No! This place was…read morereally disappointing. Came here based on reviews, but I. would caution anyone to steer clear of this place. It started with flat champagne drinks. That's just a fail, and it suggests a place that doesn't bother keeping things fresh. It kind of went downhill from there. We were looking for nice fresh fish and chips, wile we were out along the coast. We live near the coast ourselves, and are no strangers to good seafood. We decided to do the Cod and the Halibut fish and chips. While the halibut seemed fresh, the cod was waxy and looked old, and frankly i found it somehow mildly nauseating. I couldn't bring myself to teat it. The batter was crsipy, but lacked seasoning and tasted really flat (cardboard?). Aside from that, the coleslaw seemed pretty old soggy. Gross. Not impressed at all - some of the worst fish and chips I have ever had. Some people may like this kind of food - but i will actively avoid this place the next time in Astoria. Hard pass. i'm nauseous just thinking back to my experience here. Could hardly get away fast enough...

To start with, I had a really hard time finding this place because the building and signs are…read moredifferent than what is available online. The halibut was soft and wet rather than dry and meaty. The crab louie salad was underwhelming in both size and flavor. We spent over $60 and didn't feel like we got much. So what is the name of this place?

Because we were driving through on our road trip, we decided to make a stop here for a late lunch this last Tuesday afternoon, around 2:15 pm. After we parked, we walked inside and headed towards the salad bar/ hot bar food area. After looking around (there is also a counter that you can order made to order sandwiches and burritos), I ended up deciding to purchase the following: Peanut Chicken Sesame Noodle Salad, $8.99- This was quite a massive portion so I only ended up eating about 1/3 of it and then had the rest over the next few days (I ended up mixing it with some chopped cucumbers and tomatoes that I had to make a large salad). I loved the peanut sesame dressing and noodles in this salad but wished there was more chicken. Mayak Egg Noodle Bowl, $8.99- My husband picked this salad for himself but I didn't have any. He thought it was good and appreciated something fresh, as his bowl had shredded cabbage, like my salad, and cucumbers and shredded carrots. Pumpkin Pie, $6.99- My husband saw this small pumpkin pie and decided to get it because he is such a big fan of it. I actually don't like pumpkin as much as when I was much younger. But I did like this pie and thought the flavors were well balanced, not too overly sweet. ---------------------------------------- (Total= $24.97) I really appreciated that the little dining area (there is also an outdoor dining area as well but because it had rained previously, we opted to sit inside) had plastic bowls and plates available for you to put your food in. This was helpful for me to be able to thoroughly mix my noodle salad since the dressing was mostly on the bottom. Then after I mixed it, I just put it back in the plastic container and only left about 1/3 of the salad in my bowl to eat. If I lived in this area, I would definitely be a regularly of this market (specifically for the prepared food area).

Staff were very engaging and friendly. Salad bar/deli/prepared foods clean and well organized…read more Rotisserie chickens look delicious. Lots of different items that are not found in national chains. HOWEVER, I know the items are organic/local but we thought the prices were extremely high. Did not make a purchase.

Estrella's Cheese can be found at Beecher's Handmade Cheese, DeLaurenti, Whole Foods, Madison Market and The Cheese Cellar. My fiance' and I had signed up with a tour group sponsored by The Edgewater Hotel. We met at the Hotel around 8:00am and joined an intimate group of 6 which included a couple visiting Seattle, a father and son duo, the Chef and our Tour Guide. The tour provided transportation and a boxed lunch courtesy of the Chef. The ride down to the Creamery would average around 45 minutes to an hour so Chef supplied a well planned out game which he tested our knowledge on cheese and congratulated the winning team with Max McCalman & David Gibbons book "A Connoisseur's Guide to the Worlds Best Cheese". We didn't win. :( boo. lol Arriving around 9:30am, we were greeted by the entire Estrella Family. Kelli led the tour which took us through their entire operation to how they raise and milk their cows and goats and the cheese cellar where we got a chance to see more than a decade of cheeses. After the tour of the farm, Kelli brought us into the factory. Sanitized, capped and booties on, we were ready to make some cheese! It was so much fun! Having the chance to be a part of the process was amazing! After cleaning up, we headed outside where Kelli surprised us with wine and a table spread of cheeses. It was so fresh! I have never tasted cheese with so much flavor and definition. You could taste the freshness of the farm and the care they take in the process. At the end of the tour, we made sure to bring home a bag of this organic goodness and not to mention, made some great new friends. What a great day! :)
