie night right outside, and the store is beautiful on the inside.

I love going to L.L. Bean. I'm a born and raised northern Mainer. I will always believe LL Bean boots, slippers, and backpacks are the best around. Not only that, I just like being in the store. It's a friendly and inviting atmosphere and I just have fun when I'm in here. Not really a fan of the women's clothing or outerwear, but the footwear is great and a staple all around the country. I will always own a pair of boots and slippers. The staff is always nice and helpful. There are always fun events going on year round outside of the LL Bean complex as well. The summer concert series has some really great national talent playing free right on the lawn and is worth checking out! read more

Grab Your Wallet LL Bean has great customer service and very nice clothes, and I have been a customer for many years. However, I just found out they are still on the "Grab Your Wallet" list for companies that contribute to the Trump campaign. In fact after he was first elected, I considered joining the boycott against them. Their CEO, an LL Bean family member, called us "West Coast bullies" for boycotting. Nevertheless, email replies from the company indicated she was not a big player, so I continued buying from them. Fast-forward to 2019 and I find out they are among the few companies who have never dropped off the list! Goodbye LLBean. You were over-priced anyway. read more

Decent selection and great service! This place has all kinds of bikes, equipment, shoes and clothes, tools, a service area, books and magazines - you name it! Upstairs they have a large kayak and canoe selection - even a nice variety of Paddleboards and equipment. We purchased bike shoes (with clips), and they installed the clips for us no charge. LL Beans bike shop has impressed me on many occasions. The huge selection of tools has allowed to me perform most of my own setup and maintenance. The prices beat any LBS around and the availability is very good. Most recently I had my race wheels tuned up. Tim was able to replace the bearings in a hub other shops were afraid to tear into. He was also able to true the wheels very well, even though they were relatively old, uneven and had some stubborn spokes. The genuine interest, honesty, and ability of the crew at LL Bean is superb. Typical bike shop for the most part. Service is where they excel. My wife had some questions and concerns about her bike seat. The service guy answered all her questions and directed her to what he felt would be the best seat for her. After purchasing the saddle, they took her bike and told us to come back in an hour.
