Wow, this place has quite the reputation! There were a mob of people outside, just hanging out and eating their shawarma sandwiches on the sidewalk. We opted to dine in. Place was packed! Not a fancy place and it was a little warm inside, but service is friendly and fast. My friend and I shared a plate of spreads/falafel with pita bread....absolutely delicious!!! We also ordered their shawarma sandwich, which we were surprisingly disappointed with. We were expecting lamb shawarma, but apparently, it was a turkey and lamb mixed. One of our favorite meals in Paris! Between four of us, we shared two shawarmas, one lamb, and one mixed meat, a starter that came with hummus and 6 falafels, a beer and two juices. All of this for just 47 euro. The shawarmas were incredible! Jam-packed with meat, mixed veggies, and sauce. The pita pocket is sooooo soft. Ask for their hot sauce too. It goes great with their shawarmas. The hummus was delicious and I noticed they put olive oil on it. I haven't really seen that done much in the states but it was good! The falafels were smaller than I'm used to and though they weren't the best I've ever had, they were certainly delicious. Service was great, given how busy they were. Wonderful shawarma! Came here after a long day at the Louvre. I didn't want to wait long and I needed something other than a croissant or crepe. It's less than a 10 min metro ride to the St. Paul station and about a 3-5 minute walk to the actual restaurant. Fair prices: the vegetarian falafel is €5 and I paid €9 for the shawarma. Those were the only two options since they were closing soon (I arrived a little after 3 pm) for Shabbat. Most reviews say there's always a long line-- not the case for when I went. Serve was quick and men serving/cooking were friendly. If you don't speak a lick of French (like myself) that's fine. Their English was better than most and they were patient. (I know, I came to France without knowing French. I'm the idiot.) As for the food? Incredible. All the other reviews were on point. I chose to get mine spicy. Winding streets of Paris can be so confusing, especially when you're used to straight grids. Each corner we turned, I looked for the tell-tale sign of a line that would probably be the line to L'as Du Fallafel. I love Le Marais, but man are these streets tricky. We found the line for the take out window, I had no idea what to order and was panicked as the line moved pretty quickly. My PIC said the fallafel special sandwich is the way to go. A huge pita full of fresh fallafel, roasted eggplant and salad, this sandwich hit the spot. I am normally not a huge fan of eggplant but found this very tasty and a perfect addition in the sandwich. Airline food sux, so a delicious sandwich was a perfect start to our trip. Next time I visit, I would try the Merguez or lamb schawarma. My sleep-deprived jet-lagged self noted that folks were also lining up to sit inside, might be the way to go next time. But I did enjoy eating my sandwich on the go, people watching and enjoying the sights and sounds of Paris. No Lenny Kravitz sighting. read more

Maybe my taste has been altered but I really love Felfel's falafel in Denver. Yes this is a tourist trap but yes the food is worth it. We also got the combo mix and that was delicious as well. If you're a spicy lover, get the hot sauce on it, it's not that spicy at all and I wished I had asked for more. Fries are also very delicious as well with some mayo and hot sauce as well. I was in Paris for work and was staying in the 4th arrondissement. After a quick google search about the neighborhood, I found it was once the city's Jewish quarter and very trendy! My colleague and I did a quick yelp search of the food around and saw this place! After a short 10 minute walk (it was around 10 pm, deserted streets but felt safe), we found the place! There was a crowd of about 25 people outside + a packed inside restaurant. We ordered the fries, the falafel (what they are known for) and the shawarma. Overall: Fries - MASSIVE portion, so share Falafel- super tasty. Loved that they were smaller balls instead of the massive ones you see here in the states. Great flavor! Shawarma - good! Wasn't dry. I haven't had a good falafel since I lived in NYC. I was so happy to find this restaurant. I took the metro from my hotel and found it easily. The neighborhood is charming and feels safe. I sat at a table inside. There was a long line for togo orders. The guys working there are so nice, helpful and cute lol. I ordered the falafel plate, which comes with 8 or so falafels , hummus, cavalry, cucumber salad , pita bread and sauce. I was only able to eat about half of my food as it was a big portion. Best thing I ever ate in Paris. I would book a trip back there just to eat here one more time. The waits were long at times but it was worth it. There's a restaurant located directly across from it that seems to sell the same things but there were absolutely no customers there. I felt bad for them but not bad enough to try it out. Incredible. We went to this delicious falafel spot for a late lunch and it was one of our top meals the entire trip. Since we arrived around 2pm the line wasn't too long and they brought us hot falafel bites to snack on while we waited. We were extra excited about that since it was very cold outside. They also did a great job of moving the line along so the front 2-3 parties could wait inside in the heat. Once seated, the service was quick and efficient. Within only a few minutes of ordering our meal arrived. We each had a falafel wrap and split a bowl of fries and a carrot juice. The sauces they put in the table were so so good. I've been coming here for over ten years every time I'm in Paris. It's always been crazy with the line and the harried staff but the falafel was so good it was worth it. Unfortunately, in the last couple years they seem to have started using a machine to make the falafel instead of by hand and it tastes completely different - dense and sticky versus what used to be an amazing fluffy falafel. We had heard about the long lines, but there are now two locations just down the alley from one another to help alleviate foot traffic. We didn't have to wait in line at all! We took our falafel to-go as we walked around the streets of Le Marais. We all got the falafel special and it was AMAZING. They stuff the pita with so much fresh cucumber, cabbage, falafel, and eggplant. The eggplant was a little unexpected, but it was so tasty. They have a spicy sauce too...it's not too hot so if you like a little spice you can definitely handle it. Overall we loved grabbing dinner here. It seems to be a local favorite, and I can see why. I heard this place serves great falafels but we honestly don't like falafels. We've gone to places in California where our friends recommend falafels and it's always just overly fried and dried. All fantastic! The mint lemonade was fresh and almost tasted like a mint mojito. AMAZING! Many people recommended this place and lines are usually very long but we got lucky! Line was about 10-15 people deep and went by quickly. They take your order while in line--if you have euros you can pay the person immediately, and if you have a card you can pay inside. You can also actually eat inside if you would like, although I would recommend taking to go and eating somewhere nearby OR walking to the Seine which is about 15 min walk away. We did this but I would recommend not as the food for a little cold. We got the falafel and the chicken shawarma wraps and both were great. The wraps comes with two types of cabbages, cucumbers, spicy sauce (if you want), and yummy eggplant (and maybe more I'm forgetting)!! The man taking our order was so helpful and answered my many questions so always appreciated :) Cost was 8 euros for each so 16 euros total, a steal for Paris!! The Marais is the storied Jewish section of Paris, which is great simply based on the fact that Paris is arguably the greatest walk around city in the world and it's all awesome. Walk and walk then walk some more. Get hungry, eat, then keep walking. The bread, cheese, foie gras, sitting at a cafe or bistro, steak frites, the whole thing is the best. This place is considered the best falafel joint in Paris, and I don't really know why. It's good, it's fine, their falafel is good, their pita bread is a bit spongy for my taste, not sure how good or bad the competing falafel spots on the street are, but you do not need to make a special trip to this place. If you are on that street maybe have one, but that's about it. read more

It had just the right about of flavor and balance of textures. The cabbage/slaw was perfectly marinated: slightly sour but still very crunchy. The whole pita went well together. We ordered the Fallafel special, the chicken pita, and the new special. They were all good! Honestly you can't go wrong here... but if you want to order one thing, I would say go for the Fallafel special pita You can order takeout from the stand as well as eating in (2€ more than taking out).
