Onion soup, one of the daily 3 course menu starters
Fabiha H.

Very kind older man appears to run the place and served us. When the steak was difficult to cut, he noticed and brought us a new knife. We didn't say anything about it being too rare, but he noticed we weren't eating much of it, asked us about it, and grilled if more. Very nice of him and very good service here throughout the whole meal, so 5 stars for that. We got the 3 course meal for 17.50 euro and it was well worth it!! We got onion soup for appetizers (with bread and cheese, very yummy) and pepper steak and duck for entrees. The roasted potatoes, green beans, and zucchini that came with were so delicious. Then we got dessert: creme brûlée and chocolate mousse. We also asked for tap water in English and he understand. They speak a little bit of English and seemed to speak Spanish well. Overall it was a nice place to stop for a long lunch at much cheaper than you would get elsewhere in Paris thanks to the daily menu.

Great staff and great atmosphere, even if it's a bit pricey. Fondue was good. I loved the decor of the place as much as I loved the food.

Lovely little fondue restaurant Not far from the Pompidou. We emailed our request for a reservation…read moreweeks in advance. Apparently, on a Sunday evening with rain in the area the reservation was unnecessary. When we made the reservation, we were told we could only eat on the main floor. Because the restaurant was not busy we asked if they had space for us in the basement. They did. The basement is essentially a cave under the restaurant with seating for about 20. It makes for a more intimate romantic and interesting environment. We ordered The salad with goat cheese and cucumbers, which was delicious. The goat cheese medallions were essentially half inch discs. For the fondue we ordered the Savoyed which was delicious. The service was quick, very friendly, and the fondue was beyond expectations. We wanted to try the cheeseboard, but decided discretion was the better part of valor. They do a good job of knowing how much fondue you can eat since we finished our pot and we're both very happy with no leftovers. We really like this restaurant, and the owner is very attentive, and a very happy person. The food is delicious and the ambience cannot be beat. If you are looking for a romantic meal, this should be at the top of your list.

I'm convinced it's one of the best choices on the menu. Later I met locals who had their birthdays there and I realized it is a very special place for locals and tourists alike. In a sweet area with lots of cool vintage shopping spots and a dance school! What a delicious dream.

He was lively, solicitous and he made the whole meal fun. Nothing was beyond him; he gave us whatever we wanted. We started a bottle of champagne and when I said I loved Kir royales, he brought over a whole bottle of cassis and let us make them ourselves (and didn't even charge us for the liquor). We had the raclette of mixte meat (beef, chicken, lamb chops and duck breast), and a fondue bourguignon (also with mixte meats). Both were good choices and the raclette also came with vegetables. Fun for the kids to cook on the hot rocks and the fondue; the hot rocks came loaded with fresh herbes and seasonings, so when you added the meat, it seared in the seasonings. Of course, the lamb chops and the duck were my favorites, but the chicken and beef were good too. The beef was particularly tender. We had so much fun cooking and eating, and we were quite full when we finished; we needed to walk some of this off. We wished we had more time to come Back! We walked dinner off a bit so we could have dessert elsewhere.--gelato and treats. But Heureux was amazing for dinner!

They only accept cash that day due to credit card system down. Fortunately we bring enough cash to enjoy this location. This is Fondue restaurant. But we are trying something different. We have the oil fry work and stone grilled for meat. We got the three meat special- chicken, duck and beef. It accompanied the veggies - bell pepper, tomato, onion, mushroom and cucumber. Those veggies is good for the stone grill. We also got the meat grilled on the preheat stone. The spice on it make it nice including the olive oil. The fried oil section also great. We got all three different meat for the experience. The restaurant owner is very welcoming. Love his hospitality. We love the food and experience.

The raclette came exactly as it should in the French Alps: generous slices of raclette cheese melted fresh over boiled potatoes, accompanied by a beautiful selection of cured meats (ham, prosciutto, and saucisson), cornichons, pearl onions, and a simple green salad with a light vinaigrette. The fondue was served in a traditional pot with cubes of rustic bread for dipping. Here's a polished review: If you're looking for an authentic taste of the French Alps in Paris, Les Fondus de La Raclette is a gem. We ordered the Savoyard Fondue and the Plain Savoie Raclette, and both were outstanding. The fondue was rich, silky, and deeply flavorful, with the perfect balance of Alpine cheeses. Paired with crusty bread, every bite was comforting and indulgent. The raclette was the highlight of the meal. Thick slices of melted Savoie cheese were generously scraped over warm potatoes and served with an assortment of high-quality cured meats, cornichons, pearl onions, and a fresh green salad. The combination of creamy cheese, savory charcuterie, tangy pickles, and crisp vegetables was simple yet absolutely delicious, just as traditional raclette should be. Beyond the food, the experience was made even better by the warm hospitality. The owner personally welcomed us, making us feel like valued guests from the moment we arrived. Our server was friendly, attentive, and took the time to explain the dishes and ensure everything was perfect. The restaurant itself is cozy and charming, with warm wood interiors, rustic Alpine décor, and an inviting atmosphere that transports you straight to a mountain chalet in the French Alps. Despite being in the heart of Paris, it feels intimate, authentic, and wonderfully unpretentious. A memorable meal with exceptional food, genuine hospitality, and an atmosphere that makes you want to linger over another glass of wine and one more bite of melted cheese. I would happily return the next time I'm in Paris.

They do have wonderful fondues but while you are here, you have to get the raclette, which features a giant wheel of cheese heated under your personal raclette heater. Your waiter will teach you how to do it. I ordered the "small" green salad which was actually huge. The raclette came with steamed potatoes and baguettes (both unlimited), and nicely varied charcuterie (ha ha, not unlimited). There isn't much ambience -- I mean it's pleasant but it's not romantic or anything and the surfaces are hard making the place noisy. But the atmosphere is so high-spirited and you can tell everyone wants to be there. These days in Paris you have to make a reservation for everything. Best accidental discovery ever!…read more We were wandering the streets of Paris on our last night looking for a restaurant for one last memorable meal. On a whim we came in here because we saw that they served fondue and we thought that would be a good idea for supper. The restaurant name translates into "Fortunate like Alexander" in English. Did that ever turn out to be a fantastic decision. Read on to hear why. The restaurant's owner has to be one of the kindest, charismatic people that I have ever met. He welcomed us with open arms and we got to chat with him quite a bit and learn more about him. He also was very kind to us and gave us many free drinks just because he was a very generous person. This was completely unexpected and we were really grateful for this. In addition to a welcoming owner the atmosphere here in general was just relaxing and inviting. We got talking to the people at the table next to us and it turns out that they were regulars who lived in the neighbourhood and came here frequently because they had befriended the own. Meanwhile two buskers came by who played some mellow guitar music to add to the ambiance. Now I can finally talk about the food. We ordered a simple cheese fondue and it was wildly delicious. It came out very quickly and we enjoyed every mouthful. We were given plenty of bread to soak it all up and there was also a salad included so we could get some vegetables. Honestly my experience was so good here that I was almost sad to leave the restaurant at the end of the night. We wanted a memorable, final meal in Paris and boy did we ever get it. After eating here I feel fortunate like Alexander.
