    Badly cut cuticle
    Angela L.

I stopped by around 5pm and Stars Nail Shop. It was really nice that they can squeeze me in for a mani and pedi. I came in and it didn't look super clean but the lady was nice and attentive. I told her that I called ahead of time for a mani and pedi and she quickly set up the foot soak for me. They used a disposable bag to keep clean which I liked. The water was hot and the jets were perfect. The chair provided massage controller so that was great. I actually changed my mind with regular nail polish and chose to go with gel so my mani and pedi can last longer. The pedicure was good and quick. I saw her take out a tray of tools in the sanitizing box. She scrubbed my feet with a pumice rock and I hope it was brand new but I didn't see. The best part was the foot and leg massage. I would go back for pedicure. For my manicure, I told the lady that my nails were on the thinner side and she said she can add a layer of foundation to help strengthen my nails. I agreed to do it but she never mention how much it cost. She put 2 layers of the gel foundation and then filed it down. She was very rough when it came to cutting my cuticles and the skin around my fingers. My right hand pointer finger was red and i felt a little bit of pain but it was bearable. I chose this chocolate brown color and there's a tiny bit of dust or something on 2 of my nails but it's okay, it's not too noticeable. My bill came out to be a total of $85. I would only come back for a pedicure if I really needed a place to go to. Not sure about the cuticle cutting because it was really fast and rough. I feel that the place can be a little more clean and updated. Prices should be more clear if they're adding different services and products on. Overall, it's a 2.5- 3 star establishment to me.

I was excited to do my nails as I was refer here by my friend. Helen did my nails. I wants a nude almond shape acrylic nails and she did an okay job. Base on the review I had high hopes for my nails but I think she was having a bad day or something. She didn't push my cuticle. She just file my cuticles and nails. when she was filing my nail it accidentally filed my skin... it causes my skin to bleed. She didn't filled the edge closely with acrylic but she was nice and tried her best. Due to covid I'm letting some of the things slide but this shouldn't happen. I don't do my nails often .... She didn't even give my hands a massage. She was kinda rushing my nails but there was no customer. I liked my nails but my cuticle hurts ... you can tell on the pictures. My overall nails looks good but if you look at it closely there are definitely stops she missed and can do better.

Full Set of UV Gel Nails - Pink French Ombré
    Cristina G.

Today was first time visiting Stars Nail Shop and I decided to go big or go home. I took a big leap of faith here by requesting a full UV gel set with a French ombré look from someone who had never worked on my nails before. Gutsy move by me, but it definitely was worth it! I made a same-day appointment with Winnie, as recommended in many of the reviews on here. When I showed up a half hour early, she graciously took me before my appointment time. She looked at one "inspiration" photo of what I was looking for and began working on my nails immediately. She gave me the exact shape, length, and design that I was looking for which pleasantly surprised me. I really am so impressed with how these turned out. In total, it took about 90 minutes which isn't bad for a brand new set. The salon itself is a no-frills, mom and pop type of place but don't underestimate their work. The staff also wear masks, and there are plastic drapes placed at the mani stations between the customer and nail tech. The cherry on top was the price. I paid $60 for nails that other salons would easily charge $85+ for. I can't wait to come back for my next appointment and see what Winnie can create for me.

    We got the $20 pedicure.

Excellent customer service and positive attitudes, especially if you like to chat in Cantonese/Taishanese. Large, clean nail salon with 2-3 trained professionals offering manicures, pedicures, facials, and waxing. Come around 3pm on a weekday if you don't want to wait, otherwise it gets a bit busy. Good prices too. $20 for a pedicure in a comfortable massage chair (includes the washing, cleaning, massaging briefly, and painting the toes). It got busy pretty fast, expect to wait as needed. Be sure to tip generously. Overall, very nice experience.

Went there on a Friday morning and had to wait 20min. Their phone wasn't working so I was a walk-in. I did a regular pedi (brought my own nail polish) and a UV builder gel mani with gel color (on the natural nail, no nail tips). Total was 68$ and gave $25 in total for tips because I loved their service and work. They are not like the other nail polish places that are unwelcoming. A little smile and cheer goes a long way and they gave me more than that. I'm not sure who did my nails but I'm guessing she was the lady in charge. No complaints on how my nails turned out. And will definitely come back for a full.

Day 2 and my nail is cracked!!! Garbage job!
    Jaclyn C.

I'm always up to trying new places that have these crazy nail designs that are trending, so this place seemed to have hundreds to choose from! My interested was peaked, so I walked in and decided to try it and tack on a pedicure too just to clean them up. The overall feel of the place is your average nail salon vibe- nothing to truly separate it from the rest; nothing memorable really stood out. The TV's were off and all I heard was the traffic outsideThe only thing that did stick out, was how COLD air was!! I understand I walked in as soon as it opened, but put on a space heater at least! As I sat in the pedicure chair with my down coat on, I wasn't even sure if my girl put soap in the water- it looked clear to me. She scrubbed the bottom of my feet with something that looked like SoftSoap that you'd use for your hands. Needless to say, the pedicure was underwhelming. Don't be fooled by the nail designs they've posted!!! I showed the girl an exact picture she posted months ago, and it came out nowhere close to what I asked. $70 in the hole, and not even 48 hours later, my two thumb nails cracked!! What a waste of time and money!!! RUN!!!

    $20 (Nov 2019)

I got a gel manicure here for $20 (circa 11/2019). I thought the price was very reasonable, compared to other nail salons around Brooklyn/Manhattan. The lady who did my nails was efficient.I went on a Monday afternoon. I took one star off because some of their tools didn't seem the cleanest, or didn't look clean. Also usually after soaking, filing, and cutting cuticles they will wipe your hands down with a warm towel. But she told we to walk over to the sink to wash my hands. I thought that was strange and I would prefer if I didn't have to move around (I'm not a diva, please believe me). I did a glitter nail on my ring fingers. She did two coats of the glitter polish then one top coat. I can still feel the grit from the glitter polish. Wished she could've done one more coat so the nail is smooth.

Got my nails done here! It was such a reasonable price for nail art like this! $60 and they were very patient and sweet. It took 2 hours to finish! It's been almost 3 weeks no lifting!

    Beautiful green gel manicure.

This place is my go-to nail salon. I usually get a gel manicure. Pre-Covid price was $20, I went today and it was $25 -- which is still an absolute bargain for the service, especially nowadays. The service is very consistent, I'm always confident that I'm going to leave with a fresh set that'll last at least 3 weeks. Love love love this place & definitely recommend.

Fast but efficient service. I got a beautiful and thorough pedi. The you g lady was very gentle. My pink gel with tips and stones is gorgeous! My first visit here but I see myself becoming a regular. I added a photo, but its just lovelier in person. They're very clean and natural looking.

My nail broke within one week!
    Jeniffer R.

I walked in on a Saturday and it was fairly busy but they took me in fast. They had a promo for $29.95 for a gel mani and regular pedicure and decided to try it. Pedicure was perfect, but the gel mani started to come off after just a week. I don't think I'll be coming back.

    Sloppy and rushed polish

This is my second visit to this shop and will be my last. The first time I left happier, although the gel did not last the expected 2 weeks. Both times I paid for 3 manicures and pedicures. This time I got acrylic with gel. The nail polish was done in a rush and not all over my nail. I pointed it out to the tech, who started arguing with me that it's my skin. It was not my skin. I believe she thought I wasn't going to tip her , which is why her demeanor changed once I paid and she started painting. I usually tip at least $15 when I get my own nails done, let alone when I'm treating family members. She did a horrible job with the polish. I didn't even let the nails dry, they look horrible and she shorted herself her tip due to her nasty attitude. They also do NOT wash the tubs out between pedicures. Highly unsanitary and gross!

    Jolene C.

I did my nails today it is almost closing but they say it was ok very satisfied with my nails and the service was also excellent I will come back again

Decided to try a new color that they just got in.

New business management and new business name: Magnolia Nail Spa 4 The inside of the shop is still the same as old business Le Charme but it's not the same. Service and quality isn't the same under their old manager Ryan. I personally felt like it was a trap that they continue to use the LeCharme name and website when they had clearly changed. I was confused when I arrived and saw the name change but still gave them a chance as I had booked an appointment via Le Charme website and only had that day to get my nails done before going to a wedding on the West Coast. Also, even though I had an Spa Pedicure appointment for 10AM (opening time) I still had to wait. Other customers came in (either appt or walk in) and were seen first... they also had to call for more Nail technicians to come. I sat at the manicure station flipping through gel color templates waiting for Nail tech to see me. I already choose but waiting, at one point they had forgotten me until someone asked me what I wanted and I had to repeat myself again. I picked a spa pedicure treatment and selected gel as I heard gel last longer. It was my first time getting gel but I wanted to look my best for the wedding I'll be attending. I asked for paraffin wax for my feet and callus treatment. They were confused and said paraffin is already included in the spa package (I remember it is usually for heel only and I wanted for the entire feet) but they insisted it was included and for the entire feet, so I said okay and let them do their thing. Service was decent but my nail tech had rushed and missed a few spot. She didn't apply the polish carefully and throughly. It was like coloring your hair, they always leave a gap from the hairline so you can return for touchup. In my pic, you can see my toes didn't look as nice and pic was taken about 1.5-2hrs later (after appointment, I had quick lunch and went straight home). While I did enjoy the spa pedicure, because I wanted to pamper my feet, she was abit rough at times and rushed it. And no, she didn't apply paraffin wax to the entire feet; just the heel. I was willing to pay extra but they didn't do that. If you don't know, paraffin wax help rehydrate and trap in moisture and it's particularly effective for those who often get calluses to help in removing dead skin, and healing dry patches. It acts like a form of heat therapy and can help increase blood flow, relax muscles, and decrease joint stiffness. It can also minimize spasms and inflammation as well as treat sprains. When it was time to pay, I thought I would have to shell out more for everything as I didn't know what the actual cost would be. I wanted Spa Pedicure package with Gel Color. Callus Treatment $10, Gel pedicure $55 & Spa Pedicure $45. I had assumed they would charge abit extra for the Gel coloring ontop of the Spa Pedicure package. After I paid and walked out (no receipt was given to me and I had hope to take a pic of the bill but the total was present quickly to me and was out of my view) and walked down the street, the owner lady came out chasing me saying I needed to pay more. I follow back and she said something else was charged to me.. again wasn't able to see the bill and had to trust her word and paid more. I finally left and disappointed later on when I examined my feet at home. I think its time to find a new Nail Salon.

I was on a search for a new place not too far away, but that wasn't overly expensive. This was the fourth place I called, and it was cheaper than the previous two, so I decided to to come here. Was immediately greeted and told I could sit on the bench, shortly thereafter I was told I could have a seat. I was under the belief I was next, but then a lady got in the seat next to me and she was taken care of. I was upset about this because seemingly I was there first. Finally after about ten minutes a new lady comes over. The lady was excellent, she actually took her time (unlike Tulip on 72nd, where I had gone previously). I was charged $30 bucks and was very pleased with the service here. FYI-- Everything appeared to be very neat and in great order I saw every employee thoroughly clean their station once completed with each client They accept card payment, but the tip must be in cash You must sign a waiver of liability prior to any service All the staffers here appear to be very friendly

First, we were GIVEN basic pedicures, not an option to choose a spa pedicure and asked to select a scent like most places. But the guest next to me was given an option. The guy attempted to be very meticulous on painting my toes, but ultimately, he took forever for a barely decent job and he didn't paint all of my pinky toe nails, and I was left with most of the paraffin wax still on my shoes and feet. I had to take one of the tools and remove the excess lotipn from nail bed and under the nails to show him what he missed! They did such a bad job that they didn't charge me for my pedi. We went elsewhere for nails. They had several clientele that seemed to be regulars so it seems as they cater more towards appointments than walk-ins. Won't be back there.

I called and asked for Jason for an appointment but was told his schedule is full for the whole week. Ok, no problem. I said I'll take anyone else who can do simple nail art. Yes, they said! Come on in. I came at 4 PM on a Wednesday. There were only 2 other people in the salon and it was very quiet. As soon as I sat down, I asked the manicurist if she could do the design I showed her a picture of (French tips with opal white instead of plain white). She said no problem and took a photo of my photo with her own phone and sent it to someone. She removed my powder gel fine and shaped my nails as I requested. Then comes time for the painting! I asked for powder gel and asked if the French tips would be UV gel, she said yes. Then she leaves and I'm greeted by another manicurist. I ask her if she is comfortable with the design I show her a picture, she said yes no problem. I say great! She begins using white to draw my French and I ask if she has Pearl white instead of regular white like the picture shows. She said she would do the pearl afterwards. When it comes time for the pearl white, she uses a multicolored glittery color that has no resemblance to the photo I showed. It is seemingly yellow from the angle I was looking at it. Eek! She asked if I liked it and I said it's not like the photo at all, that it's rainbow not pearly white. She told me they don't have the pearly white color. I said to keep the white then, although I definately would have asked for baby pink tips if I knew pearly white wasn't an option. I'm not sure why they didn't tell me they don't have pearly white as an option so I could request another design. I was so frustrated that I showed the photo to 2 people and they both said they could do the design no problem. I walked out with a French manicure that I did not like the look of and was so unhappy. It has been 3 days and now 4 of my nails have chipped on the white tips (just as other reviewers have said). I am shocked and honestly just frustrated I have to spend another $50 somewhere else to replace the brand new manicure I have now.

I opted to go for their special Spa Pedicure with regular manicure. I am happy with both services. Lilly gives a really good pedi. The spa pedicure was nice. She wrapped my legs in a clay mask and covered with warm towels and Saran Wrap to set while she worked on my feet. She gave a nice 15mins leg massage and showed me the timer she set so I would be sure it's 15mins. She did well in removing those pesky little bits of nail that always dig into the side of the big toe... lol I don't know how else to explain it. But Lilly did really good there! The manicure was as expected. She did well and didn't cut me when removing my cuticles. Downside: they charge $1 for quick dry so I had to pay $2 (one for toes one for hands..) which is not a deal breaker for me but I feel like it should just be standard to apply one coat of quick dry to all polish.. but maybe I'm just spoiled cause my usual place includes it with service. They gave me a gift which I thought was sweet and thoughtful. It was a green tea lotion. Not sure if this was only for Xmas or just something they give with Spa pedi. I saw a flyer for "Forever charmed by V" which is a pop up shop that they have where you can get "forever jewelry" while you wait for your nails to dry. I hope I catch that vendor next time they are there. Overall I would come back here again and I would ask for Lilly again. Thank you Lilly!
