Let me preface this by saying, in the past, L.L. Bean has been the pinnacle of excellence in Customer Service. Not so anymore
Two weeks ago I ordered $260.00 worth of clothes I needed to go work a storm if a Hurricane hit Texas. I am a Catastrophic Insurance Claims adjuster. I needed water proof, lightweight pants and collared golf shirts. I ordered these clothes in the thought, that if a Hurricane hit anywhere in the Gulf I would be ready with the right clothes and enough clothes to be away from home for a month.
I ordered the clothes two weeks ago and while I am leaving for Texas tomorrow I called last night to find out that they had not only screwed up the order they lied about trying to contact me about it.
I was told the Card I used (an LL Bean Visa card) was unauthorized. This is complete BS as I have been using it around town recently with no issue. In addition to them lying about this, I asked them how I was able to order $260.00 worth of clothes through an LL Bean rep without that rep telling me the card was unauthorized at the time of purchase. Obviously the liar I was speaking to couldn't answer that question.
I do not appreciate that LL Bean wouldn't acknowledged or bare responsibility for the ordering snafus. Just being honest with customers demonstrates an organizational integrity and LL Bean has none in my eyes.
So I "authorized" the card, the order went through and this morning I get a confirmation e-mail including personal information (phone, address) that I had changed over a year ago. When I pulled up my account on line - all my correct information was there, but the Mothership was working with year old BAD data on my account. I called and asked how this could be possible and all you ever get from these people is, "I'm so sorry Mr. O'Neil, I'm so sorry Mr O'Neil." Never a cogent or responsible answer.
There were three or four more major transgressions that just blew my mind until a Manager (the second Manager....the first one, Carl was abysmal and when I called back and got the second Manager, Carl had performed NONE of what he said he would do for me) finally helped me, but I am not spending another ounce on critiquing this dump.
Their help just lies to you, their word holds no integrity, and not one of the five people I spoke to in the last 24 hours mentioned that I had $60.00 worth of Coupons I could have used to offset my bill. Oh great, Liars and THIEVES. When I asked one of their reps why they didn't mention I had these discounts available to possibly allay my frustrations, this snide fool actually said, "they are YOUR Coupons, if you don't know enough to use them, its not our responsibility to mention them to you".....REALLY?? That's how you treat a Customer that has been so for more than 35 years?
Guess What LL Bean, it's not my responsibility to shop at this dump in Maine. Maybe your owner might like to pull his head our of this clown in the White House's backside and worry about what was once a good, venerable Corporation. Now it is like every terrible outlet out there. I will never shop here again. #liars #crooks and #thieves. Three cheers for LL Bean for going from one of the best Corporations in the US to just another sh*thole. read more
