Great place with a VIEW!…read more The Hotel/Bar has just opened a few months ago. Compared to the surroundings in this area prices are really fair. 14€ for a Mojito is still a lot, but this is Paris. Staff is super friendly and you have a terrific view over the city, with the Eiffel Tower being right in the middle! Paris is not really known for making great Cocktails, but the Mojito we had here, was really fresh and tasted great! The drinks and tapas were good, albeit a bit pricey (ranging from 13€ for a pretty standard drink to 35€ for charcuterie), but clearly you're paying to be 19 floors up in the middle of La Défense. The place good (not great), but has a nice little vibe and is English-speaker friendly. Overall, I'd go again! FYI - kitchen closes at 11.

Classy ambiance with delicious food!…read more We came here after wandering the Champs Elysees. We had a reservation, and were seated quickly in the open-air deck. We had a great view of the comings and goings of the Cours la Reine, and the Seine over the road. My salmon was a bit dry, but when eaten with the sauce and peas, was moisturized and flavored well. My lunch date's duck was delicious! Juicy and flavorful, it was a delicious bite. The bread served on the house is a bit dry, but flaky. The chips were salty and crunchy. Overall, I hope to return!

The restaurant has a gorgeous main dining room and terrace, but unfortunately they stuck us in the reject room (I didn't bother to take a picture), a small annex dining room off the main large space. It had nice views of the terrace, and at least we had a table by the window, but I regretfully wish I had spoken up at the time and asked to be seated elsewhere with better ambiance. We were served bread and popovers, a fun and unique alternative to the standard bread offering. They were crusty on the outside, pillowy soft on the inside, and had a nice buttery and eggy flavor. The food was delicious but quite rich in general. Mom and I went halfsies on two dishes. The first was the parmentier, a dish of duck confit topped with potato purée. It was luscious and flavorful, but probably contained an epic amount of butter. It was quite greasy and the potatoes were absolutely butter laden. Imagine rich duck confit topped with the absolutely heaviest and richest potato purée in the world, and that is this dish. Rich but good. It was impossible to finish because of the richness, even though we swapped our plates halfway through eating so we could sample both of our selections. We also tried the Scottish salmon with green lentils and bacon. The fish was cooked perfectly and the lentils were super flavorful. This was also a tad decadent due to the bacon-laced stewed lentils beneath the fish. I'm glad we opted for only main courses and not appetizers and/or desserts. Because this place is so posh compared to some of the other restaurants we visited on our trip, I feel like the service was also less warm in comparison to other experiences. Some of the staff was actually a bit rude to us when after our meal we wanted to go onto the terrace to take a look at the view. A server actually said we should have just asked to be seated there, like it was our fault. Very strange and awkward. Based on my personal experience, Le Mini Palais was overrated and the service was lacking. Even though the food was generally good, just heavy, I wouldn't come back here for a future meal, nor would I recommend it. There are far better restaurants in Paris with much better food and service!

We started with the Carciofi Alla Romana (Roman-Style artichokes, oven-baked with lemon, Parmesan, white wine & basil). I chose the latter and let me tell you, that Linguine might just be the best pasta I've ever had in my life! SERIOUSLY, and I've had plenty. The only tragedy, is I was so full I couldn't finish, and my hotel wasn't equipped with a fridge or microwave to let me relive the magic via leftovers . We wrapped the night with strawberry sorbet and the Crema Al Limone, sweet, tangy, and the perfect finale. So if nothing more, here's a reminder to stop playing it safe, "travel is to LIVE!"

When we arrived around 7:45 PM the restaurant was reasonably busy--all of the outdoor seating was taken even though it was a pretty chilly day and there were a good number of people seated inside already too. The restaurant seemed clean and the lighting in the restaurant was intimate (a bit dark). All told we spent about 3.5 hours at the restaurant as we started with drinks first and it took a little while for everyone to get settled. Everyone ordered between 1-3 alcoholic drinks over the course of the meal, and we also ordered 4 pizzas to share: margherita, Napoli, 4 cheese and mortadella / pistachio. This largely sufficed for 8 people with reasonable appetites. The pizzas were tasty, the base was the thinner style (easier to eat with fork and knife) but the crusts were nice and puffy. My favorites were the margherita and the Napoli but all 4 were well liked by all. The service for the food and drink was satisfactory, they took some time to come back to take our food orders after a few rounds of drinks but that was fine as we clearly needed the time. However at the end of the meal when we wanted to leave, it took about 4 tries to finally get someone to come over with the card reader and some of us were getting really antsy. We also had to ask multiple times to get a few water pitchers near the end of the meal. The total bill came out to about 195€ which seemed normal for a night out in the center of Paris. The restaurant is located in a nice, bustling area that is busy even on weeknights. Conveniently accessible from metro stops Sentier and Châtelet. The tables are small but typical of Paris, and I'm sure it would be a great place to people watch in nice weather. The tables near the door get a lot of draught from the door opening and closing all the time (and a not insignificant amount of secondhand smoke) so if that bothers you I would recommend seating farther in. American Express accepted.
