I randomly came across Silver Nails on a Saturday afternoon while wandering around the area. I had planned to go to another nail salon I found on Yelp, but couldn't find it--and honestly, I'm so glad I didn't! Walking into Silver Nails turned out to be the best decision. The vibe is calm and relaxing, and the salon is super clean and welcoming. I wanted a French gel manicure but needed a gel removal first. One of the ladies started removing my gel, but she had to go to lunch, so she passed me over to David. David was fantastic! He was super gentle and made sure not to cut too much of my cuticles. When it came time for the French tips, David really took his time to make sure the lines were just how I wanted them. They turned out perfect. It's been three weeks, and my French tips are still going strong! No chips, no peeling, nothing. I've honestly never had my nails last this long without a single issue. I came here twice to get my nails done. First time, I got gel acrylics done by a older lady who did a decent job. While it was applied slightly thicker, it was smooth and there was no lifting. I loved how my nails turned out but my nail technician was rough on one of my cuticles and it started bleeding halfway through the process. Total of this visit excluding tips was $50. For the second time, I went in for a soak off and regular manicure. A nail tech named Joy helped me soak off my nails and she was very nice and patient. I got a regular French manicure done that was uneven and sloppy. Total of this visit excluding tips was $21. Overall, an okay nail place but I don't think I will be returning soon. There are other nail salons in the neighborhood that could provide better experiences. read more

I am DONE with this place! They have become super lazy it's not even funny! Ive been coming here for years and I never had a problem until these last couple of years, any time I called it's always, next time. if you ask for dip powder manicure, they always say "next time", you ask for a new set, they say "next time". They're always in a rush and don't pay attention to detail the way they used to, they want you IN and OUT very fast. Please do not go here, especially for powder gel! Sure, they're cheaper than other places ($30) but so is the quality/ service. I have gone here in the past out of convenience of the location. Each time I have went (including this last time), I would wait and once I was seated, the employee would leave me waiting in the seat and go take someone else's gel polish off or proceed to take care of another customer (which is totally rude and not a good practice of customer service whatsoever). Anyway I gave this place a break for a long time, however decided to give them another shot two weeks ago.. WORST MISTAKE EVER! let me tell you about my experience In the photos, you will see that I got powder gel (which is supposed to last close to a month). These photos were only a week later! I went back to the salon and told them that this was only a week later and shouldn't be.. so they fixed the two nails. (Mind you I told the woman the color # and she applied the wrong color and insisted I gave her the # she applied- again, rude when I know for a fact i gave her the right # so i sat in the seat for an hour to fix 2 nails after a long day of work).. Well, how about If I told you the next day after getting this fixed, 2 other nails came off... & yet another one shortly after. At that point I refused to go back and now it is for good! I actually paid attention to how they were applying the powder gel and had a feeling that they weren't giving it enough time to dry in between coats and felt rather rushed. I have never experienced this before in any other salon ive been to. So please do not give this place your business nor time.. Sometimes they run a little off schedule but they are usually fairly good about time if you have an appointment. Their spa pedicure is wonderful and includes a 10 minute foot massage. I often add 10 minutes which is great! My favorite things about this place are the friendly staff and the fact that they don't nickel and dime you for every little thing. The old lady who did my nails was speeding through the process. And wasn't taking her time it felt like as if she wanted to just finish quickly. Was quite rough on my hands. And when it came to filing, she just quickly did it without even taking her time. Did acrylic tips, told her I wanted them short because I work work kindergarten and second grade students and she tells me "short will be nothing" seriously just do what I ask I am paying for this. I would say, stay away! I went in to get an acrylic filling and decided to get a whole new set of nails because the other ones needed to be replaced. Each nail popped off pretty easily, but one wasn't budging. I told the woman not to take that one off because it was holding on for dear life. She didn't listen to me, continued to try even though i was crying (in pain) for her to stop. She didn't stop till i screamed because she tore my real nail right open. She put medicine on It and i cried because I was in so much pain. So much for getting a relaxing manicure after a rough day teaching middle school kids. I went into the nail salon with 10 nails, left with 9. And she was STILL charging me $37. I tried arguing over the price and she lowered It to $35, and eventually to $30. I'm not the type to "not pay," even when unhappy. But this place is so money hungry, they didn't even offer a gift card, or anything free for a next visit. Not that i would ever go again, but It was shocking to me that they wouldn't try to keep a loyal customer. They rush every job, it's never a relaxing experience at all. Yeah, uh I'm never come back. All I did was manicure but they seemed to be understaff and rushing. I wanted some design for fun but she did something basic which I'm fine with, but it was so sloppy! The colors are all uneven, my nail aren't even fully covered, the lines are all out of bound. Girls, there are so many other nail salons in this neighborhood, do yourself a favor and go somewhere more relaxing if you're going to treat yourself. I've been going to this nail Salon for over 2 years the owner May is very nice but if she tells u a price one week and u go back 2 weeks later she changes the price but doesn't tell u I till job is done .., very poor business woman I will never step foot in her salon again. Her nail polish chips off every time I go and I tell her and she does nothing, her worker did my eye brows and burnt my eye lid I had a cut for 2 weeks I tell her she talks In Chinese to other girl they laugh .. not even like hey ur eyebrows on me this week NA!
