10 stars!! Can't say enough good things about this restaurant. The fact that there is only once…read moreentree serve (there isn't even a menu for food) means that they're doing something right. The main dish here which is steak and fries with a special sauce is cooked to perfection on all accounts and leaves you wanting more and more! Once you sit down you're asked how you want your meat cooked. Soon enough a starter salad arrives which is a perfect butter lettuce in a french mustard dressing. Then your main dish arrives which is the steak and fries - your first portion ;) Then you get your SECOND portion! They serve the meal in two servings so that your food stays warm and each bite is warm and delicious. You'll be sad when the meal is over. The house wine is great and so are all the bottles they serve but the drinks and dessert menu is in French so you may have to guess! There is a menu with various options for the dessert which is handed to you after dinner. The profiteroles are great but the ice cream macaron tower dessert is just perfect - this time we had the chocolate and nut one which was so yummy even though we were full we ate the whole thing!! This location also takes reservations which is a plus if you need it :)

A unique experience!…read more We arrived 15 minutes before they opened and were the 6 people in line. At opening time the line stretched down the street and was about 35-50 people total. They definitely have it down! There was a line of waitresses (only women waiters work there) they were allocated per group in line and walked you to your seat. There is no menu - everyone gets the same thing your only choice is what you get to drink and if you want your steak rare, medium, or well-done. When the plate of food came out, my husband and I thought it was a small portion and then realized they they give you another helping after you finish the first one. The sauce is very unique and flavorful but, I am not sure I would agree on the food being worth the price. It was a unique place to experience while on vacation but, I won't go out of your way to go there.

While visiting my company's office in Geneva, the manager selected this place for a team dinner…read more Since he's from Lyon originally, he wanted to share that the place was having a special "game week" menu featuring traditional foods from the area. Since I'm always "game" for a new experience, I was happy to participate! I was a little nervous because when we arrived they had just opened and there was nobody there. However, I soon relaxed and felt right at home, because service was very friendly and encouraging, but with no pressure to try the game menu. I decided to be a little bold and went for the venison medallions. I even tried some of my colleague's wild boar pate, which was good. I started with a pumpkin chestnut soup which I really enjoyed. My venison was lovely as were the accompanying sides. There was a wide variety of side dishes in small portions and I appreciated that. I paired everything with a nice local beer and it was a very nice experience. The dessert menu is extensive and I went with an old standby, a chocolate mousse. It was absolutely incredible. Everything was fresh and delicious, service was outstanding and I could understand that by the time we left, there wasn't an empty seat in the place. Definitely recommend the experience here. It's more than just the food!

We were really too full for dessert, but had to order when we saw them at a neighboring table. I especially loved the Floating Island! It's the first time I've had one in many years.

My fiancee and I were looking for places to eat that were not crazy expensive. Switzerland, as…read moremost of you know, is one of the most expensive countries in Europe, if not the most expensive. I was not too hungry, but he was super hungry. I looked up a few places and this place popped up. It was within walking distance of our hotel so we gave it a shot. We walked in and the guy asked if we had a reservation, to which we said no. I thought he would say he was out of room, but he offered us the communal table. There was another middle-aged couple sitting at the end. They kept looking over at us; it was a little creepy. The menu was all in French. And since neither of us can speak, let alone read French, we used Google translate to figure out what some of the words were. The server was able to explain to us what everything was and we were able to place our order. My fiancee got a meal-sized salad. And it was really big. We both thought it was going to be small, but he said it was filling, and probably the best Cesar salad he ever had. I ordered the small beef tartare, which is 180grams. I also expected it to be small. But I was so wrong. It's the size of a hockey puck and a little thicker than one, and it comes with a side of roasted potatoes, a small salad, and bread to spread the tartare on. By the end of meal, I was so stuffed. I am really glad we found this place.

The best restaurant in France that I randomly found on Yelp! A true 5 stars in food, service, and…read morevalue. Since this place only had 3 French reviews, I wanted to write a comprehensive English one for non-French speakers so they can also enjoy this gem. Located in Saint-Julien-en-Genevois by the France/Switzerland border on the France side, La Table a Raclette specializes in fondues. Their options include raclette, reblonchonade, savoie, suisse, etc. For non dairy options, there are many meat items like hamburger, tartare, steak, salmon and escargot. Prices are also very reasonable (much cheaper than Geneva less than 15 minutes away). Our total was less than 50 euros despite ordering way too much food and drinks: ***decent wine list. We got local savoie wine and champagne for only 3-4 euros per glass! ***fondue savoie - I chose this one since it does not require a minimum of 2 people. A generous amount of 3 cheeses (comte, beaufort, gruyere), 7 huge fingerling potatoes, and a large basket of baguette pieces. Needless and sad to say, I only ate a third of my food. If you do not have a large appetite, this fondue is enough for 2 to eat. ***steak (entrecôte on the menu) with French fries, garlic green beans - there are 2 size options (300g, 500g). I think the 300g one is equivalent to about 10oz which I personally find enough to eat. Their medium rare is a true steakhouse medium rare with pink in the middle ***like typical French restaurants, you start with a basket of sliced baguette ***we also had small salads which were very necessary amongst the heap of bread, potatoes, cheese and meats All of our servers were very friendly but we only spoke French to them so I am not sure about their English speaking abilities. If you do not have dietary restrictions or many questions, knowing minimal French should be fine to order a great meal though. The restaurant itself is a quaint chalet style with a great terrace. Tldr; I HIGHLY recommend stopping by this gem on the border!
